Re: Dodgeball Academia (PS4) - Punchy Sports RPG Is Top Class

@Fenbops Yes! I've got that one on Switch. It's a lot of fun. It's not really straight golf though but still really good. I'm pretty sure they're currently working on a sequel which is actually tennis based.

I just want more of this kind of rpg sport games and from different creators. I love those classic GBC/GBA Mario golf/tennis games. Everybody's Golf on playstation as well. The modern Mario sports games on Switch all seem very disappointing unfortunately. Thankfully there's a couple of indies that clearly share my love for this style of game.

That tennis game is absolutely bloody awful. I honestly have idea how your reviewer gave it a 7. I don't care how little competition there is in the genre, a terrible game is a terrible game.

Edit: it was you Sammy! You must have been in a really generous mood or dying for a tennis game to play. I feel you on the last one. At this point I'd pay good money for a Top Spin remake.

Re: Far Cry 6 DLC Will Feature Previous Villains, Including Vaas

It looked terrible imo. Dream/hallucination stuff in media is a huge pet peeve of mine. Just a bunch sequences that don't matter because it's all a dream or vision. Random stuff occurs just because and everything looks weird. I hate it. This looks like a whole mode of it. No thanks.

Not to mention how much they overestimate how good their antagonists are. Yes, Vaas was excellent. The Tibet moantain guy was okay. The hillbilly was them trying way too hard and just ended being cliché af. It feels like they're trying to gaslight us into believing they're iconic characters people cares about. Sorry Ubisoft, banging on about how great they were doesn't make it so. It's really not a surprise coming from the people that think the final boss of generic protagonists, Aiden Pearce, is an iconic character...

Re: Mini Review: King of Seas (PS4) - A Slow But Seaworthy Pirate RPG

I played the demo on XBSX. Was not impressed. Terrible art style. Boring, cliché setting, story and dialogue that feels like a bad kids cartoon and the ship stuff felt like Sid Meier's Pirates! with none of the charm that made that game a classic.

They also call different cannon shot "bullets". I know it's a small thing but if you're making a pirate game and don't bother to have even the most basic knowledge of the genre it doesn't bode well for the final product Imo.

Re: Biomutant (PS4) - The Classic Case of What Could Have Been

It's reviewing worse than my expectations. Such a shame. It looked like it had potential.

I had an inkling it wouldn't be great when I wasn't seeing a bunch of early gameplay impressions. If you've got a new IP and have faith in the final product if think you'd want to get it in the hands of some people a couple of weeks early so they can put out gameplay footage aNd let potential customers know it's a product worth being interested in. I didn't see anything like that. I think they knew what they had.
