SEGA recently announced that it’s planning to go green with its future PC releases, shipping its games in recyclable cardboard cases. There’s much talk about the PlayStation 5’s approach to box art at the moment, but what if it took a similarly eco-friendly approach? Graphic designer Dan Tiller has come up with a concept on Twitter which shows how something like this could look.

While we assume Sony will stick with the standard plastic cases for the PS5, we’re not overly opposed to these cardboard alternatives. We suppose the problem with them is that they could very easily get creased and damaged, and they don’t provide a massive amount of protection for the discs inside. It’s food for thought, though, don’t you think?
