We're approaching another milestone here at WAYP, as next week will mark our 600th issue! This series has been running for over 10 years now, which is a truly remarkable feat. Thank you for all taking part!

This weekend, I'll be digging into more Dying Light: The Beast with a few mates. The co-op has been such a laugh.
Jaimie Ditchfield
I'm currently deep into the story of Borderlands 4, but I keep getting distracted by side missions! I am also planning on starting a new save on Stardew Valley, as I'm hoping for a cozy weekend.

Just like last weekend, I'm reading Stephen's Push Square review to hype me up for an anticipated 2025 game. This time it's Sonic Team's Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, so I'm playing a few of my favourite kart racers to fill my karting time until CrossWorlds releases on September 25th.
Stephen Tailby
Once again, I can't really say what I'm playing, but you'll see a review of it in the near future. Apart from that, I'm still droppin' blocks in Lumines Remastered, and might dip into Skate now it's officially out.
That's what we're playing this weekend, then, but what about you? What are the games keeping you busy? Let us know in the comments section below.

After the advice from fellow Pushsqaurians I’ve purchased Diablo III and loving it so far (chose a Barbrian) plus I’m using my Access controller so a bit easier.
Balatro as always is still being played and as far as my gaming slump last weekend well, I’m truly out of it by delving into Inscryption! Game is crazy addictive and weird. Beaten the Prospector and the Angler but died and now can’t seem to beat them again so gonna try for the third boss today and tomorrow🤞.
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
Dying Light: The Beast.
I'm only a couple hours in but like it so far.
Happy weekend all. Borderlands 4 is my main game at the moment. Im also playing two fun smaller games Cocoon and Gun, Gore and Cannoli.
Bought borderlands 4 and dying light: the beast. So naturally, I am now playing gow ragnarok NG+ run. Man, I need a narrative single player game, not made in UE5. Please?
On a side note, looking for the worst laggy lcd screen to play bloodborne on. Bloodborne + OLED = headaches. I buggered my right eye with rugby many years ago, and with the mutifocals i have to use now, i really struggle
Euro Truck Simulator 2: Delivered lamb stomachs from Cologne to Linz for Austrian culinary research into haggis. Delivered iron pipes from Linz to Munich for industrial strength Oktoberfest plumbing. Delivered cars from Munich to Mannheim due to an unseasonal demand for BMWs. Delivered Sulphuric Acid from Mannheim to Strasbourg to lower the pH levels in the town's fountains. Delivered Pressure Vessels from Strasbourg to Graz to contain the results from the experiments into Austrian haggis. Bought another truck to fill my Berlin garage. After 76 days my Ziggurat Spedition trucking empire has 22 trucks and a filled 3-truck garage in every capital city in the base game. Now onto Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary via the Going East DLC.
Hollow Knight: defeated the False Knight - 1 boss down, 29 to go. Got the Vengeful Spirit charm after defeating the Ancestral Mound mini-boss. Have now reached the Gruz Mother Boss.
Avowed: reached level 17 and have cleaned up most side quests in Shatterscarp and am progressing with the main quest.
Lies of P: currently Level 62. Completed Rosa Isabella Street and have made it to the boss fight in Estrella Opera House but the second phase is killing me.
Monster Train: lost as Umbra allied with Stygian Guard but levelled Primordium up to Stalwart Snack III.
All I know is Kingdom Come Deliverance is one of my favourite series right now. Playing both back to back. Got to Kuttenberg in KCD2 felt so overwhelming like reaching Baldur's Gate for the first time in BG3. Feels like they are the only games closest to RDR2.
I finally rolled credits on the first Death Stranding (loved the ending) and with less than two weeks to go to Ghost of Yotei I'm planning to fill the gap with shorter experiences, starting with Unpacking and Jusant.
i’m be playing hell is us and everybody’s hot shots golf on the 5pro, i’ll think about finishing donkey kong banaza but not do it and for non-gaming hobbies i’ll be in scale modeling hell assembling aftermarket tank tracks made up of individual links.
