The weather's turned decisively grey here in the UK, so does that mean summer's almost over. Oh well, there's no shortage of gaming goodness to get involved with this weekend. This is what we're playing.

After some hands-on time with Battlefield 6, I reckon I'll be booting Battlefield 2042 this weekend. The new game feels leagues better but I need some of that Battlefield chaos in my life right now.

Ninjas need patience for stealth, and I'm going to need some ninja-like patience to wait for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound to receive a UK physical release on 12th September. This is the first time I've taken part in Push Square's WAYNP? — What Are You Not Playing This Weekend?
Liam Croft
I'm checking out Senua's Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced for review this weekend, in among all the football there is to watch this weekend as the season finally returns.
Those are the games keeping us busy this weekend, but what about you? Let us know your gaming agenda in the comments section below.

I am still in the Diablo 2 grasp, and I do not see that going away in the near future I am farming like crazy for that Enigma runeword!
However, to break the farming madness I will play short bursts of Mortal Kombat 1 and Mutation Nation (amazing nostalgia coming from this one!)
Happy gaming everyone!!!
Almost done with Banishers. Such a good game! Of you like the norse GoW, you Will like this one too!
Have a great weekend!
Hoping to finish the wonderful Death Stranding on PS5 so I can buy and devour the 2nd one. Had a real love / hate relationship with it but love it now. Bonkers and brilliant.
Playing Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight on PC along with System Shock 2 Remastered - one of the all time greats.
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
More Diablo IV as just scratching the surface I think. Tinkering around with Tempering, potions etc so just learning by doing.
Balatro of course as well as always.
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
I’m wrapping up Death Stranding 2 a few more deliveries and a couple more trophies before the platinum. I think the first one had a tighter feel, but I love the scale of the second.
Ive just changed all my zipline music to Pekorandombrain and the hologram to the data scientist which for some reason is hilarious to me. So if your ziplining through the mountains, i hope you like that music!😂
I might go back to my NG+ of Demons Souls after this, but it was kicking my ass.
Have a great weekend Folks!
Robocop Unfinished Business and Dynasty Warriors Origins on the Pro
Board games with friends and brunch
If I can though, I will sneak in some persona 3 reload and Shinobi's demo.
Also, Evo is on ^^
I have actually got the VR2 out and am playing some Pistol Whip and some Helldivers 2 plus Ridge Racer on the Portal. I am plodding until Mafia next week!
Happy gaming everyone!
I.ve been Going through my mad mans Journey of trying to platinum every Kingdom hearts game i.ve already got kingdom hearts 3 out of the way now I just need to do the rest.
On PS5 i will be playing YS The Oath in Felghana and the Tales of Arise DLC
On Switch 2 I will be continuing with the amazing Donkey Kong Bananza currently on the Tempest Layer and don't want it to end although I have a feeling I don't have much left. I will also be starting either Mary Skelter Nightmares or Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid, depends what mood I'm in.
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. The Edinburgh Fringe has begun so my gaming time is very limited. I’ll try my damnedest to fit in some Ys X though. If you’re in Edinburgh why not come to my show, there’s a joke about video games in it.
Ninja Gaiden Ragebound - Superb
Cyber Clutch - Good Wipeout/Blur type racer, needs a few more options though.
@get2sammyb spotted ye on the leaderboards on this one 👍
Shinobi (Demo) - Glad i preordered this now, pure class.
Gravel - Found it in the backlog, got it "dirt" cheap (No pun intended) Good offroad type racer from Milestone.
Off to Bloomfield Road for the start of another football season. Later it'll be Demon's Souls, Sniper Elite and some We Love Katamari Reroll, which I downloaded yesterday because me and my mate always used to play it at this time of year.
Got to love August.
@Jrs1 I'm tempted to pre-order Shinobi after playing the demo yesterday, absolutely brilliant
August Bank Holiday!
Lions Vs Australia Test 3 right now, then BBQ in my cousin's house up in the hills, and games all day Sunday and Monday.
Death Stranding 2 and Nightreign I'd say. Need to do those last two dark bosses in Nightreign and build more roads in DS.
I gave Witchfire (early access) a go on Steam Deck last night too, but the longer I played the muddier the textures got. Got the refund and decided to wait for a console release instead.
@Gremio108 Couldn't believe how good it was, felt the same way as i did playing Streets of Rage 4 for the 1st time 👍
Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice and Fortnite on the Switch 2
Not much else.
