Marvel Cosmic Invasion, the upcoming beat-'em-up from publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games, has looked like a slam dunk from the first trailer, and its latest shows off a pair of new characters that avoid the typical Avengers favourites.
Here's the new trailer, announcing Silver Surfer and Beta Ray Bill are joining the playable roster:
Silver Surfer is a fan favourite Marvel character, first introduced as an enemy to the Fantastic Four but has also been depicted as a hero.
Beta Ray Bill, meanwhile, is a slightly deeper cut, or at least a character that's not really broken out into the mainstream. Debuting in the Thor comic books, the character has been portrayed as both an adversary and an ally of the hammer-wielding god.

Here's the rest of the playable roster so far:
- Captain America
- Nova
- Phyla-Vell
- Rocket Raccoon
- She-Hulk
- Spider-Man
- Storm
- Venom
- Wolverine
The game will feature 15 playable characters at launch, meaning there are four still to be revealed.
The roster is interesting; it does include some household names like Spidey and Wolverine, but it balances out the well-worn heroes with some lesser-known ones. It makes for a refreshing batch.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is coming to PS5 and PS4 later this year, with no firm date as yet. Are you excited for it? What do you think of the newly unveiled characters? Tell us in the comments section below.
