Re: Untitled Goose Game Wins Game of the Year at DICE 2020 Awards

Nintyfan

@ApostateMage Nothing by Rockstar deserve any more attention than a pile of **** in the desert would.

As for the topic at hand, that's ******* sad. A game that encourages bullying not only became a cultural phenomenon, but won this award. No "gamer" with any integrity would have ever played this, and nobody of any intelligence would find it interesting, hilarious, or fun. This is absolutely ******* sad and anyone who disagrees is worthless.

Re: Nioh Surpasses Three Million Copies Sold Worldwide Ahead of Sequel

Nintyfan

@Ziek1883 That wasn't free though. You PAID for the subscription so for the number of people that downloaded it, Team Ninja got a cut. It's amazing that in 2020 you still have people who believe something they paid for is free. It doesn't matter how hard you try to justify your definition of 'free', you exchanged money for a service that allowed you to play a game you can only play as long as you continue paying for said service. Without paying for the service, you didn't get it. After ending your service, you won't have it. You paid to play it.

Re: PS5 Patent Has Some Fans Panicking Sony's Going to Push Microtransactions on Players

Nintyfan

The gaming community has already made it very clear they thoroughly enjoy microtransactions. It made them billions last year alone, so yet again, the gamers failed us. We physically lost the right to moan about them at this point and what's even more frustrating is this is a continued trend of weak will. We lost in 2002 against Xbox Live, people then complained about PSN and NSO recently, but you all lost that right nearly two decades ago. DLC is another one, MTX is the current one, and Gamepass should be on the list as well. Thankfully you stuck to your guns with online passes but holy poo, gamers are useless! If this is how the PS5 is going to operate (I don't believe it will) there shouldn't be a single complaint because you all failed.

Re: PS5 Could Face Delays or Shortages Due to Coronavirus Crisis

Nintyfan

Another political holdup. Look on a Lysol can, this isn't a new virus but it does coincidentally line up with the utter failure that is the liberals impeachment process. It would be funny if you could believe Democrats weren't so stupid but no, those kinds of people really do exist.

Re: Random: Eco-Friendly PS5 Cases Are Cute and Could Save the Planet

Nintyfan

@Mince If you're going to trade it in, why bother buying it anyway? Do yourself a favor and wait for any number of hugely discounted flash sales and get GOTY editions for under $10. Stop buying games at launch, save an enormous amount of time and money buying from flash sales, only buy the games you're 100% certain you're going to keep for years to come at full price. That's just me though, any game I'd have traded in (not many) wasn't even worth playing and no game I loved playing was worth getting rid of.

Re: Sony Will Struggle to Top This Amazing PS5 Controller Reveal Render

Nintyfan

What's with that 50 hour claim? My DS4 hasn't died once since launch, why would I want one that'll die before the week is out?

*Yes, I'm aware, it was sarcasm. Truth is, a rechargable battery is nothing to complain about but many have made it an issue this generation (here as well if they're putting it on the box) from their own stupidity. Apparently they play on the roof or something and only bring enough extension cords for the tv/PS4. If you want to complain about anyone, why haven't you destroyed Microsoft with it's continued reliance on AA batteries, and overcharging you for not only the controller with less features than the DS4, but also for a compatible rechargable battery?

Re: Don't Worry, There Are No Microtransactions in DOOM Eternal

Nintyfan

@RedFinch Which has absolutely nothing to do with Eternal being absent of MTX and shipping as a complete game. I could understand when DLC first started to rise and people were still ignorant to the process, but if you still believe DLC today means they cut out a portion of the game that is required to get the full experience, you're dead wrong. There are a few examples of devs doing DLC incorrectly, but 90% of what is launched is made/planned after the game has gone Gold and the members of the team who have finished their job on the initial game are put on a different project to keep them on the payroll.

Re: Ah, Crap - The Uncharted Movie Has Been Delayed Again

Nintyfan

Not only is this movie 10 years too late to start filming, it's also poised to feature Mark Cuckberg. If this movie ever comes out, boycott it for the very reason of hypocrisy. A gun critic should not be allowed to make a fortune peddling movies where he frequently uses firearms. Paycheck or not, have a f***ing backbone you douche.

Re: Poll: How Much Does PS5 Backwards Compatibility Matter to You?

