Borderlands 4 FOV PS5

Do you think the field of view in Borderlands 4 is a bit too narrow on PS5? Well, you're not the only one, because widespread player feedback has pushed developer Gearbox towards some kind of fix.

This news is actually a few days old at this point, but the details did seem to get buried beneath the hubbub of the game's launch (and yes, we totally missed it).

"We have heard your feedback on FOV (Field of View) sliders on consoles," the developer writes on social media.

"The team is currently exploring how to bring these sliders to both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions. We will continue to read your feedback & prioritize game updates with your experience in mind. Thanks all!"

Assuming Gearbox actually gets this working, it'll be especially interesting to see how FOV sliders are implemented.

After all, very few releases provide such options on console. FOV can be a troublesome aspect to adjust, since it can impact how a game renders the surrounding environment. As such, a change in FOV can, in some cases, result in performance issues or other technical hiccups.

And that's the kind of stuff that Gearbox will have to test before letting players play around with sliders. Still, the studio's comments sound pretty positive.