I'm currently in sunny Spain so reading books in the sun instead of gaming indoors. Loving it but do miss my PS5.
Don't want my holiday to end but when I get home I'll be back on the excellent Tails of Iron 2 and I'll see if can persuade my wife to get a switch 2 with Donkey Kong Bananza if we don't over spend here 🙈😂
I'm going it finish off doom 2016 definitely I'll play some RoboCop unfinished business and I'm tempted to do another play through of Alan wake 2 and 100% the game!
Whatever games your playing on whatever console I wish you a happy gaming weekend ✌️
@Eduard_Brenton eh, think I've heard that one
Good Luck. And, if anyone falls asleep, I hear airhorns are quite useful. Even just the threat of them can be enough to prevent that happening, but mostly because people will have left if you threatened them with airhorns. Maybe leave the airhorns out and just let people sleep 🤷♂️
Got the platinum for Mafia Definitive edition and trying to decide what to start next either Tales of Berseria or Dead Space.
Same as last week for me...
Occasionally interrupting my Balatro life with a bit of Cyberpunk 2077.
Only need one more voucher and one more Joker to complete my collection. And have reached the final mission in Cyberpunk so just messing about completing side stuff.
Have a great one peoples.
Experiencing utter shock and awe in Clair Obscur, Act 2 but I must move forward for the ones who come after.
Going to Cyber me some Punks at some point
On final act of clair obscur great game 🎮
Still Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, the immersion is incredible. I like how the combat isn't just straight forward hack and slash and go, the enemy has an equal chance just as you. The world is just beautiful, don't really think I've talked about a game's map being lovely, this is one of them along with the entire menu and UI. It has all the mechanics needed for a realistic open world. Can't stop playing.
This weekend I may finally get the platinum in First Beserker of Khazan and then I’ll continue my playthrough of WuChang (I’m using a guide to avoid missing entire regions of the game). I also will continue to drive my way through Death Stranding 2 and there is Ninja Gaiden Ragebound sitting there. So much to play!!
Playing:
1. Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound
I already beaten this game. Got the two ending, unlocked Hard mode, and new skin for Kenji & Kumori. The save file showed my playing time is 7 hours and 22 minutes. But now i'm playing for a Platinum trophy with Hard mode on a new save file and hot damn this mode is the real deal!
The stages has more traps, less checkpoint, more enemies and they hit harder, and the bosses are more aggressive. I'll give this game a 10/10. Very reccomended for NG fans or anyone who loves challenging games 👍👍
I just wish there's a leaderboard and also gallery mode where i can view the characters model or background.
And what i love more from this game not just it looks, plays, and sounds amazing but it also:
Good games deserves support and i hope it sold well cause i want more 2D Ninja Gaiden with Kenji, Kumori, or even Ryu.
2. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance demo
Another banger and GotY contender for me 👍👍. As a long time Shinobi fans, i'm just glad Sega trust Lizardcube with the IP. I'm gonna pre-order the game once i got my paycheck.
3. Maximo: Ghost to Glory
This game is really challenging just like Ghost 'n Goblins but I love it lol. It's sad Capcom cancelled the 3rd game but i hope someday they remaster this game and Army of Zin.
4. Darksiders 3
I got this game from PS+ but i never played it lol. But after watching Darksiders 4 trailer, i feel the urge to played it. So far it's quite fun and i like Fury character.
5. Street Fighter 6
EVO week, Master rank reset, and i need to warming up for Sagat.
Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻

I’m on a slow recovery after twisting my back on Wednesday. So I’m laying on the sofa and playing Jusant, feeling sorry for myself. 🤣
I jumped back into Vampire Survivors. I'm in the mood to play something where I can shut my brain off and pop some easy trophies.
Diablo 4 mainly!
Also doing some VR sessions with Driveclub and Blood & Truth.
Don't think I'll be playing anything, but I will be checking out the first few episodes of Twisted Metal season 2, really like the first season.
@Hootnoodle Oh boy, that sounds rough. Here's to a speedy recovery
Stella blade this weekend I think. Haven’t had the best time with new games recently. Had a brief foray into Diablo 4 before realising the enemy scaling made the whole thing pointless, then started Cyberpunk only to realise they’d made a post release censorship patch for the nudity, which pissed me off to the point I don’t want play it right now. Might dip into Eiyuden Chronicle as I’m a good way in and really enjoying it. Maybe some Monster Train 2 as there are some things on YouTube I want to listen too and it’s a pretty mindless but fun game.