I bought Son & Bone for about £8 and at first I was enjoying it. Now I’m on level 4 of 6/7 and it’s getting too repetitive. The environments are bland and way too large and you don’t really get any sort of rewards for exploring so it’s just alot of running about for nothing. Don’t even get me started on the climbable vines and jumping between them! But I can’t leave a game unfinished so I’ll be playing that to the end.
I'm Banging my head against the wall and playing Forspoken (via PS+ extra) While the game play is fine and the parkor is fun, there's no way I can defend Frey, she maybe one of the most unlikeable protagonists I've seen in a video game, will give final verdicts once I've got platinum.
Edit: I think Stephen is playing Silent Hill f 👀
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: As someone who's not typically a fan of first-person games (excluding Metroid Prime) but who is a massive fan of Indy, this hits a satisfying middle ground. It's a lot of fun looking for artifacts, enjoying the Vatican while occasionally punching out some fascists, and the game looks gorgeous.
The prologue is a shot-for-shot remake of the Raiders Temple of the Golden Idol sequence, and the detail on everything, from the spiders on Satipo's back to Indy's whip and even the foliage is incredible. If this is what the PS5 is truly capable of, I absolutely look forward to more stunning entries.
I’ve just seen the credits roll on Axiom Verge 2 - really enjoyed it, glad I went back and gave it another go after bouncing off it at launch.
It is quite different to the first one for sure, but that’s the point, and I can now see it doesn’t deserve some of the negative reviews it got as a result.
I’d probably have to replay the first one to see if I think it’s “better”, it has been about 10 years… it could well be though!
Its more Far Cry Primal for me, I have my tamed Sabre Tooth now, I unlocked the riding ability as the last thing I did on Sunday, so today I will aim to impale the baddies onto trees, as I was informed I could 😀 I will, of course, also play Balatro.
Busy platinuming eiyuden Chronicles 100 heroes. After that trails sky remake. And sometimes i dig into mechs vs kaijus for a couple of rounds.
I will continued playing fan favorite. The incredible tales of arise with the beyond the dawn dlc.and I will continued playing one of the best jrpgs ever in the excellent persona 5 royal.i will watch my pittsburgh steelers 💛🖤 play.i will watch legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.martin.different strokes and saved by the bell.word up son
Nightreign and Helldivers again this weekend. Just a few runs each. I'll spend most of my time snoozing and watching telly I think.
i.am currently working on getting The Platinum for Trails Through Daybreak 2 while I wait for my Copy of Trails in the sky remake to be Delivered.
Two amazing games that ive been looking forward to start on the go this weekend - Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty on PS5, just as brilliant as the main game. I think I'll literally replay these games forever. I have a new favourite pistol that talks to me eg. when I reload it says "ah thanks, choom!".....that will NEVER get old 😅
Plus I finally started the utterly brilliant Clair Obscur Expedition 33 on GamePass. Been holding off but this game thoroughly deserves its reputation- i didnt think it would be THIS good ! Only just finished the early Flowing Waters level ...this will certainly be GOTY I'm sure. Brilliant.
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
@Onearmbandit persevere with Inscryption. So worth it. I had an absolute blast, even though I was confused as hell at the end when I beat it!! Ha!
Silksong, I've reached the door of the citadel. I could have done that ages ago but I've been thoroughly exploring everywhere else. Before I take on the Last Judge, I may try my hand at a couple of what seem like optional bosses and a mini game in the Marrow.
Have a great weekend everyone!
planning on finishing Lego Voyagers with my daugther. It is no Split Fiction but we have had a ball together through the relatively short 5 hour run time. Mostly at 5 hours because we have buggered around building for no real reason!! It definitely has scope to grow so hopefully they look at creating some add-ons. I am also at 80% in the main quest of Indiana Jones but have been getting distracted by Fieldwork / Side Quests. The clunkiness still remains but so does the fun factor.
