A brand new game set in the world of Asterix and Obelix is on the horizon. The popular European comic has been adapted to video games before, but Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! looks like it could be a step up.
It's a 2D beat-'em-up in which you play the titular heroes, and going by the short teaser trailer above, it looks to have beautiful hand drawn visuals. It looks like it echoes that trademark art style very well indeed. It's published by Microids and in development at Mr. Nutz Studio — we'd never heard of it, either. Still, these early signs indicate the game could be pretty decent.
Slap Them All releases in the Fall of 2021, so there's a while to go yet. What do you think of it so far? Are you a fan of Asterix and Obelix? Tell us what you reckon in the comments section below.

It's great to see this after TNMT news! Beat em ups are having a moment and I'm liking that!
Loved asterix as a kid. The game on the master system is one of my fondest gaming memories so will pick this up.
@Robinsad me too!!! What a game. I loved the ice/snow level
great Comic Strip in the newspapers back in the day, they probably still have em now, not sure. but anyway, beautiful art style and glad to have more refined looking beat 'em ups. those are always fun to play.
From what I've seen on twitter, its the same leads responsible for the Toki remake. But going further back they were part of the old Ocean France team that pulled off some top Amiga conversions back in the day & Mr Nutz was an original platformer title that came on snes & Amiga.
Not reinventing the wheel, but enjoyed the arcade Konami game so this has my interest right alongside the TMNT game!👍
I love Asterix, and having seen this in motion i am definitely buying it. Hope it gets a physical release
Edit: Asked Microids on Twitter and a physical release is confirmed
Love the graphics. Not sure about the gameplay though
This sounds great, definitely looking forward to trying out the game!
