Re: How Rockstar Squeezed a Whole City into Your PS2

Blew my mind when it came out. The opportunities for fun and mayhem seemed infinite. Being able to steal any vehicle in the game and drive it anywhere were just the start of the fun. Going on rampages and having your wanted meter go up and seeing the increased firepower called in to be used against you was so wild.

This presser is what made me abandon Sony for Microsoft during the “PS360” generation. Their arrogance was so off putting, and the fact that they were making a machine that was going to be a nightmare to code for, and was exorbitantly expensive made it easy. No regrets. I came back for PS4 when Microsoft took a similarly arrogant approach last gen. Great to be back, but really enjoyed my Microsoft break, too. Got to play Halo, Gears, and Forza, which were all great fun.

@Pat_trick Absolutely. The smart move was to learn from their mistakes and make Destiny 3, which appeals to WAY more people. At this point, they need to start spinning Destiny 3 up, but that'll be years out now. Either that, or get them to work on a reboot/remake of Resistance or a new shooter IP for Sony.

Smart. It'll still be cheaper to make PS5 for the foreseeable, so no point launching more expensive hardware yet. Wait it out a bit. I really don't think the appetite is there on a mass level for the next generation yet. Microsoft are getting into it early because they've blown this one, so might as well pivot with their hybrid device now, I guess.