Just Helldivers 2 and some gears of war!
I refuse to watch the United match later as my mental health just can't take it no more ha!
Happy weekend my peoples ✌️
I'm still playing Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. Right now i'm on disc 2 at the orphanage before the fight with Galbadia Garden / Edea.
It feels really nice to focus and take my time playing one game at the time. I can observed, enjoyed, and appreciate the game a lot more compare to when i'm juggling multiple games.
Also, by doing this, i think i can dodge burnout and save my money from unnecessary purchase or FOMO. Over the years, i bought some games that i feel regret and in the end they only took space on my shelf. So yeah, i think i will keep doing playing one game and finished it before moved on to other game.
Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
Gonna co-op up and try and get the Hardcore trophy on Aliens: Fireteam Elite… and maybe try and work out if I can change my first Lords of the Fallen run to going for the Adyr ending instead of the Umbral ending without messing any side activities up 🤷♂️
Silksong... I keep thinking that I've gone as far as I can, but then I breakthrough and there's so much more to poke at... I doubt I'll actually get to the end but I'll keep going until I really can't go any further.
@trymer89 super fun game. I am having a ball too.
@PuppetMaster FF8 literally has the greatest intro to any Final Fantasy game ever, that sword fight blew my mind when it first came out, it's a shame SE pretend this entry doesn't exist...
I managed to get the platinum on The Plucky Squire before it left the subscription service on Tuesday which was quite the surprise because I had quit the game in frustration last year after missing a glitchbird. It was supposed to be impossible to go back and collect them with chapter select after finishing the game because the game does not save your progress when replaying chapters. After beating the game, it was the only trophy I was missing and I had eight out of the ten birds. I decided to replay two early chapters and somehow the plat popped. I want to start something else on the service, so I have installed Harold the Halibut and Sword of the Sea. One of those should click. And I might give Skate a try, although I am leery about the monetization. I might go back to Dead by Daylight to earn a few blood points because the new killer and survivor release next week and they actually look really cool.
Enjoy your weekend everyone.
@MightyDemon82
I’m completely stuck on the last Judge. Tried her so many times. Have gotten her to stage 3 multiple times but never finished her off.
I’m not great at these and don’t for a minute think I’ll finish it but really hope to get to act 2.
@old_gamer74 oh I am gonna persevere as loving it. Still not up on the sigils yet but learning. Only played 2-3hrs.
Platinumed Death Stranding 2 yesterday after 195 hours! In doubt what to play next. Possibly I finally start with Bloodborne, or otherwise the Alan Wake trilogy.
Good afternoon.
This weekend I played PS4 games on my PS4 Slim for maintenance and updating the machine. 😊
1. Overcooked All You Can Eat
2. LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER
Silksong. I think this game might break me.
When I get too stuck I’ll be dipping in and out of the trails in the sky demo. I’m enjoying it so far other than the cringe inducing anime tropes/characters.
I finished up Discounty in the week so I’m unsure what to play next. I’m waiting for Ghost of Yotei, so I’ve been toying with heading back to Shadows to try and get it over and done with.
Getting married this weekend so not so much gaming, the Vita will be coming on honeymoon though and I fancy some Sonic All Stars Racing with the new one coming out
Happy gaming folks
I didn’t get much time to play games this week, soooo… when I finally do play something, it’ll be fighting The Last Judge in Silksong at some point and hopefully entering the Citadel.
I don't have time for gaming due to personal and work obligations. But when I get some time, I'll yet again continue with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
I plan to never leave the canvas.
@Mostik Congratulations. All the best for today.
@Hurblyburbly keep at it. I'm sure you will hit a breakthrough at some point. Always plenty to do and explore if you get tired of fighting her. I'm looking forward to my many attempts.
