If it was free to play, this MIGHT have a chance. As a full priced title…it’s got a helluva hill to climb.

@tinCAT-zero I’ve seen it on sale maybe twice (my friends and I all immediately snapped it up, as it wasn’t on sale for a long time). The best you can do is wish list it in the PlayStation app, so if/when it’s on sale again, you can nab it.

I mean, they could have bought Bethesda and STILL released the game on PlayStation, like they’re promising to do with COD. They didn’t need to take the nuclear option. I don’t buy Microsoft’s BS on this.

Really hoping that they stick to the 1980s setting of Vice City, but I doubt they will.

It’s a smart move. As others have said, Sony don’t have the money to throw at a subscription service by doing day one first party releases. This way, those that want the games day one can buy them, those who aren’t as excited can wait for a sale, or wait a bit longer and they’ll eventually hit PS Plus down the road.

Happy with Essential, personally. I have a huge backlog, so I don’t need any more added via a subscription service (my backlog of Essential games alone is huge!)

This is just one of those dirty tricks that both Microsoft and Sony play. Let’s be honest; neither platform holder plays fair.

Would love a new first party FPS. Even a new Resistance, which I missed out on during the PS3 days. Preferably single player (or with good single player content), and not live service.

Personally, I was never going to go the subscription route for games. I’d rather pick them up on sale and accumulate a backlog that I can play at my leisure than pay for ANOTHER subscription, worrying if that game that I want to play will disappear one day (spoiler alert: it will).

@Rob_230 Was about to say this. No way would they cannibalize sales of Spider-Man 2 by releasing Wolverine the same year (never mind the crunch of working on two AAA games at the same time).

Still grinding in Destiny 2. Got The Witch Queen cheap. I’m moving soon, so don’t want to get stuck into a narrative single player game, and D2 is perfect for short or long sessions.

Sony's making up for lost time! Off to the races now that PS5s can be relatively easily procured. Now, can we please officially start the "next" gen?

The timing for the launch of this thing wasn't ideal: arguably still not a big enough number of PS5s in homes, coupled with massive inflation and a solid but not amazing lineup. And the cost doesn't help either. It looks like a great product, just not one with an inspiring library right now, and too expensive for people looking to get by.

Sigh. Would have been up for this, but I deleted the save before the point of no return. The game saved so often I only kept a handful of them at a time. I just assumed that, when I finished the campaign, it would spawn me back at the point of no return and create a new save. Nope.

Highly doubtful, for several reasons:

1. As many have mentioned, the PS5 is hardly being pushed right now as is. Still plenty of power under the hood.

2. The PS4 Pro was developed largely in response to the advent of 4K TVs and the need for more power to hit (or get close to) that display metric. We don't have that kind of leap this gen (yes, I know 8K exists, but it's not going to be widespread for a long time).

3. The economics of creating ANY console with power under the hood is getting to be almost impossible with the cost of semiconductors and the expense of the tech that is needed. In fact, the price of the PS5 has gone up in many parts of the world after three years. A PS5 Pro would have to be much more expensive. Not saying it couldn't be done, but would the numbers add up? My understanding is that the PS4 Pro didn't sell badly, but it wasn't gangbusters either.

4. Inflation and a likely upcoming recession make this less realistic economically for consumers.

A good variety of good games this month. Not much to complain about as far as I’m concerned.

Got one in September and I’ve been loving it. Paired with my new 65 inch OLED, games looks spectacular! Great loading times and no fan noise are icing on the cake.

I’m one of probably three people who would like to see some improvements in the USB music player to bring it up to speed with the PS4 version. More shuffle options and display album artwork, for example. But I know that’s unlikely.

Oh, and remove the limit from the number of games I can have on my Home Screen, please!

A first party sci-fi RPG? Sounds good! And to echo others: please don’t make it a live service game…

I’d be happy with another FPS that wasn’t a live service, but that’s unlikely (although now that they’re part of Sony, Bungie don’t need the steady income of a live service game).

@PlayStationGamer3919 I don't think so. The game included in the bundle is a download code, so wouldn't count as a physical sale.

@UltimateOtaku91 I was thinking the same thing; it's especially impressive given the crazy accolades AND the fact that Elden Ring is multiplatform.

I pulled the trigger on TLOU2. A bit wary due to the game being described as a “misery simulator”, but it was so cheap I decided to roll the dice.

Replaying God of War (2018). I know it’s not Ragnarok (yet), but got a PS5 recently and it looks incredible! Probably do a few races in Dirt 5 as well.

Feels chintzy. More nickle and diming of gamers.
