I was disappointed in the cancellation at first but then I saw the pitch and thought, nah that doesn’t sound good. Maybe Sony thought the same.

Whenever I see games like this i think "Man, that would be great on the Vita"

I’d want something long lasting but all for this.

@sanderson72 basically what I just said. So the rules are, if you are trying to entice your friend in another location to buy a ps5 then use of a ds4 is allowed. If you are trying to do couch co-op on a ps5 you already bought, well you need to spend an extra £60 a person

I may be mistaking this but does the share play thing mean someone could use a ds4 (on a PS4) controller to coop on my ps5 from the other side of the world but my kids can’t use a ds4 to coop on the same sofa?

I hope this is the start of more frequent updates coming from Sony.

I dunno, I see what you’re saying about the last few and next few releases but it feels like a more recent strategy change that we will maybe feeing in the next 12-24 months

@strawhatcrew people are hung up on what Microsoft are doing because Sony aren’t doing anything. There has been nothing out of them since the ps5 release.

I actually think this article highlights a big problem and that is Sony has become reactionary at best, and complacent at worst. The idea that they don’t owe people who have spent hundreds on a new console with them is insane as well.

I could see a remaster for like a ps5 dual pack maybe. A remake seems pointless as it plays and loosen great still.

I agree this is messy but I expected this when the games were announced after the ff7 plus game was announced it wouldn’t get an upgrade

I am getting to the point where I hope that when stock of current gen consoles is readily available Xbox starts to give PlayStation a drubbing. Maybe Sony will pull its finger out.

@Playstation I think I would leave ps now if they remove ps3. To me that’s the whole draw of it.

@get2sammyb they spent the entire 4theplayers era killing off as much communication with the players as possible. Any slogan Sony uses is a death knell. Play has no limits? Except ps3, 2 and 1.

@Profondo I get the cyberpunk thing, but if this is a glitch, a texture flashing or something then it’s not by design. But I also believe QA should be before a game goes gold.

@RainbowGazelle for about half a second I disagreed then I realised you are spot on, Sony really should tell them to resubmit the code patched. Day 1 patches are not a good thing anyway but this seems a step to far.

At this point I’m not too worried about this story but I am a little worried about how low people regard games? Why are they not held in the same regard as movies, when I retire in 30 years I’m still going to want to watch Empire Strikes Back, why do people think it’s pathetic to still want to have another run through our final fantasy X

Loved asterix as a kid. The game on the master system is one of my fondest gaming memories so will pick this up.

I guess the sad thing for me is ps3 is probably my favourite generation, I still play a fair amount even if I buy less. I feel they were really on their game after early mistakes of the generation and it feels like after the success they’ve had recent they’ve gone back to the old ways.
I really worry about the lack of being able to sync trophies and things like that if they start turning things off which would be a real shame.

My investment in the PlayStation ecosystem is one of the reasons I push on with PlayStation consoles. If they are going to remove that investment then they erode my anchoring to their products.

Notice they did this after releasing an all digital platform and not before. I wonder if that’s a coincidence.

@Rudy_Manchego while I don’t necessarily disagree that it’s gambling to play devils advocate I don’t think this proves it. All this shows is it is a scarce commodity that some rich people are willing to spend a lot of money on.

I think it’s pretty sick though that it must be so scarce in game that spending a grand wouldn’t guarantee you getting one of these cards the traditional way.

So if this comes out on ps5 and PS4 I have to decide whether to buy on the latest console or run in backwards compatibility so all my family can play using the multiple ds4s we have. They really should allow you to use those with ps5 games if you want.

@YeoSprings but mediatonics next game could have been a flop and the studio could have closed. I don’t like all the devs ending up under a few super corporations but I understand why they would sell. Same reason the rest of us would if we made something successful, a safe stable future for them and their family.

I really feel ps now would be better served to adding larger numbers of ps3 games. The services seems to have lost its way a bit.

Issues for vita gamers too. Cross save files won’t upload. My store struggling. Apparently online play is broke.

@Jacko11 there are people that think because they own the games it’s bad. I own ff but can see the immense value in it being on there. My only gripe with the lack of free upgrade is because if I have it digitally as well I don’t have to get up and swap disks

@MrDoug91 what the price increase does is reduces the number of games people are willing to take a punt on at launch, I was quite willing at £40, £50 reduced the pool I was willing to go for and now £70 there are very few I would go for.

I’m a little bit mixed, I think it would be nice for a core few games/properties be PlayStation exclusive, but they don’t all need to be. What feels a bit weird though is when the definitive edition isn’t on PlayStation. I don’t know. Doesn’t really bug me too much. I play on console as it’s just more convenient for me and my kids, coming out on pc won’t change that.

@kyleforrester87 the reality is though, unless the hackers took the code for the patch what they are saying isn’t true. Just a convenient excuse. I’d rather they said it’s going to take a bit longer, or as I say, patch what they have and then a further 3rd update.

How do you delay a patch a month in the making by a month? Obviously a bigger task than they thought? But surely it would make better sense to put out a patch in dev with certain fixes, then another one in March?

I think we should remember Sony certified the game to be on the store because they believed cdpr could crunch it good. Maybe they should insist games work to a standard before they certify a game.
