So dumb. The business will continue to do well as long as the great games keep coming. And if there’s a price drop (which admittedly seems unlikely in the near term), they’ll continue to do well. Investors getting skittish about a fart in the wind is just silly.

As long as these greedy companies keep raising prices, subs will not only plateau, but start dropping off. Which will prompt them to raise prices again (see Netflix, Disney, etc). Classic death spiral.

More AA games like Helldivers would help keep costs down.

That GAAS gamble could easily plunge them into the red…and it probably will.

Drop (or greatly reduce) the live service focus, give us some new IPs, increase the value of PS Plus Essential, and increase the first party release cadence and I’d be happier. They’re doing a good job, so I’m relatively happy, but these are things I’d like to see.

Wish there was a single player, offline mode as well. Not interested in playing online. But the game looks fun!

Would love to play Starfield on PS5! I know it’s received mixed reviews, but I think I’d enjoy it.

I think the likelihood is greatest of existing multiplats being released on PS5, plus some new franchises, as rumoured. There may be a handful of exceptions (like Sea of Thieves). But I don’t think there’s any way we’ll see the likes of Halo, Forza, or Gears on PS5.

@theSpectre Don’t forget that Druckmann is also working on TLOU season 2 as production spins up. So while TLOU P3 MAY be in pre production, my guess is that it’ll be slowed by his work on the show.

Hate Soulslikes, but based on some of the comments here, it sounds like Steelrising allows you to tweak the difficulty. May give it a go. Definitely going to try Foamstars, and Rollerdrome has been on my radar for awhile, so I’m excited to nab that. All in all, a pretty solid month!

I know I’m definitely in the minority, but a more robust USB music player would be great (eg. the ability to shuffle all music on the stick, displaying album art in the music player). The PS4 could do it.

Fair enough. I love when we get whatever “big” games we get on Plus, but also feel like most of the time that benefits only me, not the dev. And they deserve to profit from their hard work.

Never played this. Got it on sale for PS4 for cheap, so I’m definitely going to spring for the remaster before playing.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. Having a blast, and glad I waited for all the fixes and patches before jumping in!

Still have this in my backlog, but will wait and see what Digital Foundry say about the upgrade. Not a huge fan of roguelites, so that’s not enough to justify the upgrade right now.

Quake 2 remastered, baby! Never played it back in the day, but it’s a twitchy blast.

Thank god. Stick to what you’re good at. Nothing wrong with having a multiplayer COMPONENT to your games, but GAAS is a voracious, resource hungry beast.

Waiting for the final patch and a big discount on Phantom Liberty before I jump back in and start from scratch. Loved this game!

If I ever work from home again, I might get one of these for times when I’m sitting around waiting on approvals. But that’s the only scenario. Seems like a decent machine, even if Sony really skimped on the features.

@2here2there Because it’s a Game Pass delivery mechanism. That seems to be pretty much the only thing that they care about.

This means that the arrogance, outrageous price hikes, and consumer unfriendly behaviour will only continue.

Still playing Horizon Forbidden West. I know it doesn’t break any new ground in terms of open world games, but it’s gorgeous, and fighting robosaurs never gets old!

I buy almost entirely digital. In Canada, I’ve not seen physical games sold cheaper than digital, and Sony has frequent sales that make buying digital a more affordable option. Having said that, I feel like the sales in the last few years haven’t been anywhere near as good as they were during the early days of the PS4 era.

@Netret0120 Yeah, at least the disc drive “bulge” in the OG tapers, versus just being a stuck out chunk in the “slim”.

Still playing Horizon Forbidden West, which came with my PS5. Had to buy the console with this packed in, but I don’t mind; dozens of hours of gameplay, and absolutely stunning in 120HZ VRR!

@PixelDragon I got booted from EG for being critical on a couple of their articles. Not even using foul language or personal attacks. They’re going way overboard with censorship.

Environments look good, Snake looks bad.

@Member_the_game It’s $65 which isn’t bad at all, but I’m still gonna wait. I almost never buy new games right away; better to wait for the patches to roll in and the price to drop!

Just started Horizon Forbidden West on PS5. Stunning! Tried the 40 fps mode but found it too choppy. Performance mode is butter smooth and often hits over 60 fps with VRR. Glad I waited until this one was all patched up.

Will get this on sale, but it looks great! Still playing Dirt Rally 2.0, and it’s very fun!

Will wait for reviews, but previews have been surprisingly positive for this. Love me some Robocop, and it sounds like they may have captured the satire of the first film, and made Robocop feel like a tank.

@IAmAshCohen17 I’d argue that they need to increase their output a bit, but other than that, they just need to keep on doing what they’ve been doing. It WOULD be great if they seriously scaled back their GAAS plans, as well.

Sucks. I’ll admit most of my games are digital, but I buy movies on disc. You can’t beat a 4K Blu Ray for top notch picture and sound.

Looks like it could be fun. We need more giant mech games! Hopefully this one turns out well.

Is there couch co-op? If so, my interest is piqued!

Pretty watercolour graphics, and a chill vibe…this could be a nice tonic to the white knuckle action games I generally dig.

@Sakai Yeah, I think most of the rest of this generation will be a wash when it comes to quality first party single player (or just non GAAS) games. A shame and a waste.
