Well, this was unexpected. We thought LittleBigPlanet was done, but it seems Sackboy will have a life outside that franchise. He's getting a brand new game for PlayStation 5, and it's called Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
Unlike the LittleBigPlanet games, this appears to be a bonafide 3D platformer for up to four players. It's being developed by Sumo Digital, presumably by the same team that handled LittleBigPlanet 3.
It looks delightful, full of colour, fun characters, and the taped together world you expect from the franchise. We're looking forward to seeing more of this one.
What do you make of Sackboy: A Big Adventure? Change costumes in the comments section below.

Looks like a ton of fun. Neat to see Sumo Digital take the series in a new direction.
Looks fantastic! I can't wait!
Do we know for sure that there’s no PGC?
I'm glad that my Sackpeople returned
@glassmusic I hadn't even stopped to consider that there wouldn't be, but that would explain the departure from the LBP banner. I was wondering how they had improved the editor to enable creating full-3D levels, but... maybe there is in fact no editor.
If Sony's track record is anything to go by, then this will probably be a €40 game, and I can definitely see myself buying it for that price.
Reminds me of Mario Galaxy and 3D World.
This made me smile so much I LOVE SACKBOY Another game to add to my must buy PlayStation list of games
Made in dreams
This definitely looks awesome
It'a very nice of Nintendo to finally port Super Mario 3D World over to Playstation
I think this was a smart move with this franchise. LittleBigPlanet was beat and was surpassed by a way superior Dreams.
@koaeinferno I thought exactly the same thing lol
First thought was "Super Mario 3D World" but as soon as they showed multiplayer it was "Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One" all the way.
@__jamiie
You absolutely right.
I was a HUGE LBP fan but i think it loses its charm in 3d,most of what were looking at from this perspective is the ground lol.
But happy to see sackboy again none the less!
Interesting they've ditched the LBP name 🤔 wonder if that means the series is basically done unless this spinoff does well. Very excited though!!
I've never played any of the LBP games before, hopefully I end up liking this one!
It's about time that Sackboy got an adventure game. This looks great. If Nintendo won't port Mario 3D World to Switch this will be a good alternative for the new gen.
@Octane "If Sony's track record is anything to go by, then this will probably be a €40 game, and I can definitely see myself buying it for that price."
Sackboy is $60 for PS4 and PS5 in the US. Not sure how that translates over there but you guys always seem to know off the top of your heads so I'll leave you to it.

@rjejr Yeah, it's €70 ($83USD) over here lol. I was very very wrong.
@Octane Ouch. You can almost buy the PS4 exclusive swag bundle for that over here, $89.99.

Does that include VAT other there? I do pay about $65 for a $60 game. Even a digital download. Heck, Nintendo charged me 23 cents tax on the SHIPPING for my FREE platinum points swag. Tax on shipping should so NOT be a thing.
BTW I think you got it right, this should be a $40 game, Sony got it wrong.
@rjejr Yes, tax/VAT is always included over here. It's still kinda baffling to me that the US allows companies to show prices without it..!
@Octane "allows companies to show prices without it..!"
Man, seriously, that is the LEAST of our problems over here.
Our cable tv / internet provider companies constantly market ads that are nowhere near the actual cost. Mine is currently pushing a $69 as for TV and internet. Fine print - $20 cable box, $10 modem, $10 basic channel fee, $12 sports fee, $3.50 internet enhancement fee. It comes out to around $120. Before taxes. And these ads are everywhere for every company. Monopoly power and government laxity.
My last new car purchase for a $30k Kia had a $495 "management fee" tacked on at the end after the thousands in taxes.
Unknown "fees" are the killer, taxes I can see and they are usually regulated to some extent. But every company can just tack on random fees willy nilly. It's ridiculous. 🤬
@rjejr Yeah, I'm pretty sure that would be illegal over here. But it's definitely not perfect here either. Internet comes free with my apartment, so I don't have to worry about that fortunately.
@Octane "Internet comes free with my apartment"
Included with the rental agreement free or there was a wire stickling out of your wall when you moved and it works free?
That's kind of how I get my TV channels now.
@rjejr No, it's included. Cable TV is free I think. I don't pay for it, but I don't watch it either. I haven't even plugged it into my TV.
@Octane You kids with your Discord and your reddit, watching the tv programs on your smartphones. Youtube is the devil I say. 😆
We don't watch much tv either but I have it on a lot these days watching my country burn to the ground. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I can stop.
@rjejr Eh, I'll get enough of that on the internet anyway. And I don't even live in the US, can't imagine having the telly on as well! The channels are mostly just rubbish here, and nearly everything is uploaded online anyway, so you can watch it at your own leisure, without the annoying ads every 10 minutes.
@Octane The annoying ads every 10 minutes are a legit reason I watch less tv than I have in the past.
In case you haven't heard I'm 55, I grew up watching tv w/ commercials. Lots of commercials was the price we paid for free antenna tv. Now even the streaming services are $65, Youtube, Hulu, Fubo. Just streaming over an internet we have to pay for. How are there so many commercials!?!?!? Sad.