Picked up the recent Gremlin Collection 2 cart for Evercade, so it's back Loaded and Hogs of War on PS1. I had Loaded on Saturn and the time, and despite the repetition it's really fun to go back to, very much a 90s game. Hogs of War I'd never played, but what a great game to discover all these years later.
Also still playing some Jedi Survivor (PS4 version) and probably play some Ridge Racer 2 (PSP) on PS4 too.
BG3 second run
I want to start by saying I’m very easy to please when it comes to video games and thank goodness for that. Throughout my 35-years I have seen many game reviews that are either mediocre, average, or my favorite, 7/10, and oftentimes I end up adoring them. I reflect on the pre-internet days in the 90s when my parents would take me to the movie/game rental store and I’d pick out NES games based on the box art; sometimes they were great games, sometimes they weren’t, but I discovered a lot of games that I love that I later found out weren’t reviewed well once the internet became prominent.
That brings me to Blades of Fire. It has a respectable user score of 8.2 on Metacritic, while (some) critics weren’t that high on the game. Nonetheless, it clearly made a positive impression on the players, and I am one of them. I’m glad I took a chance on it despite its generic box-art because it’s the definition of “don’t judge a book by its cover”, and I’m enthralled by it.
First and foremost, it’s a 3D action adventure whilst simultaneously being a Metroidvania. This should come to no surprise considering their most recent game was a new 2D Metroid (Dread). Some people have touted it as a Souls-like, which I think is an inaccurate comparison. It may feel that way in terms of its difficulty, and believe me, it’s not even close to being that hard in terms of defining it as an entire genre built on that punishment.
The game shines in its combat, offering a wide array of weapons and combat techniques. Each weapon has its unique move-set and the way to attack enemies is based on directional hits. It’s a distinctive combat system that really requires you to experiment. And the way to acquire new weapon types is by defeating enemies a certain number of times, making you feel like you’re always progressing. However, you have to forge these weapons in order to obtain them. It’s an addictive mini-game that plays a drastic role in your success or failure in future combat encounters.
The game world itself is charming—it really does feel like that old school PS3/Xbox 360-era of action adventure games where the characters are over the top, the story is bombastic but fun, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It evokes feelings of when I played the original original God of War for the first time, and that’s probably the most accurate description for the entire game because it plays like it in terms of progression, exploration, and combat.
I have only one real complaint, and if it was handled a little bit more eloquently this game would be top tier for me; that is the level design and map. While exploration is rewarding, it’s very easy to get lost despite the game being touted as linear. There are so many interweaving paths in dense sections and it can become confusing, and the overworld map does little to help with navigation. I think it would benefit greatly with a mini map. With that said, it has Metroidvania DNA so it’s meant to be obtuse. Additionally, I’m playing on the hardest difficulty where it doesn’t show you where your next objective is, so exploring your surroundings and paying attention to dialogue is key to advancing the story.
We're been on a family trip for most of the week so I've been using the Portal to play Banishers and FH 5 which are both great and I'm enjoying them both a lot.
And again, its great how good the portal works as long as you have a stable (and fast also helps) connection!
I’m also playing, finally, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. It’s brilliant, challenging, features precise platforming and engaging combat, but it doesn’t rush you to the next transition screen. You can take your time if you want, but you also feel like a badass if you rush in and mow down enemies without being hit. There is a deep level of satisfaction due to the degree of difficulty Ninja Gaiden is as a whole. With Blasphemous and now this, I can’t wait to see what TGK cooks up next. Castlevania, perhaps? Please.
Gotham Knights. I feel that the reviews for this game were a tad harsh. It's pretty decent with some great villain fight sequences.
A bit of the usual forza and EA wrc shenanigans but I did purchase kingdom come deliverance for £4.99 in the sale so I'll crack into that too.
Have a great weekend folks 👍
@ApostateMage I thought Gotham Knights was great fun, especially playing as Batgirl. That Clayface boss fight can do one though
I just got the plat for Star Wars Outlaws yesterday, so I'm waving goodbye to this good, underrated game. I will now load my PS4 save on Death Stranding: Director's Cut to remember the game and explore the exclusive content (and nab the auto-pop trophies), in preparation for Death Stranding 2, one of my next main games.
I will keep playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (damn impressive game!!), Yakuza 6 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS5)
Keep on keeping on, mates!!!