I dropped off DA Veilguard because it was all a bit too safe and samey for my tastes, especially for a Dragon Age game. Also, Taash is an insufferable bratty little child.
Started playing No Man's Sky which is a totally different experience from when I played it on first release and dipping in and out of Skate too.
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. Finished Ys X which was a very enjoyable experience. Now it’s all about Hollow Knight. Currently knee-deep in Deepnest. Weekends are better than weekdays.
Shmup Heaven this week with Earthion and Platypus Reclayed (both superb)
Also a bit of Dying Light The Beast - keep getting caught in the chases at night so ive been putting Mr Crane to his bed at night and resuming in the morning 🤣
No Mans Sky is still scratching my itch (I just found a system called Robopoop IV with a cartographer guild member call Cartographer Dude (apparently you can't rename NPCs))
I also came across a weird little British metroidvania called Horace which is worth a look, it gets 9.5 / 10 on PSN, but I don't think PushSquare have covered it (might be one for Mr Tailby if you're interested).
I'm still finishing off Hollow Knight in the evenings so hopefully I'll be on to Silksong soon.
Have a great weekend Folks!
Played since last week
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – I'm having a blast playing this again. In Suhkothai now, so I'll probably be finishing it off in a couple of sessions. Love it! And theres a lot I didnt do or missed on my first playthrough which makes it all the more fun!
Gears of War Reloaded – Same as last week, still slowly making progress in the campaign playing split-screen with my son, and still loving it. We're on act 4 now. He's very impressed by the game being so good despite it being so old, and it really is!
Sonic Racing Crossworlds - The whole family sat down and played the demo, shame it didnt have 4 player split screen as the full game will have but we all really liked it taking turns to play so I've ordered two more controllers and cant wait to play all together! As a bonus, Sackboy will be awesome with 4 players as well 🙂
Greetings all! Working on Hell is Us this weekend. I Absolutely love the games environment and the puzzles and the lack of a map.
I also fired back up Death Stranding 2 again and Chapter 9 really drove home for me why Kojima games are so great.
Lastly if time I’ll continue some runs in Maniac or maybe circle back to work more on Wuchang
Jump Space on xbox. Hope it comes to ps5 eventually
Back to the Kingdom of Bohemia for the KCDII DLC
Man, I hope @Zuljaras is ok.
Oh, and what I’m playing is Baldur’s Gate 3.
Well, I beat Hollow Knight Silksong finally. It took me approximately 50 hours. It is without doubt a modern masterpiece that will continue to surprise you up until the very end, and then go even farther once you think you are done.
Throughout my personal journey in Pharloom, I’ve heard the discourse online about how difficult the game is. Honestly, I don’t understand this sentiment. This is coming from someone who typically dislikes the Metroidvania genre and am mildly decent, if not bad at Souls-likes. As long as you put in the work it will be a fair experience, albeit challenging, but manageable nonetheless.
To contradict myself, there was a moment in the High Halls where I thought I was going to give up the game entirely. It was an absolute grueling experience that changed my outlook on the game itself. I stopped having fun.
It was that moment when I had an epiphany: this entire time I stupidly hadn’t upgraded my weapon (needle). After retracing my steps and upgrading it to level 3, I beat the section where I struggled for hours on my second attempt. I had another revelation—I’ve been fighting every boss up until that point without upgrades. I could have made the majority of my play-through easier, but in a way I’m glad I didn’t because I felt as if I got more of a raw pure experience. From then onward, I felt like Silksong was literally perfect.
For the first time in a long time I genuinely considered this medium an art-form, particularly with the boss fights. In fact, some confrontations felt like peak cinema, from the cinematography, music, and combat that pushed you to your limits. It’s exhilarating—you feel like a gymnast on a stage meant for ballerinas, and in some instances you are.
I’m now revisiting the game and cleaning up optional side quests and areas that I didn’t fully explore. I don’t often do this. Once I see the credits roll I am typically satiated with my experience; however, Silksong is just fun to play, and I’m still uncovering secrets in the most unique of ways.
