Finished Shenmue 3 and the main story of God of War. Incredible game. Still got loads of side missions so I'm far from done with it.
Played loads of community levels for Dreams. I regularly play Apex online with the misses and mates. And lastly, I also got Tetris Effect the other day in the sale. Great game to chill out with after the kids are in bed. I think that's a nice bit of variety in my games diet.
Next up, back to Death Stranding. Then maybe Witcher 3 hopefully.
I'm personally well set for staying at home (mortgage holiday FTW) Besides family time, I'm using the free time to catch up on my ridiculous backlog. It's well over 100 games so I'm not gonna run out of stuff to play any time soon.
Just finished Shenmue 3 yesterday. Now playing God of War. Beautiful game so far. When I'm done with this I'm back to Death Stranding.
Also playing Dreams, which I love. I find it's a great game to dip in and play a few different short games when I have a spare 20 minutes. My play time for that last I checked is around 74 hours which is insane. I've played 1200+ community games in Dreams so far 😲 but barely touched the creation tools yet.
Then my online game of choice is Apex Legends. I'm not very good at it, but me and the misses love playing that when the kids are in bed. Annoyingly though shes better than me. I put it down to the fact that Apex is pretty much all she plays. Whereas I mix it up a bit more. That's my excuse anyways.
Right back to God of War while the girls are watching Disney +
@lessthanleo I'm worried about this. Currently got mine downloading but my Pro fan does have a tendency to overheat to the point that I can't even hear the dialogue with the TV volume on high. I cleaned it inside a few weeks ago but it's made no difference at all. I don't think it's got long left. This game could be the one to finish it.
I'm hoping Dreams is selling well digitally, and I hope due to the kind of game it is, that it has good legs. I'm definitely a little concerned for the game long term though. I rarely see more than 3K people online at a time (currently 1.856 people online). Fingers crossed my worries are misplaced because I love Dreams.
Although it's not confirmation, surely the same would apply with the PS4-PS5, it's great news. I've been saying this is the way it should be since we found out the consoles would be backwards compatible. It's not like we pay extra for Pro enhancements. Hope this is the case across the board.
For me it's down to price and also that the PS5 is coming this year.
It's too late now, but if priced aggressively over the last year or two the PS4 could have rivaled the PS2 sales numbers. My best guess now is it'll probably end up somewhere between 120m and 130m
I've put about 30 hours into the game so far and about 90% of that is dreamsurfing. It's a game I'll never sell (it's a digital copy so I can't sell it 😆 but I mean I wouldn't if I could) The content getting added is so good now.
I fully agree with calling it YouTube of games. Dreams is amazing and it's only gonna get better over time.
I just hope it sells well enough for Sony to continue funding the game long term.
This is a real time sink game. I get lost dreamsurfing in the same way I can get lost on YouTube on some random video. It's awesome. (An example is I somehow ended up playing classic Pong yesterday).
People really seem to have a good grip on the creation now. I just wish I had the time and talent to attempt some of that stuff.
Yep I have the early access. I enjoy loading it up periodically to see what new content people have come up with. Great fun. Looking forward to getting the full game soon.
Tried to register but when I put in my PSN ID I get an error "You must have publicly visible trophies to register" I don't have them hidden. Anyone else getting this or know how to fix?
Played this game once. Got trapped between an open door and wall, then the game auto saved... Ridiculous that you cant close doors in the game. Hopefully this is something they've sorted out in the update.
It'd be nice for the PS5 to play everything. But something that isn't really mentioned is that a large amount of PlayStation classics have been remastered on the PS4, so they'll work on the PS5 regardless of PS1, PS2 or PS3 compatibility.
I'm sure you all know them but think games like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro trilogy, GTA5, GOW3, The Uncharted games, The Last of Us, Shadow of the Colossus, WipEout Omega Collection, Borderlands Collection, Burnout Paradise, Bioshock Collection, Final Fantasy games, Journey, Resident Evil games. ETC... All of these are PS4 games but not really.
Obviously it's not every game but I thought it's worth mentioning that PS5 just having PS4 BC adds an amazing selection of older games.
This is awesome news to me. I am really enjoying this cluster of games getting spread out a bit more evenly throughout the year. A few weeks before TLOU2 is much better than being sandwiched between TLOU2, FF7 and Cyberpunk. I'm still enjoying my backlog of games anyways.
Strangely I'm always happy when I see a game I'm interested in getting delayed. It tells me they are serious about getting it right out of the gate.
I'm fine with this. It'll be ready when it's ready. I'm sick of games releasing unfinished and getting patched. Got FF7 coming in April anyways so it's cool.
Seen it'll be around £6 which is pretty decent. I'll definitely get it but probably gonna wait for the first discount. I'm still enjoying the main game.
@koaeinferno A PS4 game that sells 5+ million is generally considered a success. And games cost £50. PSVR sells for around £200 (half the headsets shelf life it was over £300).
Don't forget this is the first generation of VR just finding a market. Not a well established 7th or 8th console gen. 5 million is nothing to be sniffed at.
Bought and still own GTA5 but if I'm honest I've hardly played it. It's one of them games I regret getting away from me.
It's shameful but although I've bought every GTA game, (Even GTA London on the PS1) I don't think I've ever completed a single one. I used to always get side tracked messing around in the open world. And then some other beautiful looking single player game would come along and grab my attention. 😍
@Get2sammyb Great review, I've been patiently looking forward to it and from what I've played so far (10-12 hours) I'd say it's spot on with my opinion. Can I ask, how long did the game take to finish including all the in game jobs, tasks and mini games?
On a separate note my 4 year old Daughter loves Shenmue 3. She's mesmerized watching me play it and enjoys playing the mini games. Especially chopping wood for the shopkeepers 😀
I'm gutted. I already own the game but I wanted this for the console skin and pad. Only just got the Pro for £299 with Modern Warfare. Would have been all over this for £269. Knew this would happen.
I feel a decent gameplay demo for Death Stranding could help. Especially now the game is out. Those who were always going to get it already have it, and those on the fence could get a better idea of why the game is so good.
I surprisingly had no motion sickness playing WipEout in VR so I'm optimistic they can pull this off. Looks like loads of fun with a decent amount of content at a low price. I'm in.
@Porco But doing that you'll be playing a 5+ year old game that way. Rather than a cutting edge game which it'll be on release next year. Just wait for a decent sale on each one. You'll get the games cheaper and you won't have to wait until the game(s) are graphically outdated.
@Sunnyviji Yeah I do actually follow PSVR without parole on Twitter and YouTube but it's just not part of my routine to watch everything. I'll have to check the videos more often.

