PS5's First State of Play of 2026 Tipped for Later This Week 1

As we reported previously, a February State of Play is imminent, and it’s tipped for later this week.

Reliable rumourmongers Nate the Hate and Jeff Grubb have both teased a 12th February livestream from Sony, and while plans can always adjust internally, these are two of the industry’s top snoops.

Obviously, it’s become difficult to predict the content of PlayStation’s presentations, as they can swing in quality quite wildly.

We’d put money on the likes of Marathon, Resident Evil Requiem, and Saros all featuring, as they’re out imminently.

But Sony made the decision to reveal Guerrilla’s new multiplayer-themed Horizon Hunters Gathering last week, so we wouldn’t expect something like Fairgames or 4Loop to suddenly appear in the show.

It’s possible we may learn about the God of War’s long rumoured 2.5D Metroidvania spin-off, though – and perhaps even what studios like Firesprite have been working on.

As always, though, we’d keep your first-party expectations to a minimum: Sony usually only provides updates one or two PS Studios titles during these broadcasts, so keep that in mind to avoid disappointment in advance.

We’ll obviously update you with timing and more details as and when the State of Play is officially announced.
