Well just to counteract the last two comments, I cant wait for this, replayed a bit of the original on PS2 earlier in the year and it still holds up pretty well, if theyve managed to give it modern controls thats about all it really needs.

I personally think there are lots of reasons and lots of people to blame for this. I used to take £40 into a game shop and wonder round looking at box art till something looked cool, well that way of discovering games is pretty much dead now. The £70 price point makes me far less likely to take a gamble on a title, after I do take a gamble I have less money to buy another game so I probably own less than I used to. Things like PlayStation plus mean that if I’m just after something new to try there is normally something there I can just play without having to spend.
Then in game creation there seems to be a lot of companies trying to tell us what we want to play rather than just listening. They then over estimate how big their audience is based on the number of buzz words they’ve found, the large budget, well who sets those? It’s not like you can’t make a game on a lower budget. There are so many problems in the industry at the moment but for teams that approach it right it can be quite lucrative still.

@Chupa_loyzer I think the problem is it’s down to business decisions but it’s not the people making those decisions that get laid off. The games that have been made are good but it’s the devs get laid off. The games however lack wide appeal, certainly not the appeal the decision makes anticipated, but they are the ones that keep their job.

@hi_drnick well I’m paying for a service and the quality of it has dipped drastically over the last few months.

The amount of quality leaving over the last few month is really worrying.

I can imagine it was a feature for game devs to allow them to set the screen to their news but Sony set the default the wrong way round. I've seen people report it would make perfect sense to live service games like Genshin Impact. Which it would. Hopefully thats all this was.

I genuinely think moving away from geralt will be such a bad decision for this franchise. Sure other characters are cool but I think it will end up so generic. Guess time will tell.

Dont really care what he's saying but I'm tired of people dunking on Colonial Marines. I enjoyed it. I get as a full price title it fell short and was a long way below what it was marketed as but given how quick it was at 2.99 it was more than worth that. I played through to the end, had a good time and thats more than i can say about a lot of titles.

I think it would make sense but are we assuming ps5 pro this year? if so I wouldnt expect this until Christmas 25

@FullMetalWesker I could die tomorrow and my kids would lose all their video games, seems a reason for caring, rather than some hypothetical where tech means we can no longer play anyway.

@zekepliskin I imagine they have a policy to cull accounts that haven’t been accessed in x amount of time. So in theory if you took a 5 year break from ps you may find your account gone.

I die and as my kids go to take some solace in playing our favourite game one more time they realise the licence has been revoked, good job Sony

Literally bought AEW in May for my son, typical. He’s really enjoying it though, it’s a fun wrestling game with a decent roster.

If people had given it a shot I’m sure they would have loved it. Although blade and wolverine in book club just felt weird to me.

Creating a movie or show with an already built in audience should be such a home run, but then show runners seem to do everything they can to annoy that audience and then call them names. It baffles me.

My Portal has been my favorite purchase in years, I wish it could get a little more attention, maybe bring Plus streaming to it.

I've enjoyed watching this and played the gatcha mobile game somewhat so looking forward to this.

They really need to be keeping some of these on. Seems like a big hit to the platform. They’ll prob be off for a month and then they’ll make some kind of big event about adding all these final fantasy games to the platform.

For a long time I’ve not cared, and I can’t say I care too much now either, but I feel that graphics have gotten so good I’ll always opt for performance now as the difference seems negligible to me.

Might seem odd but the only way I’d consider the ps5 pro was if it played ps3 games

@Bingbongboyo 100% 4 player Co op please. Some of my best gaming times at the moment is playing shredders revenge with my boys.

I think there are a lot more people with the specific situation this helps with than people thought. Gamers are continuing to get older and this is a godsend. 80% of my ps5 gaming is on this and I wish they would bring plus streaming to it.

@JokerBoy422 to be fair the ones I would play are older, gears of war, halo maybe a forza or two. It would be good to know Bethesda games were coming too, even though I couldn’t get into starfield.

Does anyone know why? Like is it setting up something else? Or does it have micro transactions? Little trauma stickers perhaps? Free game just doesn’t really add up.

It’s a great device and requires minimum support so prob great for Sony. Just wish they’d hurry up and bring Plus streaming to it.

I worry this could result in rocksteady getting shut down.

It’s currently in the January sale on limited run,just picked one up. Only problem is shipping and delivery taxes aren’t cheap.

I agree with him to an extent. 2018 I really enjoyed but Ragnarok felt a little off in some way, its hard to exactly pinpoint but it did feel like he had gone too far the other way.

@RadioHedgeFund sales of perfect dark 2.5 million, sales of horizon forbidden west 8.5 million. Thats £150million verses £510million. The increase in demand for games is what should keep the price down despite the increase in development costs. Basically publishers spend more on games for a bigger piece of the pie. They are generally not hurting for money.

Think I must have missed blade runner coming out. Is it a good port?

@PenguinLtd no, its why my vita is prob used more than my ps5, i'll keep volume low ish and play through some things. diablo and persona have been favourites of remote play for me in the past.
And given the aging gaming populace I'm not sure its that niche a situation any more

@PenguinLtd as a 41 year old dad this actually makes perfect sense for me. Sure I could buy another TV but locking myself away in a separate room to everyone else is not going to win me any prizes. Picking this up and playing a bit of diablo on the sofa when others are watching tv though sounds good.

@Member_the_game I was hoping for 150 too, the way I’ve tried to justify it is Sony are not selling games for this, so I would assume it needs a larger profit margin than say a switch lite when Nintendo would look to profit from games.

What’s included in that 954b ? Micro transactions? DLC? Subscriptions? When you’ve drilled into it you say only 2/3 of game sales are digital. Yet a number of smaller titles especially are digital only?
These stats feel like they are massaged a little to push an agenda of digital sales.
