We’re probably never getting another The Simpsons game which is a crying shame. But we are getting a Fortnite mini-season inspired by the show.
This has been rumoured for months now, and while it still hasn’t been officially acknowledged by maker Epic, the leak of a glider featuring Kang and Kodos all but confirms it’s on the way.
At this point, we have to assume the dev is using dataminers to help market the title, because there’s really no reason for this asset to be included in the current update.
The description for the item even reads: “Can you believe they left us out of the Battle Pass?” This obviously implies there will be a The Simpsons-themed Battle Pass.
Disney owns The Simpsons following its acquisition of Fox, and we know the media powerhouse has a tight relationship with Fortnite. Recently, we even saw characters from King of the Hill added to the game.
Kang and Kodos are expected to be a free quest reward in Fortnite, but there has been speculation that locations from Springfield will be added to the Battle Royale map. That seems like a lot of fun to us.
It’s not exactly clear when The Simpsons will be added to the game, but current event Fortnitemares is scheduled to run through 31st October, so don’t expect any announcements for a couple of weeks.
We’ll keep you updated!
