Yeah, it was. In the demo though it's just a plain 2 minute score attack run. No objectives or anything which is a bit of a bummer. It does feel good to play though and gives a glimpse of how they're giving 3 styles, one that plays the same as THPS1, another that plays like THPS2 and a third which is basically all the bells and whistles that would be added later like reverts, wall pushes, button press trannies etc. It's pretty cool stuff.

“I don’t have a stake in that race."

Press [X] to doubt.

Even if the system is more powerful on paper if next gen plays out like the last Sony is going to have the better first party line up by a long margin. I'm not even a fan boy, I'll probably end up with both just as I have both current gen systems. But there's a reason why my xbox controller (which I've never liked tbh) is covered in dust. The only upsides it has is BC and Game pass. Even with that it's still sitting there unused. On ps4 I went from playing TLOU2 straight to Ghosts of Tsushima. I can't even remember the last exclusive game on Xbox I played.

I really don't see how you can give any major edge to Microsoft. If it's your personal main platform that's fair enough but I don't see why if you're looking at it with no bias you would put your faith in a company that can't even make a decent UI for their last system or come up with a name that doesn't confuse most people. The hardware might be great, the support behind it is where it will fall flat if they didn't learn a lot from this gen. They've not shown any evidence that they have Imo. They're leading with Halo Infinite as their killer app atm ffs.

Re: Mafia II: Definitive Edition's PS4 Trophy List Is Awfully Familiar

Looking at the video and screenshots on psn this looks more like one of those quickie ps3 to ps4 ports. Disappointing given how great the Mafia 1 remaster looks but Mafia 2 is still a great game anyway. Definitely recommend it for those that haven't played it. Not sure if I'm going to double dip and buy the trilogy though. I already own 3 with the season pass and played 2 last gen. Might just pick up the Mafia 1 remaster when it goes on sale.

The only thing I'm disappointed about is that I already own Skylines. I've almost bought Farming Sim on sale a couple of times so this is a nice way to try it out with no risk. Hopefully they put the dlc on sale too.

In a way I think they misstepped here but only in the sense that they chose two games in pretty niche genres in the same month. They probably should have spread them out.

Tbh though, last month we got Uncharted 4 and DIRT 2 and they gave away the Uncharted collection to everyone. Now people are getting two well received games but they're not blockbusters so they're whinging. Pretty sad.

Re: Live: Watch as We Shave Seconds Off Our Laps in TrackMania Turbo

I was looking forward to this but after having played the beta/demo I'm not sold. The cars just handle weirdly. It feels like they weigh nothing. There's no sense of inertia so even when you do a really long drift it doesn't feel satisfying. Honestly, with the physics they use for the cars it would make more sense for the game to be a Wipe0ut style hover car racer.

Also, there's a lot of stunt sections and jumps but they don't feel exciting or visceral. There's no feeling of a big "thunk" when you hit the ground after a big jump or any sense that you have to keep a lightning pace while doing a loop to loop lest you fall of the face of the track.

If you're a time trials nut and really love to keep going for a best time the game might be of interest but for those who want what the game looks like at a glance you might be disappointed.