Nintyfan

BC is pivotal for early adoption, but pointless 2+ years in and even then it's only helpful for the previous generation. As someone who went all digital in the last two years I'd love to be able to access those titles on the newer hardware, but since I also have 2 PS4s and don't ever get rid of my old consoles (PS3 is boxed up in the closet for example), I find it not being used most of the time. What I really want is to be able to finally access my PS3 digital content on PS5, as the PS3 is rather... Weighty... When it comes to operation. Running through the MGS Legacy or Mass Effect/Dead Space trilogy again would be great, if I didn't have to struggle with the OS.

At the end of the day though, I'm buying new hardware for new games and sometimes older games are best left in the past no matter how good they are/were.

Re: Release Date Leaked for SpongeBob Rehydrated, and It's Going Up Against The Last of Us 2

Nintyfan

Many adults were children when SpongeBob first aired, I myself remember the hype up to the pilot and the subsequent aftermath. At this point it's like adults and Transformers, TMNT, Ghostbusters, or G.I.Joe... if you like it, it's because it plays to your childhood nostalgia and if you cannot connect with that and enjoy it, no matter your age, then you have a sad outlook on life.

All too often I hear people saying "yeah, but I grew up"... Why? Why would you want to? Of course we all age and mature, but why would you want, nay choose, to abandon the very essence of pure joy and happiness? Have fun because you only get one chance. I will happily pick up both games and not hesitate to present them to the checkout clerk with a smile.

Re: Sony Insists PS4 Is Still the Best Place to Play with Montage Trailer

Nintyfan

@DominatorV93 Why? Because a game from 2017 will release on PC around the time the new console will release with the sequel as an exclusive? I'm as pro-exclusive as a gamer can be and understand the necessities of them, but a 3 year old title going multi when the sequel is coming has no weight. After all, once the PS5 came out HZD would have been multiplatform anyway, thereby making your previous statement hypocritical.

Remember kids, exclusives are on one single platform ONLY and are the reason to own said platform as it adds value. Regardless of the second platform (or more in some cases), once it leaves the initial platform it is no longer exclusive and therefore no longer adds value to the original platform. A sequel that is exclusive however, that's the prize.

Re: Talking Point: In a Week Full of PS4 Game Delays, Are You Disappointed?

Nintyfan

Not disappointed at all. FF7 I won't be getting until they release the Complete Edition, and personally I think you're a fool to pay $180 for all 3 parts of a single game. Cyberpunk I'm definitely not getting after playing TW3, while enjoyable it's highly flawed and not deserving of many of the accolades it received. I expect Cyberpunk to be unjustly inflated too. Avengers looks like a bargain bin game when I've exhausted all the good games I want to play, and I don't plan on getting VR anytime soon unless it comes packaged with the PS5 (and it should).

I'm glad they're being delayed from a consumer standpoint, but for the devs it means more unsavory working conditions due to lackluster management. Either way their delay has no effect on me.

Re: Rumour: The Order: 1886 Will Make a Triumphant Comeback with PS5 Sequel

Nintyfan

The problem with this game was that the final product was not what we were shown at E3 in any way. Graphically it wasn't that impressive, even for its time, and the story was just too short as well as the aforementioned lack of interest from the E3 trailers. The gunplay was excellent, but the most interesting weapons you only got once, maybe twice, and then the game abruptly ended. It had potential, they just ended up cutting what looked to be the best parts of the world and story. Give me the werewolf hunters, not the civil war.

Re: God of War and Twisted Metal Creator Reckons PS5 Reveal Is Definitely Happening in February

Nintyfan

@BarefootBowser You should already have your answer on that front since MS has gone 3rd party. Zero point in buying a Series X when everything (for the first 2 years) will be available on the 2013 Xbox and PC, and everything after available on PC and TBA. Sony plays nice with PC sometimes, but I'd say the safe bet is getting PS5 and a capable PC. Exclusives are the only reason to buy a console, and MS has clearly made it known they don't care about that.

Re: Square Enix Delays Marvel's Avengers to September 2020

Nintyfan

As with every live service game, only the fools will buy it and we'll have to yet again hear how bad it is for the first year and then how Square's 2.0 version at $30 justified the original $60 purchase since the game will then be 'good' in year 2. I mean the principal of the matter is irrelevant right? As long as the anti-consumer game model features a fun gameplay loop and the game eventually becomes good despite there being hundreds of better games to play at any given time... Right? Selfish, entitled, and weak spined gamers. Stop buying the s*** before it becomes the industry standard! Have a backbone and say no for once you virtual streetwalkers.