As of tonight I can play literally anything I want to and I imagine I'll be paralysed by choice; my son finally got his own PS5 with his 18th money and the monitor for it arrives today. Setting it all up in his room later, which means I now get the OG PS5 all to myself... finally! No longer restricted to the Portal and its cloud offerings, much as that's fun, or watching him score another platinum (he already has 45 to my 26, the young upstart).
Maybe I’ll get back to Death Stranding 2 after putting it on hiatus for Donkey Kong Bananza. Realistically, I’m in no rush to play through it though, as I gotta be honest… that release slate in August and September isn’t calling my name right now.
Outside that, it’ll be Ninja Gaiden Ragebound and Time Flies, which I started both yesterday and it doesn’t seem it’ll take long to beat either of them.
After THQ's showcase yesterday they released a demo for the Gothic Remake. Will be checking that out!! 😸
@KingPev Yeah, Batgirl all the way. She's the most well rounded.
Her skill set isn't bad either.
I have a few days left of my month of FFXI and I am using it to level up all the jobs I can to over lvl24 just so i can purge my inventories of all the low level gear.
Playing FFXI has given me a hankering for ye olde MMO goodness and I think I might be in the right mental space to finally tackle WoW Classic so once My XI sub runs out I might grab a month of WoW and see how I feel
Probably going back to metaphor refantazio after taking a break for DK bananza.
Same as last week so clair obscur and donkey Kong bananarama, hopefully I’ll get at least one of them finished by Monday.
Unfortunately I’m not going to have hardly any time to game this weekend due to family situations, church and a concert but if I have time to squeeze some gaming in, it’ll be on Dying Light 2, which I’ve really been enjoying. Hope everyone enjoys whatever they get stuck into this weekend!
Finished Terra Memoria and Fate/Extra recently.
Will be playing:
Raidou Remastered.
Sky Force Anniversary.
Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound.
Final Fantasy 3 Pixel Remaster.
And maybe Book of Demons.
Oh, and I wanna play Jade Empire again, such a great game. It's retrocompatible on Xbox, so I'm glad to have both consoles.
@freddquadros ...some great games on the go there ! I loved Outlaws too
@ApostateMage ...is that a euphemism ? 😅
Taking a break from FF7: Rebirth. I lost a few hours of progress due to an ill-timed startup of another game, and I have no desire to replay any of the open world stuff I already did.
I was really enjoying Octopath Traveler, but I'm to a point where enemies are all pretty beefy and the encounter rate is high. As a result, battles take a long time and it just doesn't feel like progress.
I decided to pick Expedition 33 back up - the retry battle feature has been a game changer for me so far. I'll spend a bit of time on Eve online as well. I'd like to find a quiet C3 Wormhole with a HS static to park an alt. Maybe I'll focus on that today in my time with the game.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
@KingPev Thanks man!! You have great goods on play there too!!!
Dragon Quest III HD Remake
Still enjoying Dragons Dogma 2, despite some oddities!
Itching to try Banishers so I might start tomorrow..
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun.
@Lowdefal It is ridiculously fast, now you can have a full party of trusts (Once you've done the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel stuff) survival is no longer an issue for levelling content, the Rhapsodies stuff also gives a major boost to exp. For example I've just taken Corsair from 0 to 25 in maybe 40 minutes
Started Death Stranding 2 and playing DK Bananza as well. 2 GOTY contenders.
@Lowdefal I did see someone getting clobbered in Valkurm Dunes yesterday, it was very nostalgic!
More Oblivion remastered and maybe some MH Wilds, mostly trying to get some well needed sleep this weekend.
Happy gaming team!
Ghost of Tsushima
I think I’m gonna jump back on WWE 2K25. Get in some Fatal Fury and Street Fighter 6 too.
Kinda of in an RPG mode this weekend so it will be the following
Suikoden (Series X) Just finished the battle with Kwanda Rossman. Now I am doing a bit of recruiting.
Octopath Travler (Switch) Started this awhile back but dont remember what I was doing plus I dont have my original save file anymore so I will be starting it this weekend.
@Ristar24 It's a good cart the Gremlin 2 collection, really like my Evercade, the recent carts have been pretty decent and justify being a couple of quid more.
Hogs of War though is a classic, love that game and hope you like it, Rick Mayall is awesome. There is supposed to be a new one out some time soon!! Doubt it will be as good as the OG but fingers crossed it's half decent!
Just reached act 2 of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It has a beautiful sadness draped all over it. If I get too depressed though, I'm digging for bananas in DK on Switch 2.
