Re: Random: Cyberpunk 2077 Fans are Finding and Restoring Cut Romance Options Still Buried in the Game

SpicyTacos101

I think the problem is that no matter how much content they try to add or course correct going forward, it’s a case of “too little too late” because I, like many others are already finished the main story. Now were there tons of bugs? Absolutely but it had great storytelling regardless...does this make up for all the glaringly cut content though? Hell no and now that i’m aware each lifepath only affects about 20 min of the intro + a couple dialogue choices (which themselves are not that consequential) it leaves me with little incentive to replay 2 or even 3 times more. Look at the end of the day it should’ve been pushed back & made next-gen only & we would’ve had a better product.

I think more people are realizing this isn’t an RPG in the same vein of Skyrim which I don’t blame gamers for thinking because CDPR itself promised/hyped it up to have more features & freedom than what we got. Truth is it’s more of a linear action-rpg with the ‘guise of choice and having it be “your unique V” when it really isn’t. Now will the next-gen upgrade, Online & DLC bring me back? Sure out of curiosity, but first impressions are critical and unless they throw all these cut things in ASAP like a better wanted system, working trains, mini-games/barbers & so on that aren’t even groundbreaking features in open-world games, i’m sure many will finish the game and move onto the next thing.

Re: Soapbox: PS5's Pad Has Made All Other Controllers Feel Ancient

SpicyTacos101

I’m liking the Dualsense overall although I found the trigger effects to be a bit much in games like Immortals or Bugsnax where specific actions like highlighting waypoints or using the laser pointer for instance is so loud and constant that people in the other room upstairs can hear the controller going off

While it’s nice to get a feel for what it’s capable of initially, I found turning trigger intensity + vibration down to medium/low actually helped a ton for a more natural feeling so I would definitely recommend!

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Crashing Still a Major Problem on PS5, PS4 After Patch 1.04

SpicyTacos101

I shouldn’t have to clench my buttocks & quicksave like a mofo out of fear my game will crash every time I:

  • Drive at high speeds
  • Enter a new area
  • Exit an area
  • Almost reach the wapoint
  • Edit my inventory
  • Craft
  • Allocate perks
  • Play for more than 10 min.

P.S. Any changes to the in-game settings reset back to default after each crash so that’s just the cherry on top

Re: PS5 Brute Force Fixes Cyberpunk 2077's PS4 Technical Problems

SpicyTacos101

The random crashing i’ve experienced has kept me on edge so i’ve been quicksaving like a mofo. Every single time I edit my inventory, craft, allocate perks i’m scared that the next moment it’ll go kapoots and i’ll have to do it over again (along with the settings resetting). It’s an exercise in sheer insanity atm

Re: Rumour: Is the Crash Bandicoot 4 Art Book Hinting at a New Spyro Game?

SpicyTacos101

If this is true and we eventually get a Spyro 4, I hope Toys For Bob stays true to the original 3 and not stray too much with crazy new ideas & mechanics as bigger doesn’t always = better...also I wonder how they’ll structure the homeworlds as they followed a distinct pattern in Spyro 2 & 3 (i.e. based on seasons & time of day)

I think they can go back to the way Spyro 1 did things with each homeworld being more abstract themed, but I don’t really want a gimmicky “time travelling Spyro” for instance (see Sly 4). Also music is a huge part of Spyro, so I really hope Stewart Copeland comes back to compose.

Re: Sony's Secret San Diego Studio Probably Hasn't Closed

SpicyTacos101

I’ve been a bit disappointed lately with PushSquare articles trying to spur doubt & uncertainty for gamers in this already stressful time. With stories of misplaced deliveries, to promoting a non-widespread “PS5 coil whine issue” (see user polls) & now falsely suggesting a studio may be closing with the future of the Uncharted series in jeopardy...I consider this a reputable site overall, but I think you need to fact check better or just wait to post these kind of stories if you don’t have any inside sources to back up the claims.

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Patch 1.0.4 Details Huge List of Improvements, Out Tomorrow on PS5, PS4

SpicyTacos101

No alternate control scheme? I’m well aware that you can remap the buttons, but this ends up creating conflicts due to them making the crouch action the same as climb down/dive & some actions being triggered by a tap or hold etc.