Re: The Last of Us Is the Best Game of the Decade, According to Metacritic Users

Nintyfan

@ApostateMage such mediocrity. I've done everything in it and am about to start the Isle of Mists quest and honestly I'm wondering what the hype and accolades were for. The game controls as bad is, if not worse than, a GTA title... Which is the absolute s*** of the industry. The graphics are stiff, the characters plasticine and wet, the VA is pretty terrible, and the lore is mildly interesting at best. I'm enjoying the game in small bites but it in no way deserves any of the praise it's gotten since release.

As for the game of the decade, well, the decade isn't over yet, we still have to finish this year out. TLoU I can see taking the crown though, as long as they're not counting that atrocious multiplayer mode. If so, the rating has to go way down. An excellent game mired by that shallow, dull mode.

Re: PlayStation Classics Bayonetta & Vanquish Come Together with Original Cover Art

Nintyfan

@Shepard93n7 So Platinum going to both Microsoft and Sony first to fund Bayo2 means Nintendo kidnapped the IP? Daft much? Boohoo, you can't play Bayo2 & 3 on PlayStation but you can PLAY them. If not for Nintendo they wouldn't even exist so you're not a fan, at least not one the developers would ever want associated with their game if you had rather seen it disappear entirely than exist.

As a gamer, you should have every console anyway, otherwise you're just a hobbyist.

Re: PSN Surpasses 100 Million Monthly Users, More Than a Third Subscribed to PS Plus

Nintyfan

@TheBuzz We all lost the right to complain about this in 2002 when Xbox brought LIVE to the gaming table. The problem here is, this is what people want, otherwise they wouldn't be paying for it. I myself wouldn't dream of buying a game for online multiplayer, as it's the shallowest thing you can do with a game and no multiplayer game is worth more than $30 at most, but people continue to buy low effort titles at full price with Madden, CoD, and FIFA, so of course they'll excitedly pay for online access.

I am a PS+ subscriber however, not for the multiplayer, monthly games, or cloud service though despite that coming in handy a total of twice this generation, but for the deep discounts on games. I have two of every console in my home and gameshare (the proper way) so getting two copies for $7 or so is worth the $45/yr sub.

Re: Analyst Expects PS5 to Outsell Xbox Series X at Launch with Similar Price Points

Nintyfan

With no exclusives (Halo Infinite and Hellblade 2 for the few remaining naysayers) Microsoft cannot hope to compete. Their biggest IP has long been announced as a multiplatform title and their second next gen game was just confirmed to be as well. They aren't starting off on the right foot and this whole power motif they've got going after years of failing with it will be their downfall.

Now if only people would wake up to how bad Gamepass is for consumers and the industry as a whole, and really put pressure on MS, I'm sure we could get something great from them. I rag on them a lot (they're the solitary reason for most of the awful s*** gaming has produced in the last decade) but when they actually put the effort in, it's fantastic. It's just too bad they only do that once a year at best.

Re: Did Sony Just Tease the PS5 Reveal at Its CES 2020 Press Conference Next Week?

Nintyfan

@Jaz007 to be fair, even MS isn't all too concerned with the XSX. With Halo launching on 3 platforms, not having a single exclusive for the box, and MS going 3rd party, nobody is concerned with the SXS. That's why they basically shadow dropped the console and gave almost no information about it since. The best thing an Xbox fan can do come holiday 2020 is buy a One X, because you'd be an absolute fool to buy the SXS.

Re: Game of the Year: #5 - Devil May Cry 5

Nintyfan

I still haven't tried this game yet, but for good reason. The only game in the series I enjoy has been the wonderful DmC, the original trilogy was just garbage to me, then 4 came out and made the trilogy look decent. Even when you talk to fans most of them really only recommend DMC or DMC3. That alone should tell you how low the bar is set for the series. I admit I want to play 5, even after being turned off by the demo, but I think that's just because I am hoping it won't be akin to the first 4 titles.

Re: Nonsensical Rumour Claims PS5 Won't Have Any Exclusive Launch Games

Nintyfan

@rjejr Microsoft isn't and won't have any exclusives. They haven't had any since 2015 and Halo Infinite is launching on 3 separate platforms, I can't think of anything more obvious than their biggest and one of the most well know IPs, as an example of them no longer offering exclusive content.

Sony will have a few exclusives at launch, as in PS5 only. If a game comes to more than one singular platform at any time, it's no longer an exclusive. Good on Microsoft for continually tricking the media, and their fans. They've been ruining this hobby since 2002 and their PR team has been heavily involved in trying to make their anti-consumer approach appear "in our favor" while simultaneously sabotaging the healthy competition. Everytime Phil speaks, you should listen... I mean actually listen. His "transparency" is full of deceit.

