God of War PS5 Patch 60fps 4K

Update: God of War's PS5 support patch is available to download now. Get it installed on your current-gen system and you'll be able to play 2018's excellent action game at 60 frames-per-second in 4K.

For the sake of clarity, this is still just the PS4 version of God of War. But much like what happened with Ghost of Tsushima, play the game on your PS5 via backwards compatibility and you'll be able to take advantage of enhanced visuals and performance.

Original Story: Hankering for another playthrough of 2018's superb God of War? Well now you've got the perfect excuse. Developer Sony Santa Monica has confirmed that it's been working on a full PS5 support patch, which will be deployed on the 2nd February.

The official announcement reads: "Coming to you tomorrow on February 2nd, we will be releasing a free patch that replaces the current video graphics mode option with a new default setting that will offer the best of both performance and resolution to our PlayStation 5 players!"

Once you have the update installed, playing God of War on PS5 will allow it to run at 60 frames-per-second with 4K checkerboard resolution (technically 2160p according to the studio). The bottom line is that it's going to look glorious.

We'll update this article when the patch hits, but until then, let us know of you'll be playing God of War again in the comments section below.
