Developer Sucker Punch has confirmed that Ghost of Yotei — set to release in just over a month, on the 2nd October — has gone gold.
For those unfamiliar with the term, going 'gold' means that the game is ready to ship. It doesn't always mean that the title's in prime condition — we do live in an age of prominent day one patches, after all — but retail production will soon be underway, and the launch version will be getting uploaded to Sony's PS Store servers.
In other words, that aforementioned release date is going to stick from this point on, unless there's some kind of crazy mishap over the next few weeks.

Ghost of Yotei has been in development for roughly five years. Its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, launched in the summer of 2020 on PS4. Now we just have to hope that this sequel lives up to what we think is still one of the most refined open world adventures on PlayStation.

Always good to hear
Nice to see the team achieve this with time left to iron out any kinks that may pop up.
I'm looking forward to this one, I don't quite understand the negative attitudes I see towards it... It looks good and Sucker Punch are a great team.
For me, the year has been stacked with great games... I can't keep up but I shall definitely be playing this before the years out!
how did minds eye go gold ?
Hopefully DLC is in the works soon.
Good news 👏
SP is probably in the top 3 for Sony most consistent and on-schedule devs in the last 5 years. They released GoT in July 2020, Legends mode in October 2020, Iki Island expansion + Director's Cut in August 2021, and now they're on track to release GoY in October 2025.
Cant wait for this , it looks great ,seems like it's been ages since the last time I played a game, with the usual Sony polish and excellence , rather than the half arsed crap that's been released lately.
I'm looking forward to getting lost in this one. I don't do a lot of these big AAA games. I spent almost 120 hours w Doom just recently, so I'm glad to have another giant game to look forward to.
Just a PR release but I’m pretty pumped about this one
Always exciting when a game goes gold!
October 2 is my new birthday.
Can’t get here soon enough!
I have pre-ordered the digital deluxe version 😁
got a space in my display cabinet for my new mask!
One step closer.
Can't wait!
I can see a downgrade from Tsushima. Reusing world and object models should help them to improve their quality, not downgrade it. It just looks like a game my smartphone could run..