Re: Ex-Naughty Dog Animator Says Microsoft Will Have to Invest Long-Term in Acquired Studios to Match Sony's First-Party

Nintyfan

@Futureshark Halo Infinite isn't an exclusive though. Launching simultaneously on 3 platforms. Yeah yeah, Microsoft exclusive, Super Mario Bros. is Nintendo exclusive but it's on every Nintendo system thereby canceling any actual exclusivity. Halo Infinite as an exclusive makes an incentive to buy the Series X, as a Gamepass title available on 3 platforms there's absolutely no reason to buy it and instead pay another $1 to play it on the 2013 Xone.

Re: Ex-Naughty Dog Animator Says Microsoft Will Have to Invest Long-Term in Acquired Studios to Match Sony's First-Party

Nintyfan

@nessisonett Gamepass is a terrible thing for both consumers and the industry. Anti-consumer on our end, and devalues a product from the developers end. Don't let Microsoft taking the Xbox brand 3rd party fool you into thinking they're doing anything good. Keep in mind that since 2002 Xbox has consistently made our hobby worse while 'making it more accessible to gamers'.

Re: The Outer Worlds Story DLC Confirmed, More Details in 2020

Nintyfan

@clvr MS doesn't do exclusives anymore. Their business model is focused on player count so releasing on as many platforms as possible and requiring an Xbox Live account in many cases is their ideal method of delivery now. If Halo Infinite isn't an exclusive, there's no way The Outer Worlds 2 will be.

Topic at hand, it's good I chose to wait on this game. Now I'll get the GOTY for $20 next summer during the drought season.

Re: Xbox Series X Has a Share Button, Hellblade Sequel

Nintyfan

@DominatorV93 No Xbox exclusives since 2015. Halo Infinite, their biggest upcoming title and also a launch title for the Series X, isn't even exclusive. What makes you think Hellblade 2 will be? I know MS has confused the entire industry on what 'exclusive' means, but gamers aren't that stupid. And if anyone actually thinks 'but can you play it on PlayStation?' counts as 'exclusive', you can go ahead and excuse yourself from the discussion as you've nothing of importance to add.

Re: Looks Like PC Players Really, Really Want to Play Ghost of Tsushima

Nintyfan

@AllTheReddist exclusives are not only the only reason to buy a console, they're INCREDIBLY important for consumers and the hobby itself. How anyone can think exclusives are bad is quite baffling and honestly, shows you know nothing about the hobby and need to gravitate to something else before you and your kind ruin it.

Nobody owes you anything, if a company makes a game and they want to support their console, your entitled and extremely misguided view does not give you the right to demand their game for your preferred platform. YOU buy the platform the game YOU want to play, otherwise YOU shut your gob and play one of the multiple thousands of games already at your disposal and move on with your life.

Just because anti-consumer Microsoft is failing so hard they need to give everything to everyone doesn't mean a company doing well needs to follow suit.

Re: A New BioShock Has Been Announced, Almost Certainly a PS5 Game

Nintyfan

@Eldritch not really, we've known about the game since 2015 it's just that 2K is only now acknowledging it exists. Sucks that it's been going through development hell, and even now that they choose to acknowledge it officially it's still nowhere near completion. Most likely they just wanted to maintain an interest as next gen approaches. I imagine the collection was supposed to be the "here's something to tide you over" morsel before 4 launched but then they scrapped it.

Re: Sony Wants to Make Every PS5 Game Multiplayer with Cloud Controller Sharing

Nintyfan

This sounds terrible in every way possible. Using a single controller but dividing it amongst three people over the cloud is pointless. If you're playing a SP game, why would you want to be in a party chat let alone dividing what inputs you have access to? There isn't a single game where this is necessary. Locally it can be interesting, if only for a short time. As for 'sharing' between players.... Just play your own damn game. Multiplayer has been a fad that's gone on too long and now it's just getting stupid. Here's hoping if this feature makes it to PS5, it doesn't impede actually playing the games. If I'm required to be online to play though, you can count me out entirely.

Re: To the Surprise of No One, PS5 Will Have Exclusive Games

Nintyfan

I've said it since 2013, cross-gen gaming is a terrible idea. Halo Infinite is being held back by the Xbox One, that is a fact. MS doesn't make exclusives anymore, another fact. There is no reason to buy Scarlett without exclusives, fact. Sony continuing to release exclusive games will ensure their brand remains strong while MS continues shifting 3rd party, fact.

