Played the beta and got the Ultimate Edition which included early access and I gotta say this review is spot on 👌. It’s a fun game with a good framework but it leaves a lot to be desired.

• split screen
• a campaign versus mode
• balance (in terms of special ridden spawn rate, Hordes coming too often, Recruit being a cakewalk and Veteran being impossible)
• easier access to cosmetics which are currently unlocked at random

Those are just some of the things I can think of now. I do wish the Ridden had more character to set them apart from each other too; the scream of a Hunter or giggling of a Jockey in L4D2 made them feel unique. Overall though B4B is a solid B game that just isn’t all there yet.

Zombies in Cold War was actually fantastic, but needing 2 PS+ accounts for split screen was an awful decision. Hopefully the old school days of real split screen return someday

Ok I know this game gets a lot of well deserved criticism, but I’m gonna add Fallout 76 to this list.

I don’t see how they can have the gall to have the cash shop be open in that game but not provide the best experience possible.

I tried to replay this on PC about a year ago and couldn’t get more than an hour in. It’s just not as compelling now as when it came out.

Couldn’t agree more. The over-secrecy of the gaming industry was fun for a while but it’s become an unending slog of rumors and fake leaks.

Devs don’t have to show off a trailer 7 years before a game comes out (looking at you CDPR/ Bethesda) but there’s nothing wrong with just communicating with your fans what you’re working on.

And yes I know “they don’t owe us anything”… they could choose to do something nice for the fans that stick with them through the thick and thin though.

MGS4 is one of my all-time favorites so I’d love to see it brought back in some capacity. 2, 3, and 5 all have their qualities but I just loved the structure of 4.

Anyways I’m pretty tired of hearing about Silent Hill coming back lol. Almost a decade of rumors have really lessened the impact of that headline for me 🤷‍♂️

God of War 2018 is a phenomenal game, but not really close on my best of all time list. 🤷‍♂️ Oh well to each their own

Rockstar has figured out there’s no reason to put the cash cow out to pasture when it can still be milked.

Folks realize though that this delay means any other potential GTA release, or RDR2 next-gen version, is now even further away.

Great news. Just beat GoW 2018 and I loved that it always felt like you’re controlling Kratos. The final boss fight is a perfect example.

It turns out the real final boss is Sony’s communication. Good grief history is repeating itself often on this issue.

Fun fact: the first article I ever read on this site was roughly a year ago regarding Spiderman 2018 not getting a free upgrade. We haven’t come very far 😑

It was good! I would say very good but everything is so far away it deflates it just a little bit.

Unfortunately it looks like another side step rather than a step forward. MW2019 will still be the best CoD experience until MW2022.

Let’s face it. The entertainment industry is moving away from this kind of customer treatment pretty quickly. Sony can learn from these blunders now or 5 years from now but eventually they’ll move away from paid upgrades. It seems like the fans are just asking them to make that change sooner rather than later.

I get a little bit of a smile when I see people so vigorously defend corporate greed, but hey to each their own…

Can’t wait to buy Halo Infinite instead this winter and play it on my X1X, then my computer when someone’s using the X1X for streaming, then on the XSX when I get a hold of that, while only having to buy it that one time. 👍

Just traded in Cold War (surprisingly got $30 for it at GameStop). I might rent this CoD to do the campaign and zombies for a few days.

Yeah people give Asmongold crap, some of which is totally deserved, but he has some of the best commentary on all things Blizzard of anyone out there.

Personally I’ll continue to play Diablo/ WoW Classic knowing my money will inevitably end up with those who were hurt, and so the work they did while being harassed was not in vain.

If you haven’t seen the original film I’d definitely recommend it. Great time capsule piece. Please just stay away from the sequel, and don’t take the reboot too seriously.

Pretty clear with Halo and Battlefield coming up, and MW2 next year, they’re really phoning it in with this game. Don’t know if I’ve ever heard of a AAA title being announced less than 3 months from release 🤷

Def looking forward to playing this, but it needs split screen and offline play to be added ASAP. L4D2 split screen on the 360 was super fun online and offline.

