Re: Konami Registers Trademarks for Metal Gear Rising and Castlevania

Shmoo

I have almost no faith in Konami doing anything good with the Metal Gear franchise without Kojima. It’s cool Rising was enjoyable without his involvement but I think Survive is a sign of things to come.

Also mind blown 🤯 that Rising came out in 2013! I thought for sure it released before I was in college.

Re: CD Projekt RED Cancels Dedicated Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Game

Can we just back up like 6 months to when I got absolutely lambasted in the comments for saying the multiplayer would be DoA. The quality of the game itself being really poor when it released was genuinely surprising to me, but I think the writing was on the wall for the multiplayer mode.

Anyways random guy who hated on my opinion a long time ago I TOLD YOU SO!

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a PS1, PS2, or PS3 Emulator for PS5?

Shmoo

I’ve been looking at getting an original Wii and a Gameboy Advance SP to enjoy my favorite era of Nintendo again. I really wish Nintendo would just add GBA games to their VC on the 3DS or Switch. Same goes for GameCube and Wii games.

But oh well. I’ve waited for Nintendo to do this for so long it’s time to just buy everything on eBay. I swear if Nintendo made these titles available they’d make bank.

On the PlayStation note I still have my PS3 so I’d love to see PS2 emulation. PlayStation legacy games just don’t tickle me the same way Nintendo’s do though.

Did anybody else have a dentist that had video games for them to play when they were growing up? I remember our dentist had a headset that you would put on and they’d let you choose from a bunch of GameCube games. Good times. 🪥🕹

I don’t usually comment on these kinds of articles but I wanted to mention that I agree with both of you and I do think it’s worth saying that this is indicative of 2021 journalism as a whole. Especially outside of gaming journalism, controversy drives almost all news nowadays and it’s rare to find a news piece that doesn’t have opinion inserted into it. I’ve come to accept that this is how PushSquare does business and I’m ok with it since they usually label it as an opinion piece or a soapbox. It’s pretty standard to have some bias in your articles since it drives clicks, views, comments, etc. The “why do people replay games” article is the exact same. I’ll say that it saddens me gaming journalism is dominated by this. I went to IGN for the first time in years the other day and couldn’t believe what their site has turned into.

Oddly enough I still think GameStop’s Gameinformer is the best example of how gaming journalism can be done. Sad they had to discontinue the printed version.

Re: Soapbox: Why Do You Replay Games?

Shmoo

My most played games of the past year are all games I replayed.

  • Witcher 3
  • WoW: Classic
  • Dark Souls
  • Pokémon Crystal
  • Breath of the Wild

It’s the reason people eat the same food over and over or watch the same movies multiple times. There’s only so much available that’s going to interest the average person they’ll always gravitate back to what they like best 🤷

@Hyperluminal

While I do think this warrants an article, I know where you’re coming from.

I find my own frustration in this sites insistence on inserting Jason Schreier into their articles. I said this in the last Elden Ring article as well, adding him into this article adds no value besides serving as a name drop. The tweet he put out gave no more information than this article did, and apparently saying I told you so I’ve seen it is worth getting added to the story.

Re: Sony to Unlock PS5 Storage Extension This Summer

Shmoo

Yeah sadly my internal SSD filled by the end of January so I invested in a 4TB HDD for all my PS4 titles. The HDD still works great though I mean all the titles still look excellent the instant loading times just aren’t there.

Black Ops Cold War is the culprit here 😒

Even though I’m waiting until June now to get Intergrade that’s still awesome they’re including FFVIIR next month. Also I’ve always wanted to try Remnant so I’m giving next month an A 👍

Lol where that ninja guy at that’s always approving these things?
