I love this stuff. Free updates to older games gives me hope we may see some for other quality PS4 games.

Also a perfect excuse for me to replay this awesome game. That is, when I can eventually get hold of a PS5!!

For me this is the best lineup I can recall. all 3 games I've wanted and Control being the Ultimate edition is awesome.

I've been trying to get one now for over 3 months. Sat waiting in website queues, checking around all the sites every day. I've had my fingertips on the PS5 a few times. Added to the basket, but just can't complete the order as yet.

My question is can you expand a little on how importing Hitman 1 and 2 for free works. Are they enhanced much? Does the game simply check you own the game or do you need it installed on the PS5? You say its free but I assume you mean free to import only if you own them previously on PS4? I have Hitman 1 due to it being free on PS Plus a few years back but I'm guessing I'd need to buy Hitman 2 if I want to play that in Hitman 3. Also what's the point when I could simply just play Hitman 1 or 2 separately? Sorry I'm confused easiĺy.

I'd like to see a new IP first then TLoU3.

Nice, I just got this for Christmas. I may hold off starting it until I've found a PS5.

Also, it gives me hope that we may get something similar for FF7 Remake, Death Stranding and hopefully The Last of Us 2. I would happily replay all of them.

So can I check something if anyone can help. I've never really played the Hitman games but I am interested.

So buying Hitman 3 gets you all 3 games. Is that correct? Is it pointless buying the first 2 games if the third one includes all of 1 and 2? or am I missing something? Do we have to own 1 and 2 to get the previous content in 3?

Really happy with this month. I'd like to play all 3 games. I think the Plus games have got much better over the last year or so. And the extra PS5 games are a huge incentive to get the PS5 as soon as I find one in stock.

Great list Sammy. I've yet to play Cyberpunk. Decided to wait for the next gen upgrade. Also, I'm about to start Final Fantasy 7 Remake so I'll just do a top 3 list. Dreams, Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us 2. And I'd go as far as to say TLoU2 is the best game I've ever played.

@Ristar24 Yeah the trailer is up on YouTube it's called Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX. I'm pretty sure you'll be impressed. it looks authentic but prettier with new levels, new modes, bosses and a retro mode which I believe is the original game. Comes out early next year on PS4 I believe. 😃

I totally get what people are saying about SEGA and I agree. I'd love to see more. But, we did just get the awesome Streets of Rage 4 this year and Panzer Dragoon remake a few months ago. The last few years we've had a few others like Wonder Boy, Sonic Mania, Shenmue 1, 2 and 3 on PS4. Then we are getting Alex Kidd in Miracle World remake early next year which I can't wait for. I read SEGA are doing something with Phantasy Star too but dont know much about that. So they are at least starting to use the incredible back catalogue to different degrees.

I'd love a free PS5 upgrade for Death Stranding and maybe an announcement of the next game. I don't need to see anything, just the name would be nice.

I really love this idea. I hope it sticks around and devs take full advantage. Going back to an old game can be daunting at times without restarting the whole game.

Also, I have 2 kids and 2 jobs. Having only 15 - 20 minutes to spare is valuable. Every minute counts, so getting straight into a short task straight away is ideal for me when time is limited. Not gonna be how I play all the time but nice to have the options.

Very happy to see Naughty Dog get the praise they deserve after all the criticism they've received. Also great to see both No Man's Sky and Death Stranding pick up an award too.

Backwards compatibility means I'll be playing this for many year. Currently standing at 117 hours played of Dreams. Again that's played as I can't create sh**

For a game that I paid £25 for I consider that great value for money. Also, it's a perfect place to start gaming for my 5 year old daughter. Lots of fun little mini games.

Ridiculous. Currently me and the misses share 2 PS4 consoles in 1 house as we like to play different games at the same time. Obviously we can both play the free monthly games along with the online features, no point paying for the same stuff twice. She currently usb transfers her saves between the 2 PS4's because that's only for the primary Plus account.. Fair enough, usb transfer works.

So on PS5 both me and her will have to buy separate PS Plus subscriptions for 1 household if we get a second PS5, just so both of us can move saves from one console to the other.... It's like we are being punished for buying second consoles for one house. Very disappointed.

Absolutely incredible support for this game. And I'm gonna have a decent library of games ready for when I get my PS5 which adds real value.

I'll take anything with Kojima involved. I love Death Stranding. And the Metal Gear Solid games are some of my favourites.

It'll be interesting to see how reviewers tackle cross gen games like this.

I'd guess at probably review the next gen game and test on the PS4 for graphics, loading times, framerate etc.

I skipped MK11 but I may have to get this Ultimate Edition.

Have to say, I'm liking all these free next gen upgrades. It feels like it adds real value. Meaning I'll have a library of next gen titles to play when I do upgrade to the PS5. I won't be able to buy much besides the console itself after putting down £450.

Nice to see some Aim controller support. Hopefully it gets put to use in some decent creations.