Would like to just have one streamlined alternate option similar to older AC games where the face buttons can be used for combat and not have to search through reddit to see what others did.

Re: 10 Things PS5 Needs to Improve

SpicyTacos101

Just a minor gripe but there should be a confirmation prompt when clicking onto a new game (different from the one you are currently running)...made the mistake of accidentally clicking onto another game when i wanted to check the media app and it was a little annoying having to go back into the game I wanted

Re: Call of Duty Fans Aren't Pleased with the Black Ops Cold War Map Count

SpicyTacos101

That’s the issue with having so many modes to focus on, before Treyarch were simply known for Campaign, MP & Zombies. Now they have to try and balance content for:

-6v6 MP
-Zombies
-Warzone
-Ground War
-Fireteams
-Gunfight

I said it with MW (2019) & i’ll say it again, with so many modes of varying team sizes to juggle it overall leads to less maps for each mode and less emphasis placed on traditional 6v6, and by using the free season model they can get away with only offering 8 at launch and it’s actually defended by the community. Gone are the days of having many MP maps at launch and with each DLC Pack knowing you were getting 5 solid maps available upon release, a new weapon & new zombies map. Now it’s all over the place and they drip feed content to pad things out

Re: PS5's Limited SSD Storage Space Cannot Be Upgraded at Launch

SpicyTacos101

Not surprised, would rather Sony have adequate time to test things & whitelist the drives that will be compatible than provide no guidance and have a bunch of uncertain shoppers (these things aren’t cheap after all)...i’m sure it won’t be long and we’ll have a list of compatible drives by early next year

Re: Here's How Assassin's Creed Valhalla Handles Microtransactions

SpicyTacos101

It’s already $80 CAD ($133 for Deluxe, $160 Ultimate) and then I see crap like this still go on to pad Ubisofts fiscal reports...am I supposed to just say “oh well it’s optional so it must be ok”

I mean is the asking price really not enough for Ubisoft? There’s a reason I never pickup their titles at launch as they always seem to miraculously go on sale by Christmas anyways. It’s sad that people today, even from reading others comments here have been slowly conditioned to think currencies & in-game stores (that req. actual cash) are normal or even defend stuff like this

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want to Know About PS5?

SpicyTacos101

Where is the general background theme on the homescreen (y’know the one with particle effects & all we see at the startup screen) if that makes any sense?

I mean the PS4 has the blue background with waves by default...but from what i’ve seen the PS5 just changes the background to each games cover art when you hover over it on the homescreen, am I just missing something or have we not seen it yet on the homescreen

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Trailer Delves into Norse Belief and Mythology

SpicyTacos101

I’m expecting it to play & feel like another Ubisoft title which i’ve pretty much said about the last few Assassins Creed’s. TBH i’ll probably get it on sale, have fun exploring/clearing the map (which is still way too big), end up not clearing every region, play like 60% of the main story, level up my character and try to get some some cool gear, do some side quests, get bored of the gameplay loop, have the game sit on my homescreen for months, then play it again once & awhile before finally uninstalling it.

I just have open-world fatigue at this point and between having finished Ghost of Tsushima, playing Miles Morales at launch, and waiting on Cyberpunk in the near future this game just kind of fell into the pile of “not essential to play at release”

Re: Unofficial PS5 Faceplate Business Cancels Orders After Threat of Legal Action from Sony

SpicyTacos101

@bbq_boy Don’t mean to sound cynical but Sony is a multi-billion dollar company so it’s ultimately their design/parts and they have every right to dictate what can go to market. That’s just how copyright works, it’s at times ruthless but it’s non-negotiable. I’ve seen people work passionately for years on fan-made games/mods only to have it shut down.

If “CustomizeMyPlates” wanted to start profiting off custom PS5 face plates they should’ve been aware of possible repercussions & Sony shut them down (I mean calling it PlateStation 5 originally didn’t help their cause). Not really a me vs you issue though as Cease & Desists happen all the time.

