State of Play

Sony has today announced a State of Play livestream will indeed be taking place this week. In fact, it's tomorrow, 24th September. The showcase will be just over 35 minutes long, and includes an "extended look" at Saros from developer Housemarque. Here's the full brief from the PlayStation Blog:

We’ll share new looks at anticipated third-party and indie titles, plus updates from some of our teams at PlayStation Studios – including an extended look at Saros, Housemarque’s mysterious new title arriving next year. Look forward to nearly five minutes of gameplay captured on PS5.

Here's when to tune in for the State of Play livestream:

  • North America: 2pm PDT / 3pm MDT / 4pm CDT / 5pm EDT
  • UK/Ire: 10pm BST
  • Europe: 11pm CEST / 12am (Thu) EEST
  • Asia/Oceania: 6am (Thu) JST / 5am (Thu) AWST / 7am (Thu) AEST

With the new PS5 title from Housemarque, named Saros, already confirmed for the show, we can turn our attention to what else PlayStation Studios may have in store — alongside all the usual third-party reveals. Marvel's Wolverine is heavily rumoured to be part of Wednesday's showcase, and this is also an opportunity for the suggested 2.5D God of War game to be announced. The chances are high for some new Marvel Tokon characters to be confirmed, too.