Can I ask, and this is not criticism. Does the review about the lack of content take into account the price? Few online modes but at £34.99 it's a very decent launch price.

Is it not better to have a couple of modes that are populated than loads that are empty.

Also, the fact the whole game can be played in VR is of huge value surely.

I'm still getting a PS5. It'll be my primary console no doubt about that, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not tempted to get the Series S as a secondary console purely for the games pass.

That said, I'm a PS fan so I'm hoping Sony snap up a historically big company like Konami or Capcom to add some leverage. Just incase MS start restricting PS5 access to Bethesda games.

For example Sony could say "keep your Bethesda games multi-platform or our new Capcom/Konami etc games will go exclusive too" I know it's not that straightforward but it's what I'd like to see happen. Also anything to stop MS snapping up more big companies.

I'm not buying the game again, it's only a couple of years old. The PS4 original should work just fine on PS5. Then Miles Morale will be more than enough to tide me over until the next full game.

Wonder why Knack 2 is more expensive in the UK. £8.99 is roughly $11.69 but it's priced at $5.99. So almost double the price on the UK store.

Great news. I bought this a few months back in a sale but never actually played it. I may have to hold off playing until this upgrade.

Ah well, not massively surprised or fussed, would have been nice but can't have everything. PS4 BC was all I desperately wanted.

This isn't true PS1, PS2 and PS3 BC, but as we all know, a LOT of the older classics have been re-released or remastered on the PS4, so should (hopefully) work just fine on the PS5 via BC with PS4. Some examples...

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, X and X2, Crash Bandicoot Trilogy, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, GoW3, Spyro Trilogy, Burnout Paradise, TLoU, Uncharted Collection, Abe's Oddysee, Parappa the Rapper, WipEout HD, Fury and 2048 as part of the Omega Collection. The Bioshock Collection, COD4 Modern Warfare and MW2, Batman Arkham Trilogy, AC Ezio Collection. The list goes on.

Granted it's not the complete library of content but that's not my point. Plenty of older games should work on next gen just because they've been released as PS4 games.

Why can't I have both. This is an expensive next gen console right? not a PS4 Pro 2.

I get it, better graphics, ray tracing, PC's cost X amount blah blah but come on. We were getting teased about 8K for PS5 6 months ago. Now we are having to decide between 60FPS or 4K on a Ratchet and Clank game (yes its beautiful but that's the least I'd expect) and even that's probably not real 4K anyway.

I'll still get both the console and game, but it's somewhat disappointing when I see stuff like this. I don't want to be hearing this sort of thing until 3+ years into a console gen. Not before it's even released.

😒 So you have to pay £50 for the game, then buy the battle pass for skins.... At least a free to play game is free.

I hate games trying to extract every last penny. Sell me the game fine, or make it a FTP game don't do both. I'm out.

Great review. I'll probably pick this up on the cheap. Sounds like another year or two of iterations will push this to the next level. Do we know if its getting a PS5 patch at all?

Tetris Effect is one for me.

It's my favourite game of all time. Head and shoulders above anything I've played. The graphic, the gameplay, the story. All amazing. I cried, I was angry, I was reminded of someone I lost who is close to my heart. I did a complete 180 on characters and was along for the whole ride. Incredible game.

12/20 for me. First half of the quiz I was terrible. I redeemed myself somewhat in the second half to make it respectable at least.

Wow, I've never really cared about the Hitman games. As mentioned, VR support really is a game changer though. Makes this game a day one purchase for me. I can't wait.

This is ridiculous. So the people who bought and supported the game with the day one purchase and even the season pass are punished. Makes no sense. Will keep this in mind and never buy a Remedy game in the first year going forward.

Wow, I was in the minority then. I'm amazed the percentage was so low but happy all the same that I got it.

I got credited with the £10 several hours before I actually got the notification so I was initially confused when I noticed I was a tenner in credit on the store.

I played a Beat Saber level in Dreams VR and it worked perfectly with the two Move controllers. The creator added the ability to remix it too so hopefully we get plenty of different songs soon.

I wish I'd played Ghost of Tsushima before The Last of Us 2. I'm enjoying it but it's not on the same level as TLoU2. Great to see both games have sold well.

Talking of PS Plus, I just received £10 of psn credit for 10 years of PS Plus. Nice little surprise. @get2sammyb it may be worth doing an article?

Great news. Congratulations to Sucker Punch and Sony. The quality of the first party content this gen has been incredible.

11/15 for me. I'm kicking myself about a couple I should have got. But pretty happy with my score.

I don't mean specifically on this site, but I think a lot of people think this is some short little demo. According to Geoff it's a full multi hour game that showcases the pad. In the same way Astrobot showcases VR but it's a game in itself. So it's a nice bonus to have it pre installed on the PS5 for free.

@gibbleking My point was not how long I've played as who cares, it was that I've played plenty but it's still a little overwhelming.