Re: Upcoming Content for Marvel's Avengers Will Bring Players Back, Says Studio Head

SpicyTacos101

I was really disappointed with the lack of villains in the base game...you have the entire catalogue to choose from & what do we get? Abomination, Taskmaster, the final boss & a few mech fights.

They were clearly saving things for future DLC, but IMO each side activity on the war table could’ve easily been it’s own small side story with a different villain introduced...similar to Destiny strikes

Re: Marvel's Avengers Has a Paid Battle Pass for Every Superhero After Launch

SpicyTacos101

Wait for a deep sale people. If the game turns out amazing you’ll have saved money & there will be some updates & QoL changes in the meantime. If it turns out bad you saved yourself from buyer’s remorse. It’s a win-win (unless someone is holding a gun to your head absolutely forcing you to play this on day 1 i’m sure you can play something else in the meantime and things will be just fine).

On a sidenote I can’t wait for AngryJoe’s video. I’m sure he’ll be thrilled with this.

Re: Soapbox: Games As a Service Should Be Embraced, Not Misunderstood

SpicyTacos101

Well written article! I agree, I don’t think it’s the GaaS model as a whole that’s the problem. I think what concerns me far more is the overall homogenization of gameplay mechanics/systems we see cropping up in games nowadays and how games are being released unfinished or half-baked only to use “it’s a live service” as an excuse so that is later patched or revamped months after release and after the money’s in the bank.

Take for instance Ubisoft where 5-10 years ago each property felt different and unique but somewhere along the way they all turned into being rpg-lites w/ similar open-world design and mission/narrative structures. Now i’m even starting to see this pop up in superhero games such as the recent gameplay reveal of Gotham Knights where you now get xp and enemies have health bars, for what reason? who knows. But in the words of Ian Malcolm “they were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should”

Re: Marvel's Avengers Launch Trailer Is Short But Sweet

SpicyTacos101

The lack of visual changes to gear aside from skins is a real bummer IMO. It makes the whole gear/loot system feel like sort of an afterthought and not as rewarding as it has the potential to be ( I think they can streamline the like 6 different resources you gotta collect to upgrade each piece)...but it’s odd since it’s also basically the foundation of the game so it feels very primitive at the moment.

Hopefully they listen to feedback and continually improve upon the game, but I can’t justify picking it up day 1 until I see more of how they handle things game post-launch. I’m not picking on this dev. or game solely as I do want it to succeed, these are the exact the same thoughts I had towards Destiny & Anthem at launch too and it’s more a byproduct of my hesitation to jump blindly into a game of this type.

Re: Sony to Share More PS5 News and Info in the Coming Weeks

SpicyTacos101

Bare minimum marketing is in my view not really much of a marketing strategy and can actually be counter-intuitive to causing concern but I understand it’s a difficult balancing act. These past 2 weeks I feel would’ve been a perfect time to have an in-depth UI look with a simple date left at the end of the video to clearly say “mark this day on your calendar for a price + release date” so at least there’s concrete plans. Radio silence and speculation doesn’t help much to create create hype as people have lives outside of following PS5 news. At this point i’d just like to place a pre-order and be done with it until later this Fall so I can focus on school soon, but I feel like i’m being ghosted by Sony.

Re: PS5 UI Concept Imagined by Animator

SpicyTacos101

Looks cool! Crazy thing is that we don’t know what the designers & engineers have up their sleeve so it could very well be completely different than what we all think or assume it’ll look like in our head (what we saw was just the initial greeting screen after all) ...but then once we see a full reveal and breakdown everything will click. Take for instance the PS5 dev kit, everyone was posting concepts based on that and what they think will signify a futuristic or next-gen console. But nobody could have predicted the final design.

Re: 505 Games Attempts to Explain Control's PS5 Upgrade Scandal

SpicyTacos101

That’s a piss poor response. Let’s put it this way, I have Control (base game) on PS4 and played through about 60% of the story...while the gameplay is fun, I just got distracted by other games and now it looks like I simply won’t be playing it and its DLC on PS5. If it were a free upgrade, with the option to purchase the DLC then i’d probably finish the game but I sure as hell won’t be buying it again and this whole thing has soured my opinion.
