Japanese games in general are killing it so far this year.

In this day and age we can't have these smaller AA projects. Everything costs too much and break even is too high. It's a shame

@Max_the_German crazy hey, bring a new platform out but don't support it. Publishes 2 games and then pulls one. And we thought the Vita support from Sony was bad.

So they bring Kiln over but not Keeper!?!

I enjoyed the demo, game reminds me of the PS3/360 era when Japanese developers tried to appeal to Western audiences by making shooters, most were lackluster but this one seems solid enough

I miss the PS3 days when Japan studios was pumping out wierd games, Santa Monica had it's incubator projects, then we also had more platformers etc...

So yeah I'd love more smaller games, but with a bit more effort than Son's. As someone who loves Metroidvanias, it's a real slog, gameplay is basic, artstyle isn't appealing and moment to moment gameplay is tedious

Why would ya, xbox is desperate and announced their system early to reassure shareholders and fans. But in reality sony is out-selling xbox 4 to 1, they can announce the ps6 6 months from launch and take the wind out of Microsofts sails. I doubt they will change their strategy one bit

I'd imagine Sony has fully backed out financially 🤔

Great little demo, couple sections I died alot. Didn't realize it was a cinematic platformer. Plays like a limbo, little nightmares style game. Price seems reasonable too, I'm a little disappointed at the cost of Reanimal for the length of it so Darwin seems the better buy

Best one easily, felt like a Showcase. The crazy thing is that they did a great SoP and so many major publishers were missing, no Sega, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, 2K, Warner Bros, Electronic Arts. Shows the industry is changing

The spin master partnership didn't last long

Konami was arguably the biggest publisher in the world in the 90s. This renaissance that they're in currently is amazing. Silent Hill is back, Metal Gear is back, now maybe Castlevania. I'm here for it!

9/10 best SoP ever, was basically a showcase in all but name, so many games for me in it!

Awesome, townfall must be getting a trailer at SoP, then a full silent hill transmission after. They did this tactic in May 2024 SoP

Its amazing that the SoP will run over an hour but won't feature one of Sonys biggest games of the year. What have they got up their sleeve 👀

I'm just hoping that Square shows up with a next gen announcement. They've only released a handful of true AAA big budget games on PS5 and would love to see something, whether it be DQXII, KHIV, FFVIIR 3 or something new I'd be happy

Being a trophy guy, I hope most trophies can be earnt in the single player side of it and not online matches.im not that good at fighting games

@Boxmonkey state of plays tend to get lots of view, I'd imagine they pulled it from the presentation to avoid so much hate, which they still got anyway

The only Final Fantasy left not playable on modern hardware from the PS1/PS2 era. I secretly hope it will get a Crisis Core style remaster eventually. Even a ps2 classic emulation would be nice

Google, Meta, Amazon have all tried and failed to make a impact in the games market. Probably harder industry than they imagined. Now talented teams and people are out of work

I saw a rumour that they have canceled Project Mara in favor of Hellblade 3

So Saros, MLB and Wolverine 2026, Intergalactic maybe 2027. Fairgames which will gst cancelled and then 9 studios with unannounced projects. Plus Dark Outlaw Games and LFG's projects

Usually open world is my jam, but I've barely touched any this year. Just Ghost of Yotei and Days Gone Remastered. So will have to go with Yotei

@TheArt I thought yes for sure, I was surprised Ubisoft wasn't there to show off AC4, Splinter Cell and PoP remakes. Especially as rumors have them releasing soon

Just okay for me. Liked that Expedition got goty, but most game announcements aren't games for me. Just a couple showcased that I'd play, but that's okay because of my backlog

You need to add to the last question none. I prefer SM>SM2, GoW18>GoWR, HZD>HFW, GoT>GoY.

As per sequels, I don't mind the strategy, i just wish there were smaller riskier titles in between. We don't get Concrete Genies, MediEvil remakes, The Orders, etc... anymore.

Is this the first time Ubisoft has done a proper remake? They've done plenty of remasters but can't think of any examples of a proper redone game.

@SeaDaVie look up what indies actually means, it doesn't mean small.

And just look at the likes of Ubisoft, warner Bros, EA, even 2k, they aren't having hits like they used to

Between Stellar Blade and Lies of P, South Korea could be the next bastion of great AAA games and western developers continue to struggle

Bullfrog was my favorite developer in the 90s, shame once ES got ahold of them and ruined it. If Sony did aquire them, then maybe we will still be talking about them

Still don't believe this game is real until I'm playing it. I don't play all the gacha games that are put there, but I might make an exception for this one

Playstation quite often release games on PS Plus premium that tie into other games releases or announcements. This month they put up Legacy of Kain Defiance. My guess we're going to get LoK 6 announced

@MFTWrecks in terms of cancelations and studios shutting, this isn't exclusive to super hero genre, I think the problem is they get excited and announce them way too early, then the studio can't pull together a good game and is ultimately canceled. This will happen all the time behind the scenes on unannounced projects that are new IP. There was also a rumour that Disney wants 30% cut on licensed games, then if someone like Sony takes 30% for you to sell on their store page and you have a game not coming together in early development it's probably best just to scrap
