The most surprising thing to me is that they’re chasing this trend now, late in the game (pardon the pun), when the vast majority of live service games that have launched have failed. As much as it sucks for those who are losing their jobs, at least it sounds like Sony is putting the kibosh on these games fairly early in their development if they’re not looking promising.

Well, the deadline has passed, and no publishing of the data, as far as I can tell, so…what did these douchebags actually accomplish, if anything?

Seems really early to be shutting down the servers. Sony are really and about this (see: Everybody’s Golf). Feels like yet another anti-consumer move by the company.

Sony has becoming more anti consumer and anti gamer under his watch. From charging for PS4 to PS5 upgrades, to jacking PS Plus prices through the roof, to chasing the GAAS fad, to many other things, they’re showing their arrogance again. Hopefully whoever replaces him is more consumer facing, humble, and an actual gamer, which I don’t think Ryan is.

Not bad! Callisto could be good as a Dead Space placeholder (will buy DS when it’s cheap), and Weird West looks interesting. Not into Farming Simulator at all, but two out of three ain’t bad!

Callisto is an exciting addition; on my wish list so will save me a few bucks.

Is it just me, or are fewer games now offering preloads? I feel like I’ve seen a few examples of this lately, but wasn’t sure if this was becoming a trend.

@AinsleyE Was about to say this. Seems like a really bad time for PC ports.

@Jimmer-jammer It sounds like the “make the numbers go up” for damage aspect of the perks has essentially been stripped out in 2.0 with new perks unlocking new features and new ways to play instead.

@nessisonett Hopefully downgrading from 4K will mean less frame rate drops.

A great excuse for a second play through, which I never do with epic RPGs. But not for awhile; finished my first play through over Christmas and loved it, but need a break! Will wait until the DLC is cheap and all the 2.0 patches are out.

@N1ghtW1ng Yeah, that’s giving me pause as well. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but definitely an important (and annoying) caveat.

Looks fun! Sort of a combo of EDF and armoured core.

They’re definitely talented, but assigning a studio with racing game expertise to work on Battlefield? Seems like a misuse of talent.

Definitely turning this off, but as others have mentioned, great that it’s an option to those who want to raise the web-swinging stakes.

@PlayStationGamer3919 I would be surprised if Wolverine launches next year. I’d say 2025 is more likely, but who knows?

My expectations were low, and it failed to even meet them.

A shame that they won’t get the chance to iterate and improve on this interesting concept. Best of luck to all of those who are affected.

Space Marine 2 release date, please!

Headline should read “Mortal Kombat 1’s PS5 Trophies Won’t Take Long to Finish”. Don’t need “them” at the end; it’s redundant.

Would love to play Starfield, but my name ain’t Richie Rich so I can’t afford both consoles (or a gaming PC). Genuinely sucks that Bethesda games are being money hatted away from others (I know Sony does this too, and that ain’t right either. But Bethesda were multiplatform for a long time).

Still playing Kingdoms of Amalur (which I’m really enjoying, in spite of the lazy remastering), and just started Zombie Army 4, which is great fun. A few races in Wreckfest (probably the best “arcade” racer so far this gen) to rinse the palette.

Wow! Good on him! Looks fun. His parents must be very proud; that’s quite the accomplishment. Kudos, lad!

I was over on the 360 at this time. Sony’s arrogance with the PS3 at launch (I’ll admit they turned things around nicely) just completely turned me off. Plus, I was way more interested in Halo and Gears than anything Sony was doing. My, how times have changed…

Never heard of this one before. Looks fun!

@Smiffy01 I hear you. I’m an old fart myself! I like the RPG elements of modern games, but also really like a good, focused arcade type experience as well. Depends on my mood!

@IOI Yeah, I stacked an extra 12 months yesterday because I calculated that even with a 25% off “sale”, my Essential subscription would STILL cost about ten bucks more than it does now (I’m in Canada).

Yawn. Another “retro” 2D indie game.

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning. Doesn’t look great, but it’s really addictive! Fun combat, loads of quests and loot, and big levels to run around in.

Dammit, the saying is NOT “the proof is in the pudding”, it’s “the proof of the pudding is in the eating”!

Shame. Had higher hopes and wanted this to be really good, considering it was a single player offline game that offered a fantasy themed twist on the traditional FPS. Still may pick this up on sale.

It’s the half assed cash grab it appeared to be from early reports. And unfortunately it’s selling well, so expect more of these lazy ports.

Occasionally. Last expansion I bought was Witch Queen on sale. Worth it for cheap. But there’s just not enough content to keep me going for long. Add the fact that they want you to buy a pricey expansion every year PLUS a season pass…no thanks. Shame they’ll likely do the same with Marathon. I miss the Bungie from the Halo days. They offered great single player plus multiplayer. You could buy a couple of map packs if you wanted, but that was the extent of the fleecing. Destiny constantly has its hand in your wallet, and doesn’t offer enough value.

Just started Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Fun so far! Always blows me away how gorgeous some PS4 games look on PS5 when they’ve been patched.

COD WWII. Just the campaign (was free on PS Plus awhile ago). Another “old” game that looks great on PS5!

Not a huge surprise. Spider Man 2 development is likely winding down and moving into bug testing mode, so a lot of those staff can get started on something else.