A great weekend to all. My rotation:
Red Dead Redemption 2
Just to have Arthur travel the world and check how the game holds up to say KCD2.
Oh, boy. This world and the level of care taken to make every gameplay system work together is still marvelous. I much prefer this game, just meandering, as a walking sim over Death Stranding. I was running up a mountainous path to rotate the camera bringing Arthur into focus on the backdrop of a giant moon. And he's spent from running trying to catch his breath - what a beautiful game.
Robo Cop: Rogue City
I thought that Indiana Jones was a playable movie, but really it is Robo who faithfully recreates a cinematic experience for me. Shooting or incapacitating bad dudes and watching them blow up or fly around is just perfect in this game.
I am at the ending of the game and the story and writing has been so much fun.
PS5: Kingdom hearts 1.5 and 2.5. Currently playing final remix (first game in the series).
@EfYI ...you've made me wanna boot RDR 2 back up again. A true classic
Continuing Death Stranding 2, currently on chapter 7. I am really enjoying it. Seems much easier than the 1st but still fantastic. I only seem to play on weekends these days so this should take longer to finish, but do want to get mafia when its released but will wait to finish this first.
I took few weeks off from gaming as I felt really not in the mood. Started several new games back then, but nothing really grabbed me. Now let´s see if it worked, yesterday started Lies of P so will be playing that. Looking forward to new Mafia game and also Gears of War Reloaded - hope it´s high quality remaster and definitely want to buy it in physical.
Have a nice weekend and happy gaming, everyone!
@Mostik Yep Hogs of War is great, I grew up watching The Young Ones so always liked Rik! I like the choice to bring games like Loaded back, also replayed PS1 Tomb Raider on there recently.
I'm hopelessly addicted to Hitman World of Assassination in VR(again) and still lost in Into the Radius so probably these two, and i've just came round to finally properly start Alien Rogue Incursion. My Backlog is kinda out of control, as usual. I've found a little hidden gem for my Quest 3 as well recently, it's still in early access and kinda bare bones but really promising. It's called The Pirate: Republic of Nassau and it looks great for a standalone game, it's open world and lends a thing or two from AC Black Flag and Sid Meiers Pirates! The naval battles are very similar to AC4/Skull & Bones and it has the same kind feel to the management, exploration and strategy as Sid Meiers Pirates! had. New stuff is added constantly and it's dirt cheap, highly reccommended if you liked the aforementioned games and have a Meta Quest 3!
PS5 - Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
Switch 2 - Donkey Kong Bananza
Twins (Windows Phone) - Nearly beaten this already.
Gears POP! (Android) - Slowly watching a longplay.
Gun Bros (Windows Phone) - Finally at the end boss. Then time for deletion and onto the next game in the WP pile getting the axe.
Now that I’m back from vacation, I’ll be jumping into my long awaited Ninja Gaiden Ragebound!
@Kraven I hope TGK get the greenlight to make Ragebound 2. But i wouldn't mind if they collabs with other popular franchise who has 2D side scrolling root like Castlevania, Strider, Splatterhouse, or Mega Man. I love Castlevania Bloodlines and if Konami let TGK make Bloodlines 2 i would go nuts haha.
Finally finished all the DLC levels in Astro Bot. All quite fun, though the final level took some time and patience.
Right at the end of my 100% playthrough of Assassins Creed: Rogue with only the cheat trophies left… well those and the Dedicated Employee trophy which is notoriously glitchy and unfortunately glitched for me too. So once I get the 4 remaining cheat trophies, it’s back to starting a new playthrough from scratch to redo 35 Abstergo Challenges.
Having finally beaten Inscryption during the week it is now all been Monster Train 2. I seem to be addicted to deck builders at the moment even though i am truly terrible about them. Just something about the "just one more run....."
A little bit of each of the following multiplayer PSVR2 games:
@playstation1995 Apologies for my late reply, I've been spending time with family, so I've not had the chance to download the Shinobi: Art of Vengeance demo yet.
Both you and Sammy were kind to give me a heads-up about SEGA releasing this playable demo recently, and I'm grateful to the two of you for thinking of my retro gaming tastes.
I've also placed my order for a physical version of PS5 Shinobi: Art of Vengeance with Limited Run Games, as well.
I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying the demo lots, plus it's already the weekend again soon, so I look forward to reading your next WAYP gaming picks tomorrow, mate.
Oh, and like you, I also think that Joe Musashi is a legend!