Now onto Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.
I am replaying Resonance of Fate (4K/HD) edition and also Monster Hunter Stories.
@Vyse_the_Legend I’ve always wanted to dive into Resonance of Fate; what do you think is the biggest reason for someone who missed it when it released to take a chance on it?
Been playing mostly the DLC for Powerwash Simulator, finished the Wallace and Gromit DLC and now playing the Shrek dlc,Tomb Raider all done along with some of the Final Fantasy 7 and Christmas levels. So addicted to this game!
Clearing Gongaga region in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This game is a monster, packed of content!! Also, scratching the surface of Assassin's Creed Shadows. Even for a AC veteran like me, the game is challenging, at least at the start.
Doing the last DLCs of Borderlands 3 too, another game with a lot to do. My hands are full hehe
And there is a rock festival in my town that I'm helping organize in my town, and it happens today. A great weekend awaits!!
Got the platinum for AC Shadows on Thursday and going to try and finish the dlc this weekend. It's also my birthday today but I'm too old for partying so it'll be a quiet one with the Mrs she got me Dying Light The Beast can't wait to get stuck into that after i finish Claws of Awaji.
I be playing bl4 and trials of first sky and sonic racing on Monday then silent Hill f on Tuesday busy week 😭
The release of a new Trails game is always a big event for me, so if course I'll be playing Trails in the Sky 1st chapter... If I can shift this pounding headache. 😩
@Oram77 Yeah the intro and a lot of CG's still looks amazing even for today. But with SE current situation, i think it's a good thing that FF VIII didn't get milk with sequels, spin-off, and remakes.
Although, i wish the remaster has new / better translation especially with Squall "whatever" and other characters "....." blank dialogues. I watched the video that explained the difference between Japan and English version, and it feels like a different game. Squall in Japan ver looks less ignorant / annoying than English ver.
Got the platinum for Hollow Knight and Sword of the Sea during the week. Looking for a short game before Ghost of Yotei so I’m trying Jusant. Played an hour and it is chill and relaxing just figuring out how to keep scaling up.
Continuing The Messenger this weekend - it's a game that's really blown me away with it's clever design, and it's fantastic platforming and boss challenges, which are tough but not to the point of wanting to smack my controller off the wall. There's been plenty of blue language though - some of the cloud-stepping stuff is insane until you get used to the mechanics.
I love how it turns from a linear old-school platformer to a Metroidvania part-way through - almost like two games in one. The retro visuals are perfection, the chip music is fantastic and the humour is the icing on the cake. It reminds me why I got into videogames in the first place, way back in the days of 16-bit. If you like your retro 2D platformers then this gets a massive recommendation from me.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone.
I got into Dead Cells on Switch lately. I got the demos for the new Digimon game, and I might try the SW: Outlaws demo again, which was a bit dull the first time I picked it up.
My life long friend Chris is down at mine for the weekend and we are having an epic dirt rally 2.0 session..crazy fool brought his racing helmet and gloves etc..probably going to the pub this evening to consume a lot of guiness..have a belter of a weekend folks 👍. Oh @Kidfunkadelic83 I've just hit under 7 mins at sweet lamb on dirt 2.0 🤪
Naruto shippuden ultimate ninja impact and skyrim
@Stevemalkpus Sword of the Sea is great. I smashed it out in 2 days. I have downloaded Harold too despite the mixed reviews. Seems interesting.
Elder Scrolls Online and Ghost of Tsushima. Also buying Echoes of The End!
I am finally returning to Horizon Forbidden West to restart and hopefully finish the game before moving on to BG3 and my GOTY KCD2.
I am in the very opening of the game, and it is great and very pretty, as I remember. I don't notice I am playing a pro version though, but I played on the portal though.