Re: This SnowRunner Trailer Is a Brilliant Riff on Death Stranding
Wow, that looks great. I love a well put together trailer. Game is definitely on my radar now.
Re: Rumour: PS5 Will Have Shorter Supply Than PS4 at Launch, Delay Unlikely with High Price
PS4 Pro RRP is still £349. I'm not shocked at the price to be honest. My expectation for the PS5 is still between £450 and £499.
Side note: The $599 price point of the launch PS3 taking inflation into account would be $769 today.
Re: Free Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey Downloads Available Now on PS4
Just a heads up. The Link for Journey is currently the wrong one. That's the Collector's version with Flow and Flower which is still £19.99.
Both amazing games. Both of them I already own.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Release Date Confirmed for June 2020
So hyped for this game. Seriously, it looks insanely good in every way.
I'm gonna skip any future trailers on this from now until release.. Already buying the game, so I don't need any more.
With this, Dreams, TLoU2, and FF7 Remake to name a few, the PS4 really is going out with a bang this year.
Re: Site News: Our Dreams PS4 Review Is Now a Playable Level in Dreams
Added this to my play later list in indreams.me to play tonight.
I'm really enjoying Arts Dreams but I keep getting distracted by all the amazing content people are making.. It's a nice problem to have.

Re: Dreams' Anticipated PSVR Support Is Nearly Finished
This all sounds good. I'm looking forward to MP and VR support.
I'm curious how they will add additional MM story content. If it'll be paid or just patched into the Dreamverse as free updates.

Re: Dreams on PS5 the 'Obvious Next Step', Says Media Molecule's Mark Healey
"Alex Evans claims Dreams on PS5 is already up and running"
Yes, I would imagine it'd be up and running on a PS5, it's backwards compatible. The game should work perfectly on a PS5.
Re: Hands On: Forget the Netflix of Games, Dreams Is the YouTube of Games

Re: Dreams - Media Molecule's Magnum Opus Is One of PS4's Absolute Best
Art's Dream is the story yes @wanderingbullet. From what I've played of the story it's amazing.
I've heard it's only a few hours long but so was Journey and that's a masterpiece.
Re: Dreams - Media Molecule's Magnum Opus Is One of PS4's Absolute Best

Re: Guide: Dreams PS4 FAQ - Everything You Need to Know
Got two questions that are not in the list above.
Do early access people get the pre-order bonuses or do they miss out? The early access is basically a pre-order for the full game.
And does the full game support multiplayer yet?
Re: Rockstar Games Co-Founder and Writer of Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption Set to Leave Company
Get him signed up quick naughty dog.
He's not gonna need the money but if he still wants to make amazing games with an incredible story, he could do worse. Maybe ND are looking to expand.
I mean, I can dream right 😆
Re: Dreams Early Access Players Will Gain Access to the Full Game Three Days Early

Re: Wii U Exclusive The Wonderful 101 Will Come to PS4
Why cant I stop looking at that pledge amount rising... 😲
Re: PlatinumGames Wants $500,000 for The Wonderful 101 on PS4
Currently at $408,000+ with 31 days to go and rising fast. I don't think we have to worry about that PS4 port 😁👍
Edit* My bad its showing as pounds here not dollars So it's happening then. And it's rising fast.
Re: Sony Trademarks PS5 in US, UK, and Multiple Other Countries
I thought they'd already trademarked all the way up to PlayStation 10 or something. I'm sure I read something about that.

Re: Wait, Apex Legends' Next Character Isn't Actually Forge at All
Nice move. Good to see some real thought going into this sort of thing. Well done Respawn.

Re: Former SIE Chairman Considers Insomniac Purchase One of His Best Achievements at PlayStation
A very smart acquisition by Sony. Insomniac Games turn out high quality games pretty fast. Looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us.

@get2sammyb No way, I think I've just found what looks like your message in Shenmue 3. "Don't you know that this place is way uncool?"
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5? Dev Says 'Nothing Has Changed' Following Lengthy Delay
@Deadhunter it will. But the PS5 will play PS4 games so you'd still be able to get it even if it didn't.

@GoodGame ah okay. I'm using the app so maybe it's just tripping up. Will have another try when I'm home. Cheers.
Re: PlayStation Store Is Selling Two PS4 Games for Less Than 20p Each
I've just tried to buy them but it doesn't accept the payment. Does the store have a minimum spend perhaps?

Re: Game of the Year: Sammy's Top 5 PS4 Games of 2019
Still gotta pick up Days Gone and Blood and Truth. I'll definitely be getting that shortly in the psn sale.
I wont do a top five but this year I've really enjoyed Alex Legends, Shenmue 3 and Death Stranding. All of which I'm still playing.

Re: Deal: Shenmue III Has Had Its Price Slashed on PS4 for Black Friday
A week after release this is a steal. It's a great game to chill me out after a stressful day.
If you enjoyed the original games and want more of that but prettier you'll love this.
