We've been curious to try out Konami's cute octopus platformer action game, Darwin's Paradox, and fortunately, the publisher has seen fit to release a playable demo.
It's available now on PS5, and in a fun twist, the demo is a crossover with the Metal Gear Solid series.
Take a look at what we mean in the below trailer:
The demo contains Easter eggs related to Konami's beloved stealth action series as you get to grips with Darwin's octopus abilities, like camouflage and using ink to evade enemies. It's a fun nod, and a neat way to make the demo a unique experience.

In addition to the demo, Konami has shared a release date for Darwin's Paradox itself. It's set for launch on 2nd April, 2026 on PS5.

I checked out the demo last night and it's really fun. Makes me excited for the full game.
Just had a blast on it. Very good. I'll be buying this.
Demo's are back and they work. I've gone from thinking about getting this to definitely getting it
Xmas in February is the gift that keeps on giving. Now with a brand new demo lol. Is this Sony's new personal E3 now, Feb?
I've been interested in this and look forward to trying out the demo!
There is a possibility this will get a physical release via Limited Run Games because today I received their newsletter which accidentally stated in the summary I could preorder Darwin's paradox but when I opened the mail there was no mention of the game.
This was the surprise of the show for me ( after mgs4 😁). Looked such a laugh!
Finished the demo on ps portal and loved it so it will be a buy in april.
Is it me or is it an absolute nightmare to find these demos now on psn?
There is no demo section.
I looked for this demo earlier today and could not find it.
The pragmata demo was linked within its full game page but Darwin was not.
I found it via the ps app, though it’s on the same page as the full game and you need to select the demo rather than the base game.
@Bez87 Yes I totally agree but if you go in Collections you will find all the Demos there. Hope this helps.
I am curious about this one and will try the demo.
@rustym82
Good (representative) demos have literally sold me on so many games over the last couple of years.
If your game is good, they can literally be the best marketing tool.
@StitchJones I don't really recall a front half of a calendar year so stacked with games. Feel like for some reason, everyone is trying to avoid the back half of the calendar
Great little demo, couple sections I died alot. Didn't realize it was a cinematic platformer. Plays like a limbo, little nightmares style game. Price seems reasonable too, I'm a little disappointed at the cost of Reanimal for the length of it so Darwin seems the better buy
Release date confirmed is good. Had my eye on the game for awhile.
@Rich33 100% works with trials on plus. I bought cult of the lamb and shadow warrior 3 on the basis of trials (and PSN discounts to be fair)
@smellyplaymarky Thankyou, I'll have a look.
Its really fustrating though that the demo section has just disappeared.
Pragmata I went on its main page clicked the 3 dots and the demo page for it was linked.
But Darwin I went there did the same thing and 0 link to the demo.
There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to how any of it works when it comes to demos. Which is a real shame because many games may be hurting because no one knows about a demo or cant find it.
Ah sold I really appreciated being a squid in the sewer bein chased by rats