I am wondering whether it makes sense to keep my preorder on Ghost of Yotei - I've no doubt that it is extremely good, but when I'm ready to play it it will be discounted. On the other hand, I got to play Ragnarok via subscription and that game had deserved my money, and was far superior to the 2018 game.
Having some fun on Skate, but it’s just a bit fiddly - like everything is an effort - I can’t quite gel with it.
Otherwise I’m doing some DLC on Spider-Man, which is great fun, but just more of the same.
Might give Hollow Knight another go?
@Mostik congratulations hope all goes well
I've been playing Scarlet Nexus in the lead up to Ghost of Yotei/Digimon Story Time Stranger since it was on sale for $9. It's OK so far. I've also been watch CPL Cricket and the occasional NFL game so it's a mixed bag of entertainment 😅
Have good one Pushers of the Sacred Square!
Had a small break from Hell Is Us after getting stuck so planning to go back in that and maybe some crow country too
Just picked up Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, think Diablo aesthetics, mixed with Norse mythology, and Vampire Survivors.
Absolutely loving it. 🤘
My campaign of cleaning up some games and getting them to 100% trophy completion has taken me to CASTLEVANIA: Lords Of Shadow on the PS3. Haven’t played it since 2010 but I’m rather enjoying a return to it.
Of course, now I finally have my physical copy of CRONOS: The New Dawn which I’ve REALLY been looking forward to, but as one who doesn’t like to play multiple games at once so as not to confuse control schemes, I guess I ‘ll wait on it another week or so. LOL first world problems for sure. Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys whatever they’re playing!
Borderlands 4 👍
Hell let loose and skate.
Have a great weekend!
Still plugging away at Shinobi, I think the next level is the final one. This game is excellent
Like I said last week, I pulled the trigger on Cronos: The New Dawn and have been playing it all week; man, Bloober's really stepping it up each release. This has been the most tense and difficult survival horror I've played in a minute. They really force you to take stock of your inventory and ammo situation before heading into a new area. It started out kinda punishing until you get upgrades and new equipment - I'm just now feeling like I can stand a chance. Loving the setting and vibe, as well. Soundtrack is amazing, and I wish it was available to listen to on streaming services.
Anyways, I'll be plugging away at that until Silent Hill f next week and Ghost of Yotei the week after - which I've secured preorders for both.
Also have skate downloaded, as well; have fond childhood memories of playing the first game while listening to tunes I burnt onto my Xbox 360 lol!
Medieval Dynasty ⚒️
Wow, I still remember the very first WAYP 10 years ago! Crazy how time flies. I love this website and visit it multiple times a day. It’s great for people who don’t use social media imo. Thanks for the memories and consistency, Push Square staff! As for what I’m playing I’ll be out of town this weekend. I finished up my replay of Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the plane last night. Not sure what I will play on the way back though. Probably going to play some games I just recently picked up: Doom (2016) on Switch and/or Sword Art Online: Lost Song on Vita.
Shinobi Art of Vengeance. This is a really great and beautiful game. I also jump back on WWE 2K25.
Fc26 for my sins and continuing to rebuild the forge in KCD 2.
@ErrantRob For the PS3 version I guess bad marketing and some competitions in the same month RoF was released like Bayonetta, Darksiders and Mass Effect 2.
PS4 version was simply a release which usually don't sell as well as in the debut.
Pulled the trigger and bought FC26. First since '21. So will be spending most of my time acquiring a decent squad. Happy Gaming All
i recently started nioh and i got to the very first boss and i struggled so much that i summoned a player and finally got through it with that person’s help and the game opened up to me.
i like it so far and i will be mainly playing that one for now.
Duke Nukem 3D Total Meltdown on Evercade.
Continue Hollow Knight Silksong. I really want to 100% it so I'm taking my time doing that to really enjoy everything the game has to offer.
Metal Gear Solid 2
Continuing my adventure in Silksong (multi-prong attack on the Citadel, just beat the Last Judge); also installed my physical copy of Cronos. Going to be a challenging but fun weekend!
