@Diowine it will be multiplat but nintendo will more than likely have marketing rights. I think Square would rather save it for a big event with more eyes than a random Tuesday that happens to be Dragon Quest day

@twitchtvpat I still have my ps3, I sold my ps4 since 5 was bc. Also sold my original Playstation as ps2 was bc. So yeah, if there was a one stop box like xbox I would also sell my ps3 and ps2

I would love to be able to slam my ps3 disc's into my ps5 and play. Ps6 better me backwards compatible with ps4 and 5 at thr very least

Switch 2 has Fast Fusion which looks just like wipeout, they should port that across

@get2sammyb I enjoyed it from what i remember. Lots of puzzles to do, and I remember some platforming between water tubes

@MrRhysReviews Aspyr got kicked off the remake a couple years ago, and I believe Sony has pulled out as a partner. Saber is doing the remake in-house now

The Switch 2 is more expensive than the Playstation 5 in NZ, it's comparable to the PS5 with Astro Bot pack in, Mario Kart is $129

I'm a big Square Enix fan and I think this is the first time I've seen them so quiet. They are so hush about their pipeline, they only have DQI and II HD announced for this year, and have gone very quiet on KHIV and DQXII. Even their mobile side seems absent. I'm so used to them in the past having over 10 announced games in the pipeline at any given time. They've only given us 3 next gen ganes so far as well

My issue with State of Play is inconsistency, when Sony started the format they were quite dull affairs, but got better over the years. We haven't had a showcase since May 2023 and honestly that wasn't much better than a SoP, September 2021 was their last good big presentation. State of Plays seem to be their only connection to gamers currently and they had a couple of decent ones last year that felt like showcases.

The latest sop I feel needed to be a big deal, the Playstation roadmap is a bit weak currently, Microsoft has a huge line up this year, nintendo has the Switch 2 and no doubt some great first party exclusives. If Sony won't give us a showcase then we look at sop's for our big news

Honestly time all these studios rebound from canceled projects I'd say Playstation Studios won't hit it's stride again until PS6 generation

I gave it a 6, largely forgettable experience, very short and the levels had very little variety, run right, fight enemies, run right, fight enemies, get treasure chests, run right etc...every single level

They should of studied Telltale games far more closely

@ear_wig would hardly call those tentpole releases, they're nowhere near the scale of a 3D Mario or mainline Zelda, and neither are GOTY contenders. On MC the highest rated NIntendo game is actually Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Even with Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2, and hypothetically new multiplayer horizon, Cory Balrog's new game, Neil Druckman's new game, etc.. no matter what Sony releases next year, they wont win GOTY, GTAVI will sweep everything

@awp69 not really this year, while they had plenty of decent games, they haven't had that big tentpole release for 2024

I know 3rd party games on PS classics generally don't get trophies, but man I hope blood omen 1 & 2 do.

Hopefully this is a sign that we will get more entries, or maybe they put the polish on and release Dead Sun, i think that game was very close to completion

If this was a big new single player game, then that would be a cause for concern, but a small 10 hour lego game is not a deal breaker

It's a shame that there big AAA titles aren't hitting numbers, XVI and Rebirth are both amazing games, even Forspoken was okay. I'm sure Dragon Quest XII and Kingdom Hearts IV can turn that around

@get2sammyb past consoles I may have bought a spare controller or 2, and maybe a 3rd party accessory. So far for my ps5 I have purchased, headphones, dual charger station, ps portal, 3 extra controllers all official Sony products. I think they got the PlayStation 5 aesthetic right, all the things look cool and must own

Sony has nailed Playstation accessories this generation, from headsets, PS portal, different controllers and face plates, people are buying them like never before

I mean there definitely isn't a lack of new games, and I never struggle finding something good to play.

But I understand why people are saying lack of software, and I think that's because Sony still hasn't released that killer app for PS5, the must play, must own game. The biggest titles they've released on PS5 have been cross-gen, and on reflection Spider-man 2 was a little disappointing, I still haven't seen anything on the technical level TLOU Part II was, which released over 4 years ago. The fact Sony is keeping their cards close to their chest doesn't help things, as there is not much to look forward to from them in the next year or 2

The days of working from home are over, so many companies and government agencies around the world are demanding workers come back.

The plus side is, those small businesses, cafes and hospitality venues that have struggled(if they survived) will hopefully get foot traffic back in their doors
