@Akurusu 1) I said some. 2) Mario has been on other platforms including PC. I just called him, he’s doing okay. 3) People will always associate certain IPs with PS. If they get hooked Naughty Dog games they’ll want to get a PS5 to experience the games years sooner.
If some PlayStation exclusives are, moving forward, just timed exclusives, I think that’s great. More money for the devs, more exposure to the IPs, and really, if a PC gamer prefers PC over consoles, who am I to tell them no?
I’m going for level 40. It’ll take me a while but if I play for an hour or so a day, I should get there with a week or so to spare. As long as I’m still having fun that entire time, it’s a great way to spend an hour.
I’m waiting for a team to speak of a project like “Yeah it should be okay, won’t change the world. It’s got a lot of issues right now, there’s a lot of infighting going on between teams and whatnot, and there’s no way we’re going to release it by our internal window but yeah! It’s a paycheck while it lasts.”
Been with PlayStation since the PS1, subbed to Plus the second month in (couldn’t sub the first month because my PS3 had the YLoD and I had to replace it), I’ve spent thousands and thousands on PSN over the years, and I’ve never once gotten anything like this from Sony. Ah well.
I actually just started this game yesterday. I think I’m roughly a third through it already, and if that’s true then I’ll be happy with it. The worlds are definitely less populated in any meaningful way than I’d hoped for but I’m loving the game outside of that. I’ll grab the DLC depending on price
Literally 100% of my games are digital, so the digital version is tempting. That said I do own a few 4K Blu Rays that I haven’t even seen yet because I don’t have a player. I don’t see the point in spending $200+ on a player right now when the PS5 is right around the corner.
I’m excited to play PS5 games. I’m also excited to finally watch the Twin Peaks pilot and The Return’s Episode 8 in 4K, finally.
So let me get this straight. They’ve delayed it by (potentially) weeks due to the poor reception of the leaked material. That means if it hadn’t leaked they were fine releasing it as-is, and that it only would have needed a handful of week’s worth of work to make it dramatically better? Says a lot about their quality standards.
I feel like this was a best case scenario for this title, so I’m happy to hear it! I never played the original but I’m actually very interested in this and will definitely be picking it up at some point. Thanks for the detailed review!
I’ll buy the game once the proper PS5 patch is out. I want to play the best version of the game and I’m worried they’ll screw PS players again, as they did with PS4 Pro support coming well after they hooked up Microsoft.
If they finally say that yes, the PS4 and PS5 versions are launching at the same time now, then I’d preorder the PS5 version right now. Looking at how long it took them to support the PS4 Pro compared to how they treated the Xbox One X, I just don’t want to take the risk.
I sold off some of my possessions to grab an LG OLED and I couldn’t be happier with that decision. I’ve been watching favorite films in 4K, playing visually impressive PS4 games, all the stuff you’d assume. Right now I’m watching through the Harry Potter films!
Stoked to see so many votes for Kena. That game really came out of nowhere! I’m so excited about that one.
I never thought it would be so hard to choose only three games! I went Kena (largely to show support), Ratchet, and Horizon. But omitting RE8 and Spidey/Miles felt so wrong.
I’m not buying any PS4 games from here on out, so I’ll wait for a sale on the PS5 version, whatever that ends up looking like. I can’t say I’m surprised by these great reviews!
Looks a little rough around the edges. If it’s a full-priced release that’s a hard no, but if it’s priced low enough I might check it out, pending the Push Square review of course.
As this isn’t a free upgrade to those who have it on PS4, I’m not interested. This should be an upgrade to those who have already purchased the game. I don’t like the president this helps set.
Years ago I was playing Skyrim on PS4, and I’d become a werewolf. I would get baked and storm through the map, destroying everything in my wake. It was honestly so much fun.
I was going for the plat but only had a few more trophies to go. It was a very relaxed plat, more interested in enjoying the game than anything else.
Well, one night I wasn’t in the clearest mindset and as a werewolf I tore through some settlements, including an orc settlement. I remember entering their structure yelling RAWR! You’re all deeeeaaaad!
Yeah, one of those orcs would have given me the second to last Daedric quest I needed to get that trophy. I didn’t realize that until many game hours later, so I ended up needing to do an entire play through just to get that one trophy, the most involved in the game.
This honestly pisses me off. I appreciate that the cover used in TLoU2 was inspired by another cover, but so what? That gives the person who covered it first absolutely zero rights here. Besides, a slow acoustic version of an upbeat 80’s hit is absolutely nothing new. It’s been done before, it’ll be done again. Where does it end?
At $20 it’s a pass, but once I can grab it for $10 or preferably $8? Done deal. If it were even $12.99 right now I’d probably just grab it but I think the $20 price point is, well, maybe a little out of touch.
I recently did yet another play through of Skyrim, this time telling myself I wouldn’t fast travel.
The first few fetch quests are intended to get you to explore the map, so they’re places that are quite a distance away. After two or three of those I remembered why I’ve never been able to get through a no-fast travel run in Skyrim. And then I started fast traveling again, though only for fetch quests that are on the other side of the map. I found a balance that I thoroughly enjoyed.
@Crimson_Ridley If the game had any similarities or common themes with the movie sure, but that’s not the case here. First translated to English by Isaac Newton, it’s the basis of The Magician tarot card. Anyone that has spent ten minutes either looking into magic or alchemy knows this phrase. I understand that you first became acquainted with it due to that film, but that’s not going to be the experience for most. A quick search for that phrase will show you thousands of products with those words printed on them.
@Aexurion Same, for once it was two games I was interested in and don’t already own. I think Sony was trying to give people more relaxing games during this time, which I appreciate. Not every game has to have explosions front and center.
Even with these updates, the graphics are terrible and the janky gameplay and systems just don’t make me want to spend hundreds of hours in that world like in FO3, NV, and even 4. Even if it were a free game I don’t think I’d worry about it.
Very impressive! I cheesed my first horde. It was one of the smallest in the game, in a random cave. I just molotov’d the entrance a handful of times, killing them all as they ran out.
Life is very stressful right now for many. I like that the two games are on the chill out side of things. They’re actually both games I’ve almost purchased on several occasions. I hope Sony doesn’t give in to the backlash and swap them out as they’ve done in the past.

@Wormold 👈 This guy REALLY likes GT Sport and feels that GT Sport is the bar all racing games must be measured against, regardless of style of racing.

The game looked ridiculous and I was very much looking forward to it, in the way I enjoy a good crap movie.

They should have tied the upgrade to the season pass. That would have gotten them more money and avoided this backlash.