Hollow Knight 2, going slowly with this one, taking it all in. The atmospheric music is excellent!
Haven’t touched Helldivers 2 in over two years so coming back and seeing all the new things has been fun. Still not a game where I feel I can play for hours. It’s more two or three dives and then I’m off.
Been playing a tonne of AoE:2DE over the past months since release. 700 hours strong including the plat since buying. I’m teasing myself to go full 100% completion. Some of the missions requiring you to complete within a time period seem impossible to do considering you’re using a joypad to make quick decisions and commands
I shall be playing Cronos: The New Dawn and a spot of Horde in Gears 5 this weekend, although my games of Horde have not been going particularly well thus far...
Got deep into CO33. It took me several hours to lock in with the combat and systems. But once I got Perrys down. Oooofffff what a game!!!!! It’s got its hooks in me now and I can’t wait till the next time I have time to play it
@judgmentarrows the peak! I spent almost 95 hours on it earlier this year.
@Th3solution haha do not worry I am just fine. This weekend me and my wife are on SPA retreat
@Vyse_the_Legend yea I figured. I just wondered what was worth me putting it at the top of my to do list in your opinion. Is the combat exciting, does it have an engrossing story, is it a sum of all its parts? What has you going back to it that I should move it up the list. Just looking for thoughts.
Rolled credits on Silksong, and then again for the second time, I feel like I am just getting started. What a game.
Wuthering Waves: I recently pulled Iuno on the guaranteed and now it’s time to do some grinding, I’m so excited to play as her with her partner Augusta!
Later on I’ll be continuing playing Ys 9, it has been a marvellous experience so far. £30 was so well worth it.
@TheArt
Hah! So true, I let the game rest after playing the sequence of the game where you reach Kuttenberg and seeing the size of it was amazing.
I have to get back to it, but then I'll finish it....
Uncharted Drakes Fortune for PS3 and Folklore!
I just started Act 2 on Silksong and am very much addicted to Borderlands 4.
Shinobi which I'm really enjoying and Claire obscure incredible game I won't go near any of the recent games until there performance is sorted out
For me, it’s Everybody’s Golf(PS4) edition, CFB26, and Stange Brigade. Have a great weekend, everyone
Borderlands 4 has its hooks deep in me. I’ve been a huge fan of this franchise since the beginning. The open world feels epic, and I actually love the “Ubisoftification” of the game, with loads of things to do as I’m driving around and discovering things, checking out new loot, and levelling up my clone witch Vex. I’m 53, and these games come out roughly every six years or so. And I’m unable to find work (my wife bought the game for me this time). Will this be my last Borderlands game? I hope not, but even if it is, I’ll be enjoy it for years to come. I was having so much fun last weekend that I actually was able to forget all of my troubles and lose myself in the game. This is the power of a good game. Like any great art, it transports us away from the world and all of its worries. Now: time to log back on!
@ErrantRob - Story wise RoF isn't particularly great and the world is pretty dull but the combat system is brilliant. That said it has an extremely steep learning curve and can be brutally difficult. If it clicks for you though its a lot of fun. Just know going in that it will absolutely destroy you at times.
Got dad moved out of his apartment and in with his new lady friend this morning. For a man knocking on 80, he's got some mad charisma. Got my mom's grocery order delivered and some stuff cleaned up at her place. Just threw the football (the American one) around with my son and have a few minutes before my niece is off work. I'll head over there to troubleshoot an intermittent crank-no-start fault. Should be fun.
Bought a new hammer drill so I can finally repair my toilet flange and get it mounted up correctly, have some other chores around the house to get done, some Steelers football to watch, and a block or ten of code to write while my IM won't be blowing up.
If I get a chance to play anything, it'll be Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter on PS5 or Chrono Cross (finally) on my shiny new G350.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
All in on Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter since Thursday
Me and the kids is playing Rocket League this week.