Nah. Director’s Cuts are the new “GOTY edition” and stand directly in contrast with the direction the industry is currently going in. I mean sure, capitalism blah blah blah, but anti-consumer is what it is no matter how you try to justify it. Sony’s taking a lot of swings with a lot of misses this gen on their victory lap, and we’re in a time where being choosy about what companies you support is difficult because of shortages. It’s not like there’s direct competition to the PS5 sitting on store shelves anywhere (at least in my experience). So Sony will continue to pull this stuff while selling out consistently. All we can really do is not directly support their greedier practices; i.e. buy this kind of stuff second hand or on sale. 🤷

Dead Space 2 will always haunt me since I only missed one achievement for that game. You can only save 3 times and each death sends you back to your last save.

Somewhere out there, in the vast of the internet, someone is undoubtedly offended by this 😂

I wanted to like this movie but I found the frantic dialogue a bit overwhelming and I felt like the characters were completely un-relatable. It works ok as a comedy but is a downright awful horror movie.

All I would care about from Tom Clancy at this point would be Rainbow Six Vegas 3 and unfortunately this ain’t it.

I was at first skeptical of the Steam Deck because my Switch has seen such little use over the past 4 years, but after thinking about the possibilities on it I’m very interested. I’ll list a couple why not:

1) you can install windows on it, and use a mouse/keyboard, meaning it can be a much cheaper gaming laptop. Having Steam + Battle.net on a handheld would be amazing. Especially considering most laptops that rival PS4 level power are twice this price.

2) it’s the perfect backlog machine. Most of the games I have in my backlog are older, easier to run games. This is the perfect machine to get into those when your not able to be with your console/ PC. The massive difference between this and the switch, for me, is that on the Steam Deck I’ll be able to play the Witcher’s 1 & 2, portal 1 & 2, and all the indie games I got for cheap and never have never found the time to play.

I mean I’m not going to get it day 1 or anything but I do think this is a great direction for handheld gaming. The switch is kind of a joke in my eyes and considering the Steam Deck is only $50 than the new Switch OLED I don’t see how they’re even comparable in terms of quality/price.

I would play ultimate ninja storm 4, but I’m only on episode 190 of Shippuden and I don’t want too many spoilers.

If they want to lasso fans back in, give this game a PS5 upgrade! I beat this game on the X1X when it came out and I’d gladly play it again on PS5 if it was 60fps.

EA is coming out with their own golf game again next year the PS version needs a crossover tournament called “Joel in One!” 👌

Whether he’s calling for revenge against a cop who hasn’t be awarded due process, complaining about inequality in the U.S. while raking in Millions from China, or flopping on the court then complaining about refs not falling for it, the guy has done a great job of destroying his own reputation since the 2017 finals.

This isn’t Brady or Griffey Jr or any of the other 21st century athletes that get celeb status; this is a guy who’s actively shown he’s not someone to look up to.

I definitely don’t regret getting my Switch in 2017, but there’s no way I’m putting more stock into Nintendo’s ecosystem any time soon.

Nintendo releases maybe 1 game a year that’s really worth getting and now that the PS5 and XSX are out their standards look really low.

Well we know they love double dippers... so PS6 in 2026?! 😹 just kidding, but really you know they’ll find a way to get people to buy it twice.

Anecdotally speaking yes it seems like Blue Box is a cover, and yes, they’re gearing up to reveal something massive.

Is it Silent Hill x Hideo Kojima? No. Could it be one or the other? Absolutely. Either way it’s intriguing.

I’m a huge Halo and Gears fan, but when Microsoft completely took those series in-house both suffered in quality. Gears 4 and Halo 4 DID NOT feel the same as previous entries.

All that being said I have full confidence Bethesda will continue to produce amazing games, which I will gladly play on PC.

I’m actually pretty surprised by this list! Mainly because I only see myself getting Elden Ring out of these 5. Back 4 Blood and Diablo will be my new release purchases before then.

Still need to get FFVII, Ratchet, and Mass Effect 😬

I’ve always enjoyed From Software games and their difficulty, but hopefully ER’s boss fights are designed with solo players in mind. Their DLCs and Dark Souls 3’s later bosses felt like they pushed you too much to co-op.

In what way is that “trash” compared to what 90% of developers do on Switch? Those are all Bethesda titles regardless of how they got there.
