Developer People Can Fly clearly isn't satisfied with just working on PlayStation 5 game Outriders because the studio has just announced that it now as a second AAA title in production for next-gen consoles. The team best known for putting out Bulletstorm on PlayStation 3 will develop "a highly ambitious, groundbreaking action adventure title" out of its New York office. This will be done in co-operation with other studios situated in Warsaw, Rzeszow, and Newcastle.
There are very, very few other details to go off of, but the folks over at People Can Fly seem to be pretty excited about the project. The untitled game's creative director, Roland Lesterlin, said: "It’s rare to ever get the chance to work on an original AAA game in today’s world, never mind being part of the origination process. We’re looking for brilliant and curious people to help us shape the vision of this incredible new world we’re building." It sounds like this title is in the very early stages of development so don't expect to see it for at least a couple of years. At least we still have Outriders.

Yeah..... we’ll have to wait and see with this one
Gah, it'd be nice to return to the world of Bulletstorm one day, but seems like that was a one-and-done deal. I still think that kind of environmental-based gameplay has a lot of potential.
I liked bullet storm on PS3 it was a strange but good game.
So this game is not so ambitious?.. 😴
I posted this on pure Xbox, what’s the opinion over here. Sorry not on subject but wanted opinions.
Xbox are promoting cross generations, thank you Xbox.
But five months before release of series x they stop selling Xbox one x. Leaving a massive void for the competition to pick away at.
I know a good few people that want an Xbox one x now and not wanting to wait 5 months to get into Xbox. I sold one of my one x to one of them, who has joined game pass and purchased another controller, commission please Microsoft for doing your job 🤣.
None them want a one s. To under powered for their 4K TVs etc, that makes sense.
So if you are promoting cross generations why the hell lose out in sales of the Xbox one x, leave you self open to the competition for 5 months, with nothing to really sell to the gaming public. Even shops internet pages are less and less in Xbox due to this.
And the excuse of Covid and bringing in a new generation manufacturing etc is no dam excuse. Your competition are still sell rather well their current generation 2 consoles, probably helped by Xbox one x discontinued and they are also releasing a next generation console and are not doing cross generations.
Microsoft you seem to send out confusing messages, with words going one way and common sense business going another.
Nice. I'm looking forward to Outriders. They look like they know what they are doing and still in a customer friendly way.
@Dezzy70
Your asking for opinions here?
So I counted nine times 'xbox' and my opinion is it's a subliminal message. I haven't figured it out yet 🤔
No it’s just me having fun over at pure Xbox and I thought it would be fun to get opinions from push square.
Im guessing pure Xbox will go on the defensive and push square, maybe the attack. It’s fun psychology.
@JJ2
My profile pic tells you what I’m playing 🤣.
@Dezzy70
Haha no disrespect, was just a joke.
I think you should put that on forum. There is an xbox thread (I think).
@JJ2
It’s cool and fun. No response from purexbox yet. It’s probably because it’s the truth and Microsoft PR and suits are all over the show.
@Dezzy70 I have a question for you. 3rd party publishers are going to do what they want. The focus on next gen or cross gen is coming from Sony and Microsoft respectively. Is the focus on cross gen truly for the fans or the result of the MSFT development cycle? Aside from Halo, what is expected (AAA) from 1st part in the first 1-2 years? Everything in the Xbox event seemed a ways out...and Halo probably started development as a current gen title. Microsoft is being lauded for their customer first approach, But I’m not so sure.
I’m waiting for a team to speak of a project like “Yeah it should be okay, won’t change the world. It’s got a lot of issues right now, there’s a lot of infighting going on between teams and whatnot, and there’s no way we’re going to release it by our internal window but yeah! It’s a paycheck while it lasts.”
@FATPC
My honest answer is I don’t care for backwards compatibility or cross generations. And I know as with PS4 the first party games on PS5 will be top notch and made just for the PS5. And we will see this next year more so with ratchet and clank and horizon zero dawn 2 to name a couple. Microsoft won’t have any series x exclusives if we are to believe them until November 2022. And they spread their studios talent to thin and they will still be learning the series x whilst PS5 will be moving onto their second wave of PS5 exclusive software.
I don’t doubt the ability of say 343 if they just had the chance to focus Halo Infinite on the series x only and just a massive open world storytelling. Instead the poor studio have to make it work on Xbox one, improve it a bit for series x and also PC. Then multiplayer this and that and co op and the forge and some sort of battle royal. No studio should be stretched that far. Hence a jack of trades and a master of none.
@FATPC
It's their gamepass business. That's the reason why they cant straightforward say they ll be leaving their subscribers behind. Also the studios they acquired were working on current gen games and perfect GP fillers.
@Dezzy70 Microsoft are famous for dropping platforms like a stone. I was a manager at Game in the UK when the 360 launched and we had 40 brand new OG Xbox consoles delivered one day and recalled by Microsoft literally the very next day.
@FATPC Microsoft do seem to be putting customers first with Game Pass and BC.
@Dezzy70 Everyone does seem to be forgetting that cross platform games for Xbox do get a massive lift when played on Xbox SX. It doesn't just run the same game. Textures, polygon count, load times, frame rate and all that boring stuff are added if you play on the higher spec machine.
However it doesn't sit well with me that MS has discontinued the One X. That machine is an absolute beast and is a far better console than Microsoft treated it.
Multi-platform games are also following Microsoft's lead and offering the same kind of upgrade to their PS5 titles. Sony may say they believe in generations bit that's pure marketing speak to make sure they sound the polar opposite to Xbox.
Miles Morales is just shiny DLC not a new generation game.
@__jamiie
Microsoft are just going in a different direction for next generation and it just does not suit me. When I buy a next generation console I want say the Halo to take proper full of advantage of those 12tflop and the SSD and we know they are not. They are just doing a bit of PC scaling and clever stuff.
If you had 343 and five years just focusing on an open world halo story for series x and that is all, it would in a league if it’s own up there with the best there is.
Unfortunately we are not going to get that.
