Sony needs a massive reset for 2027.

Things aren't going their way and they keep making blunders. Herman Hulst needs to go. They need to rethink strategy, and if God of War Laufey and Until Dawn 2 are rough they need to delay

This game did look 'off', all the trailers leading up to it had it painted as a 7-8. I made a comment yesterday about the state of Playstation and this reiterates it. Once Hideaki Nishino took over and Herman Hulst in charge of Playstation Studios it hasn't been going well. The glory days of PS4 are over. With Until Dawn 2 being a cheaper title I'd say it's going to be a shorter experience and God of War Laufey also looks 'off', the future isn't looking amazing right now

As a long time Playstation fan, they are just making so many baffling decisions, they've really made it hard to defend/support tthem. I haven't loved any of their first party releases in years, probably GoW 18 was the last. A portable gaming PC is now do tempting because at this stage I can't see myself buying a PS6. And I've bought a ps1-5, psp, and psvita

Here's my dream for a Killzone title. Set on Vekta after Shadow Fall,you play a fps immersive sim rpg. You run missions over the walls doings tasks for Helghans and Vektans alike. Your decisions shape the story and you can either be neutral or make Helghan or Vektan stronger by your choices and actions. Game will also have a bit of gunplay

The State of Play was alright, there were some games up my alley in there, the biggest issue was they had alot of dlc. The recent trend of state of plays have been very good as well, like the one in February. This one felt obligatory, they didn't really have anything to show so they put what they could together. Wonder if Jedi 3 and Iron Man plus the unannounced Marvel games will be safe or they will be chopped. I would not be surprised for EA to be turned into the sports and Battlefield show

Surely this gets a retail release, I'm planning for it to be one of the last ones I buy

@Hylian-Likely isn't that everything? I can't remember the last time video games or Hollywood made an actually interesting character. They keep having to rely on old characters made years ago. This is a realization I had recently watching Dune Prophecy and House of the Dragon, all the characters are so unlikeable you can't behind any of them which is stark(no pun intended) contrast to Game of Thrones where there were so many well written characters. 2020s writers suck these days

They could easily cover this in two games, first being world of balance, second game being world of ruin. The biggest issues is the 14 main characters and 27 espers. Maybe if they reduced party down to 8 and the rest were non playable support characters. I'm fine with 1-6 being 2d, I'd rather VIII and IX remakes

@Nightcrawler71 not happening, guerrilla has already confirmed hunters gathering is the main focus for the studio. I would imagine H3 is 2029 at the earliest, will be a ps6 title

@Northern_munkey this, I live in NZ but have an Australian account from when I lived there for a few years. I've kept that account going because of all the trophies I accumulated on it.

I buy retail because it's cheaper, for instance Marvel's Wolverine is $125 aud(about $150 nz)digital, or I can buy retail for $138 nz. The nz digital price is $140. Occasionally there's some examples where I'll save around $30nzd for sticking to retail and then I have something tangible to sell later if I wanted.

I knew an all digital gaming future was coming, I just thought it would be maybe the PS7 era.

Now I'm weighing up if a gaming PC is the way to go, I really like Playstation first party though, and it's a shame they won't be bringing their single player over anymore.

You know what, I've come to the conclusion that Sony released so much bad news this week is because they want to get ahead of the upcoming xbox bloodbath. People have short memories and everyone will be attacking xbox next week

@Fyz306903 I can't imagine it will, the key cards is a step towards their all digital future as well. At least nintendo games are cheaper digital than physical unlike Playstation

PS6 will be digital only, unfortunately it's not going to be reversed. Especially if they have a discless hybrid handheld. Xbox will do the same. Nintendo will be last physical media standing

I gave it a 8, only a few games for me. So many games in the middle looked the same. Dark Gothic style titles or horror. Watched with my son and was hoping for some family friendly games for him. Loved that they spent so long with FFVII

@AdamNovice yeah it's disappointing there were zero surprises in this sop, everything posted about the Fey game was true. And things like Firesprite developing Until Dawn 2 were leaked months ago and the Rayman Legends leaks from last week didn't help

Would of been a 10 if things weren't leaked, we have already heard of a game about Fey, Firesprite working on a Until Dawn title, Rayman Legends etc.. surprises were already spoiled unfortunately

No doubt the rumours are wrong, but one can dream. I really want to see what Firesprite, Bend and Media Molecule are up to. And Uncharted 5, it's time

Can't wait for the big AI market crash that will inevitably come, suddenly chips will drop in price as they try to offload inventory, and hopefully consoles will get to a more reasonable price.

I'm hoping PS6 will be a semi decent price, I travel a lot for work so a portable device sounds like a dream

I'm playing Saros currently and enjoying it. Never touched Returnal, not a fan of rogue likes so Saros been more entry level appealed to me. I like that it is a 3rd person Doom game in essence so Saros wins for me

@AdamNovice yeah would need to be huge. I always envisioned SM3 would finish up the main story, I'm guessing it will end with Peter Parker sacrificing himself to save NYC from Green Goblin

If true, I wonder if Spider-Man 3 will be a big game. With the canceled SM2 dlc and online game, there is alot of plot threads that need to be addressed.it would need to tie up a few loose ends

Japanese games in general are killing it so far this year.

In this day and age we can't have these smaller AA projects. Everything costs too much and break even is too high. It's a shame

I miss the PS3 days when Japan studios was pumping out wierd games, Santa Monica had it's incubator projects, then we also had more platformers etc...

So yeah I'd love more smaller games, but with a bit more effort than Son's. As someone who loves Metroidvanias, it's a real slog, gameplay is basic, artstyle isn't appealing and moment to moment gameplay is tedious

Why would ya, xbox is desperate and announced their system early to reassure shareholders and fans. But in reality sony is out-selling xbox 4 to 1, they can announce the ps6 6 months from launch and take the wind out of Microsofts sails. I doubt they will change their strategy one bit

Great little demo, couple sections I died alot. Didn't realize it was a cinematic platformer. Plays like a limbo, little nightmares style game. Price seems reasonable too, I'm a little disappointed at the cost of Reanimal for the length of it so Darwin seems the better buy

Best one easily, felt like a Showcase. The crazy thing is that they did a great SoP and so many major publishers were missing, no Sega, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, 2K, Warner Bros, Electronic Arts. Shows the industry is changing

The spin master partnership didn't last long

Konami was arguably the biggest publisher in the world in the 90s. This renaissance that they're in currently is amazing. Silent Hill is back, Metal Gear is back, now maybe Castlevania. I'm here for it!

I'm just hoping that Square shows up with a next gen announcement. They've only released a handful of true AAA big budget games on PS5 and would love to see something, whether it be DQXII, KHIV, FFVIIR 3 or something new I'd be happy

Being a trophy guy, I hope most trophies can be earnt in the single player side of it and not online matches.im not that good at fighting games

@Boxmonkey state of plays tend to get lots of view, I'd imagine they pulled it from the presentation to avoid so much hate, which they still got anyway
