Man, so much trash TV and films came out of the last big strike, hope it doesn't happen again. They're probably trying to get a pay rise now before AI takes over writing scripts for everything and they're out of jobs
I went from Atari to Sega to PC to Playstation. My brother in law had a PS1 and I fell in love, I had the choice between the 3(PS1, N64, Saturn) and jumped on the PS1 wagon thanks to games like Wipeout, Tekken, Ridge Racer etc...
Apart from a brief PS hiatus when I went from PS2 to Wii for a few years, I've never gone without the latest PlayStation under the TV
@4kgk2 It's crazy especially when you consider we only really had 2 big AAA Final Fantasy's all last gen (XV and VIIR) amongst lots of spinoffs, ports and remasters.
No EA is in a renaissance currently, and has been quite strong in their releases for the past year.
I'm more surprised by Microsoft having more engagement than Sony, with Microsoft having very little releases and Sony having some big hitters last year. Maybe its gamepass driving numbers?
I'm not sure if I agree with that, I think it was the more mature offer that made the Playstation so successful, the launch was great with the likes of Ridge Racer, Battle Arena Toshiden, Tekken, Wipeout etc...coming from the platform friendly games snes and genesis provided at the time
It's been several years since I've seen a showcase that's blown my mind. Most everyone I've watched this year has been disappointing bar a couple. The June State of Play and FFVII 25th Anniversary livestream were highlights. With the likes of Ubisoft and Microsoft who played all their cards too early they have nothing big to announce and just give small updates at their respective presentations. Geoff Keighley shows are usually too long and boring with alot of filler. The other problem is leaks, all the big surprises in these shows are already leaked. We need Sony to come rescue us with a Showcase
Release dates for Sonic Frontiers, Need for Speed 22 and Hogwarts Legacy and im good. I never expect much from Geoff Keighleys presentations anymore as they almost always disappoint
@Rmg0731 yeah it's crazy, I did a count up the other day, between switch and Playstation they have 9 titles incoming this year as long as Valkyrie Elysium and Crisis Core make it
August, Sony hardly puts out big releases in Holiday, they usually target July-sept. State of Play will be next month, TLoUII, GoT and HFW all had their SoPs in May
@clianvXAi I think alot more of the PS Studio titles would of been PS5 exclusives like GT7, HFW, GoWR etc... but Sony probably foresaw the chip shortage and made the developers push PS4 versions out. Just my theory. It's crazy you still can't walk into a shop and buy a PS5
@AdamNovice there's definitely a big event incoming from Sony, after MLB22 next month we know very little about future PS Studios lineup bar GoWR and Insomniac games
They always seem to have higher sales expectations from Square Enix Europe than the Japanese side, you barely hear them saying the JP games haven't hit target. Yet GotG, Tomb Raider, Avengers, Deus Ex, Hitman all seemed to miss SE's mark. Time to sell up these studios to Sony!
@Abarth_71 for some reasons Sony games quite often have the hard play through trophies after launch as dlc, they’ve done this with original Horizon, Spider-Man, TLoUII etc…
@Rob_230 I'm still thinking it is a Spiderverse game, Spider-Man games sell well and Sony probably wants to get a lot out in the wild. No different to Sonys film strategy, they have the MCU Spider-Man, the animated Spiderverse as well as the Sony Marvel Universe
I think I've worked out the PS5 title, Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View. It comes out on Nov 2nd, you can't currently purchase it and it got its own blog post:
@AFCC to be fair, was a low key announcement, no gaming sites have picked up the story, just heaps of fans overhyping something that will lead to disappointment
Well it will be awhile off as EAs contract expires in 2023 so it can’t be released until after that. Same reason as kotor remake won’t be able to release mid to late 2023 at the earliest
Could of skipped the first half hour, I thought it was going to end up being disappointing, felt liked they just slapped a few trailers together of games we already knew about. The last 4 games shown made it all worth while
Not liking these months. Too many games I want to play after a couple quiet months playing my PS5 backlog. Luckily nothing for me in November and December. Might go something like this, Life is Strange, Lost in Random(which you forgot on your list) Death Stranding and Kena. Then Far Cry 6 and Guardians of the Galaxy. And if Tales of Arise and Deathloop turn out alright I may play them later in the year before the very busy first quarter of next year

@Ryall that makes a big amount of sense

Meh, goes both ways, we have had Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo, both xbox owned games, plus we also had Physconauts 2 and minecraft games

Re: Best PS5 Exclusive Games
@trev666 it would look something like this
1. ASTRO'S PLAYROOM
2. RATCHET AND CLANK RIFT APART
3. DEMON'S SOULS
4 RETURNAL
5 DESTRUCTION ALLSTARS
I think that's it
Re: Best PS5 Exclusive Games
@trev666 the list would be way too short, I think there's only 5 true exclusives if you take out titles that are on PC as well
Re: Best PS5 Exclusive Games
What's crazy is the quality of Playstation Studios games, every title they've released is on here bar Destruction Allstars and the MLB titles
Re: UK Sales Charts: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Settles for Second as Kirby Conquers
Wow Ghostwire sales are disappointing
Re: Dead Space PS5 Remake Drifts Towards Early 2023 Release Window
Wow, apart from yearly sports games EA is going to have a very quiet 2022

Re: Horizon Forbidden West PS5, PS4 Shimmering Bug Solved
Is shimmering textures loading late? I took a video of the intro as it was terrible

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Is Now Sony's Third Best-Selling Game in the US
So Miles has probably made more money than Spider-Man and GoW in the long run as the production costs would of been way lower

@somnambulance triangle strategy is being published by Nintendo so probably why it’s not on the list

Re: Rumour: PS Plus November 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Leaked Ahead of Reveal
For me personally the PS5 games are getting worse, lame month 😒
Re: Talking Point: What PS Plus Games for November 2021 Are You Hoping For?
@Gamer_Girl_ yeah certainly matches the likes of Operation Tango, Hunters etc..mediocre games, but it fits the pattern

Re: Talking Point: What PS Plus Games for October 2021 Do You Want?
Whatevers on ps5 I just hope it's not Hell Let Loose, that game doesn't interest me in the slightest
Re: Heavy Rain, Detroit Team Reportedly Making a Star Wars Game
@KidBoruto it won't, EA can still make SW games, they just won't have exclusive console publishing rights to the franchise anymore

Nintendos being doing these sort of things for years and no one bats an eyelid, Sony starts doing it and it's the end of the world.

Post show is more interesting

Re: Saints Row Deep Dive Seeks to Allay PS5, PS4 Reboot Concerns
@Falkirk4life I was talking about GTA IV 🙂
@WallyWest yep, have Rockstar on your box means it's an instant 10, and while most of their games deserve it there are a few that don't .
