Re: Talking Point: Is PSVR2 Worth Buying In 2025?

glassmusic

I just wish there was a compatibility mode for PSVR1 games. I sold that headset because it had so many issues for me, figuring I'd just upgrade to the 2 when it came out. Without backwards compatibility with the twenty or so games I'd already purchased, it just seems like a slap in the face. Playing Skyrim in VR is 90% of the reason I'd want this, but unless I want to buy a gaming PC that's not happening.

Re: Mark Zuckerberg Claims to Be a Grandmaster-Level Civilization Player

I used to think I was good at video games. I was always the best of anyone I knew. Any time I'd be in a situation where I could play against new people--people's houses, arcades--I'd always beat them, often outright destroying them.

Then online gaming became a thing and I was humbled quite quickly. I'd love for that to happen to Zuckerberg--some random South Korean kid just destroying him without even trying. Publicly, of course. 😹

Re: Urban RPG Zenless Zone Zero Is Totting Up Tons of PS5 Playtime

Help me out gang. I'm interested in either trying this game or Genshin but NOT BOTH as I don't want my wife to divorce me and I don't even realize it happened. The natural aesthetic of Genshin appeals to me more, but the ZZZ play style looks more appealing. Can anyone offer any advice? I know I could pump a few hours into each and decide that way but I have a feeling I'd just stick with whichever I started playing first. 😹

Re: Sea of Stars Dev Offers Brief Update on Story DLC, Co-Op Mode

glassmusic

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the game, but by the time I got the fairly grindy platinum, I was more than ready to move on.

I can't see myself heading back in so long after the base game came out to play the DLC. I'd have to basically relearn how to play the game, and I've likely forgotten many of the details of the story.

It was one of my favorite games of last year, but my backlog is making threatening gestures at me as I type this.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Caters to All with Completely Customisable Difficulty Settings

glassmusic

I'm so much more excited to play this now. I play games for the worlds and the characters, I don't care about the combat anymore. When I was a kid I beat every Mega Man and every Crash Bandicoot and whatnot, but I don't have all night to spend on a single section of a game anymore. I barely have time to game at all, and I don't want it to spend that time getting repeatedly destroyed by a boss fight.

Offering these options takes nothing away from those who want to play on crushing difficulty. I'm glad that games like this allow players to tailor the experience to their own liking.

Re: FromSoftware Boss Puts Elden Ring Difficulty Discourse to Bed, Once and For All

I've got a mild disability that limits my hands' dexterity. I love the world that has been created for this game but due to the lack of accessibility options I'll never be able to play it. That said, I respect the creator's vision. They can do whatever they want with their own game. As bummed as I am that I'm excluded, there are plenty of other games for me to play.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of PSVR2, One Year Later?

glassmusic

Lack of backwards compatibility with PSVR games killed all enthusiasm for me. I sold my PSVR because of tracking issues that ruined the enjoyment, figuring I’d just get the next gen when it came out. So, those plans were dashed and now I own a bunch of games I’ll never be able to play.

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Director Says Travel Isn't Boring, Your Game Is

glassmusic

I’ve tried to play more immersive characters in Skyrim, where I use the signposts and follow roads and paths. Then I get twelve quests in a row that are designed to basically wander off in every possible directions, clearly to get the player to explore and open up the map. By the time I’ve done all of that I get sick of traveling everywhere by foot or by carriage and start fast tracking everywhere. And that’s Skyrim, a world that is an absolute delight to wander through. The nature is beautiful and often relaxing, but pick and direction and you’ll find something interesting within the next few minutes.

So, yeah, I’ll be very interested in seeing if this claim turns out to be true! I’d love for it to be.

Re: GTA 5 Michael Voice Actor Calls Out 'Garbage' AI Chatbot Using His Voice

glassmusic

It’s to the point where anyone can generate an AI voice from a few clips, in seconds. This isn’t going away, regardless of how people react to it. Getting as upset as some people have gotten over AI is just wasted energy. I understand the actions of unions trying to protect their workers, and I stand with those unions. But the genie is absolutely out of the bottle. Now it’s a matter of learning to live within the new world.

Re: DLC Review: God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla (PS5) - An Essential Epilogue for Fans of the Series

glassmusic

Kind of a random question here—are there any apples or horns from Nornir chests in this DLC? My Full Belly trophy never popped in the base game and I haven’t wanted to do an entire playthrough again just to get that trophy. If there’s another apple or horn in the DLC, sometimes that can trigger trophies that should have already popped. I doubt that this DLC would have Nornir chests, certainly with an increase in health or rage, but I had to ask!

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Marvel's Spider-Man 2?

glassmusic

I can see why they kept the Venom identity under such tight wraps—I never would have suspected a resurrected Aunt May!

In all seriousness, I started Cyberpunk 2077 when Phantom Liberty came out, and I’m having a blast. While I preordered Spider-Man 2, I’m so close to finishing Cuberpunk and obtaining the platinum that I’m going to do that first. Then I’ll play SM2, then I’m going to go back and do all the Phantom Pain stuff!