Re: Rumour: PS5 and Xbox Scarlett Have Similar 'Very Powerful' Specs, Microsoft 'Well Behind' Sony in Terms of Communication

Nintyfan

@nessisonett considering it's always been this way, with generations being defined by exclusives, it shouldn't be a surprise. However you're incorrect in one facet; MS hasn't made an exclusive since 2015 and won't be anytime soon. If it's available on PC, it's a multiplatform game and with them going 3rd party (not so) quietly, it's no surprise. The only reason Scarlett is coming out is to keep Sony with a rival.

With Halo Infinite launching simultaneously on 3 different platforms, MS has clearly shown they have no interest in actually selling the Scarlett box. They will be repeating the current generation again and that's what they want so they can lock more people into multiple subscription services and finish their transition into a 3rd party publisher.

Re: Rumour: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Is Coming to PS5 'Sooner Than You Think'

Nintyfan

@ArcadeHeroes you truly didn't play the game then, or if you did you simply didn't pay attention. Batman's combat, while sharing similarities, is far slower and more restricted than Spider-Man. As for not being memorable, the dialogue, the set pieces, and the story are all top quality. The final showdowns dialogue alone should be one of the most memorable gaming moments of this generation, plus the subsequent results. If anything it was nothing short of a Spider-Man comic come to life written by Stan Lee himself. I'll agree the world building was little Ubisoft, but it was easy to digest and not feel weighed down.

If you really played this game and paid attention to all the nuance and emotion, there's no way you could have come away as anything less than impressed.

Re: Microsoft Wants to 'Surprise Sony' with Xbox Scarlett, Devkits are Reportedly Rare and 'Nowhere Near Final'

Nintyfan

Absolutely irrelevant. Power has never mattered in the grand scheme of things as consumers, or rather gamers, tend to buy the console with the unique library. That's the only reason to buy a console in the first place, not the controller, not the online service, not your friends list, the exclusive games... Something MS hasn't had since 2015. The Switch, an amazing console with an amazing library, is overtaking the "world's most powerful console". Let that sink in.

I keep hearing people talk about their recent acquisitions (and now their confirmation they won't be buying anymore) and how they'll bolster their 1st party lineup.... No, they won't. When they announced Play Anywhere, they unofficially went 3rd party. Their biggest launch title, Halo Infinite, is on 3 different platforms, the studios they've purchased that have released games on other platforms are selling better on those platforms than on MS'. Microsoft is building a 3rd party service network, they're going to be the biggest 3rd party publisher in a few years, that's what they want and honestly it's the only area where they can be at the top. The only reason Scarlett is coming is because Phil got a late start with having to jump in and fix the mistakes made earlier. Scarlett is a 'good faith' box to appease the diehard fans who are still there but worried. We've seen this transition towards 3rd party for the last 4 years, it's obvious to anyone who's been paying attention. They'll keep taking these small steps until the following generation and by then, they'll be completely setup with their fans locked in.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida Shuts Down Xbox Boss' Comments on VR

Nintyfan

You have to remember, MS doesn't make exclusive games anymore. Jumping into VR would leave their fans with 1 or 2 titles a year and those titles would probably be available on PSVR too, so there's very little interest in that market. Right now all Phil cares about is growing the amount of suckers who will keep paying for his subscriptions so when they fully make the transition to 3rd party publishing, they won't immediately go under.

Re: Random: PlayStation Wedding Cake Signals Game Over for the Groom

Nintyfan

It's a well known fact that if your spouse acts like the one above, you shouldn't be making a lifelong commitment to them. I've been married for nearly 7 years now, we have 2 kids, I'm the breadwinner and she's the homemaker. My gaming has only increased since we all work together to knock out chores just so we all have more time to play, whether separately or together.

If your spouse is asking you to sacrifice your hobbies, you're making a mistake. I could never imagine a marriage with arguments, severe compromising, petty insults, nagging, or any of that other garbage typically associated with the union. If that's normal for you, you messed up big time.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Supposedly Shorter Than The Witcher 3, But More Replayable

Nintyfan

@Col_McCafferty TW3 isn't as great as the fans have made it out to be. It is good, but most of what makes it up is rather forgettable. As for RDR... Well... R* has yet to make a good game and anyone who says they have, I typically ask if they've actually played the game in question or are they echoing the hive mind.

As for CP2077, after playing TW3 I know I'll be skipping this at least until a massive sale (got TW3 complete for $20 and still feel ripped off) and some overwhelmingly positive reviews from people I trust.
