There’s not much for SEGA to promote when it comes to the impending re-release of Bayonetta and Vanquish on the PlayStation 4, but this video which details the compilation’s new cover art is an interesting watch. In it, the artists discuss how they brought the two franchises together, and the kind of feedback they received from original developer Platinum Games.
We reckon the final steelbook looks incredible, and does an amazing job of meshing these two otherwise disconnected franchises together. Will you be picking up this collection next month? Slide into the comments section below.

And yet you show me a Xbox logo. 😆
I might have picked it up if it was just Vanquish as Bayonetta doesn't really float my boat.
in before people start complaining about Bayonetta 2 being a Nintendo exclusive even though they paid for it and published it and it wouldn't exist without them
@ShaiHulud I think they’ll be available to download individually. I only want Vanquish too
Too bad we'll never get to play Bayo 2 & 3 on PlayStation. Stupid Nintendo kidnapping third party franchises.
@FullbringIchigo don’t think anyone cares much about Beyonetta to be honest.
@ShaiHulud @Mergatro1d I'll third what you guys are saying, as I've always recoiled at the sight of Bayonetta, but I'm really keen for a remaster of Vanquish, a game I love.
@FullbringIchigo Whatever for business reasons behind it it’s easy to see why some people would in principle not like the idea of a cross-platform series going to a single platform.
I’d much rather Nintendo focused on new IP like astral chain rather than buying the right to existing ones.
Hella excited to replay Bayonetta. I only got to play the crappy PS3 version, so I'm excited to see the good version. Vanquish is a nice bonus too!
I'd hardly call the PS3 port of Bayonetta a classic.
Bayonetta is a stone cold classic game!!
Vanquish is also rather good.
Gonna be awesome.
@Mergatro1d Excellent, in that case I'll be playing that this year!
@Ryall Nintendo didn't buy the rights. SEGA Licenses it to them to use. Because apparently, SEGA aint paying for it themselves, Kamiya admitted that with 2, and basically the same with 3.
Heck, Astral Chain seems to have been Platinum's idea, but no one wanted it.
Further, I expect the Japanese VO for Bayonetta will be included, which was paid for and recorded by Nintendo.
And I mean sure, we can all complain about once multiplatform games going single platform, but isn't that what Sony just did in buying Insomniac? They made stuff for other platforms ocassionaly and now they cant.
What about studio acquisitions? The Outer Worlds as an IP from the second game on isn't multiplatform beyond PC.
Hellblade was, now it isn't.
And what about IP from one system as an exclusive bought to another, like Banjo, or Sunset Overdrive.
Or remember Final Fantasy?
This is the way business works. Developers will find someone who wants to foot the bill. Live with it.
Both stellar games as far as I am concerned, love the Bayonetta series on my Switch.
Just preodered on Shopto for just 27 quid, that steel book art is beautiful!
@Knuckles-Fajita The way business is supposed to work is that the game is commercially successful. That makes a profit for the developer and publisher. The there is therefore money available for a sequel if the developer wants to make one.
I understand that didn’t happen in this case and the developer was forced to find a new publisher for their sequel. That doesn’t mean I have to be happy about it.
Looking forward to finally giving Vanquish a playthrough.
Awesome games. But bought both one last time on Steam for my collection.
Same reason didn't care about buying Bayo1 on Switch. Go make a new Vanquish for PS5... you get more cash from me.
@Ryall dude, you said it yourself.
The game wasn't profitable enough in Sega's eyes to justify a sequel, so if Nintendo hadn't stepped in, there'd be no Bayo 2, let alone 3.
@AhmadSumadi @Shepard93n7 thank you for the salt, my fries had zero taste before reading your comments 😂
Man every ps4 games should have limited steelcase version, I usually bought digital for $40 games (and under) but I'll buy this game physically for the steelbook for sure
this is one of the most brilliant ways to mesh together two completely random things!! brilliant!!
Great new! I loved playing Vanquish!
@Shepard93n7 So Platinum going to both Microsoft and Sony first to fund Bayo2 means Nintendo kidnapped the IP? Daft much? Boohoo, you can't play Bayo2 & 3 on PlayStation but you can PLAY them. If not for Nintendo they wouldn't even exist so you're not a fan, at least not one the developers would ever want associated with their game if you had rather seen it disappear entirely than exist.
As a gamer, you should have every console anyway, otherwise you're just a hobbyist.
@Nintyfan money doesn't grow in trees my friend. I would rather have everything on one platform, specially third party IPs. I have accepted those games will never come to PS long ago, doesn't mean I have to like that fact, but yeah, maybe my wording was a bit exaggerated on my last comment.
