Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic PS5

Saber Interactive has said its Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake remains in development at the company.

That's all it had to say in a recent interview with IGN, as chief creative officer Tim Willits told the outlet: "Yes, it is still in development. That's all I can say."

At this point, five years since its original announcement, there have been more quotes from executives promising the PS5 remake project is still alive and well than there have been trailers. Except for the debut trailer from 2021, which showed very little, the title hasn't been shown off in any capacity.

While fans of the series wait for the remake to release, they can also anticipate a spiritual successor to the two RPGs in the form of Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. It was announced at The Game Awards last year and brings back Casey Hudson in the director role.

Led by Casey Hudson, Game director of the original Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect trilogy, the team of veteran game developers and storytellers at Arcanaut Studios is crafting an epic interactive adventure across a galaxy on the brink of rebirth where every decision shapes your path towards light or darkness.

The hope is we'll see both the PS5 remake and the spiritual successor launch before the turn of the decade. Are you still hoping to play the Knights of the Old Republic Remake one day? Tell us when you think that'll be in the comments below.