Trails in the Sky. Been waiting on this one since it was announced. This should take me all the way to Ghost of Yotei release. Which will probably get review bombed, for reasons best not discussed here, but I'll be definitely picking it up.
@Zuljaras Good to know. Got worried about you when you didn’t pop up on WAYP. 😄
Hope you all enjoy it!
Had to choose between games I can directly stream as I’m away from home for 10 days. Playing Unicorn Overlord on the Portal and loving it so far.
@ErrantRob The combat is turn based, but also exciting, because movement and the position of your characters is important and you can attack your enemies multiple times depending how close of your enemy you are. Learning curve is difficult but if you understand how the combat works it's fun in my opinion.
Story isn't bad, but I don't think it's well told. If you want the platinum you have to play 2 play throughs, but doing the new game + you can beat the story in 2-3 hours (yeah the game is very grindy). Just keep in mind many story NPC's are weird, maybe it's because in the way the citizens live in the game, weird though that's only the rich who don't act normal.
What made me return to the game, is the combat, which is clearly the highlight of the game.
My cat, King Bob (yes, named for the Recess character), passed in 2023, so I've recreated him as a Khajiit in Skyrim, making the build match his personality and habits. Backstory is as a King-In-Exile. Can never have him back, but his legend lives on.
When I'm not playing Skyrim, I'll be playing Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town and maybe some Agents of Mayhem.
I've really got a problem with buying too many games and switching between them constantly. I really need to buckle down and just focus on 1 or 2 at a time. That said, this weekend is all about Hell is Us. I love the world and how the story unfolds through exploration. The puzzles are nice as well. I'll probably sneak some Borderlands 4 in also. Happy gaming everyone.
Just got back to the hotel room, what an amazing All Out in Toronto! Major highlight had to be that fatal four-way ladder match for the tag titles.... The crowd was so loud at times I could hardly hear myself think. It was worth the 9 hr car ride to watch in person however!
@EfYI Yep so overwhelming didn't know where to start from, matter of fact the entire game can be overwhelming tbh but I love it!
I’ve pretty deep into Cronos: The New Dawn. Aside from the absorption mechanic it doesn’t break much new ground but it beats the heck out of the old ground and the absorption mechanic ensures fights are always intense. I’m not sure what impact the choices have but the plot is clever and I’m curious to see where it goes,
Also played some good rounds of Helldivers though the crash rate on level 10 matches is really high right now (3 of the 13 rounds I played crashed). Still had a lot of fun blowing up bots with randoms.
I started Frostpunk 2. I got past the tutorial chapter but I’m still early in. Haven’t had to make any of the monstrous choices I associate with Frostpunk but some of the elderly did offer to die to ensure that kids have enough to eat (hasn’t come to that yet but like I said it’s early).
Just started dying light the beast its really rather excellent, looks great on the pro
I've been on a Final Fantasy kick, so I've been playing FFXIV for the first time alongside making my way through the Pixel Remaster games.
FFXIV is pretty good as someone who's never played an MMO before. It really captures a classic Final Fantasy feel more so than any other mainline since IX, while still being something that stands apart from the other titles.
I just got platinum in FF1 (first ever platinum), so working on FF2 now! I didn't like the look of the pixel remasters from screenshots I saw, but if you actually play it (and use the pixel font), it actually has a super appealing aesthetic. Highly recommend.
Late, but I was playing and finally completed Shinobi Art of Vengeance on Sunday evening. Phenomenal game, damn near perfect (like a 9.8/10 imo), will very likely go for the Platinum in the future.
Now the question going into the backlog is a matter Princes. Do I invest my time into The Rogue or The Lost Crown going forward? I'm leaning more towards Rogue PoP at the moment playing both back 2 back
@MightyDemon82 @rusty82 thank for folks, much appreciated. it was amazing just over too fast though!
Hope you both had a good one 👍
