Re: Ghost Giant - A PSVR Masterpiece

Dange

@Agramonte I'm someone who suffers from motion sickness from time to time. I even felt a bit funny after playing the VR mode in Gran Turismo which from what I've read is mostly fine. But, surprisingly I've never experienced it playing WipEout VR. The misses was fine with it too. I don't know what magic the developers used but I'm glad because WipEout in VR is awesome. Also, unlike some other games the VR integration is the whole game, not just one or two modes. Even the menu is fully VR. Looks super cool too.

Re: Guerrilla Appears to Be Making a Multiplayer Game

Dange

Yikes over 400 employees. They could conceivably work on 3 games at once if they wanted to. For example two team building games with 150 staff and a smaller project with another 100 people working on that. Or as a DLC team.

That's presuming the staff have similar skills and can get 3 good balanced teams, but i'm sure they could make it work.

Re: How LittleBigPlanet Specifically Is Dealing with PSN Name Changes

Dange

LBP3 is loads of fun but it comes with issues so a heavy dose of patience is required.

It's a bit of a buggy game. Playing last night in a group we had freezing while loading a main story level, my sackboy kept disappearing and i couldn't quit out without rebooting the game. This happened several times, even when in the pod. I could still see what was happening but i couldn't see my sackboy. Also got kicked from the game several times and had to fully reboot the game to rejoin. All with a stable Internet connection.

All that said, the 3 of us playing last night had loads of laughs playing LBP3 It's so much fun to just mess about in. We had a trip down memory lane playing some of our terrible old levels we made on LBP1 from over 10 years ago. Can't believe they are still available to be honest.

Re: Major PS4 Exclusives on PSN Name Change Critical Issues List

Dange

Just played LBP3 last night. (great game, I had loads of fun playing in a group but man it's a bit of a buggy mess in need of a patch) also I still use both my Vita and PS3. My digital games library is worth more than a name change. I read in the Q&A that reverting back to the original PSN ID doesn't guarantee all problems will be resolved and some content could be lost for good.

Re: Soapbox: Sony's Done an Outstanding Job with PSVR

Dange

So annoying when people compare PSVR sales to PlayStation 4. I see it all the time. It's not the same thing man.

Obviously you have to have a PS4 just to get PSVR so its a huge investment. Not to mention camera, Moves controllers etc. Also, many people simply can't play VR for whatever reasons.

This is PSVR1 not PSVR4 it's still building a market. Even the original PlayStation was 5th generation. This is Gen 1 for VR.

Oh and the PS4 has been out for over 5 years. PSVR a little over 2 years. It's a ridiculous comparison.

Re: Soapbox: Sony's Done an Outstanding Job with PSVR

Dange

@Shepherd_Tallon

For what its worth my advice is start with a game that you don't move about in. Job Simulator, Star Trek Bridge Crew and Super Hot are good choices. Then maybe try something with a bit of movement but not too fast Astrobot for example. I'd stay away from racing games until you've built up a tolerance. And if you dont enjoy smooth movement in games like Farpoint you can change to more comfortable options in most games.

I'd also suggest only playing for an hour or two at a time to start with. If you do start feeling hot or dizzy, listen to what your body is telling you and have a break. Dont power through, you'll only feel worse for it.

And lastly, it might sound silly but tell yourself your gonna be fine with it. If you tell yourself your gonna feel sick after playing VR you probably will.

Hope some of that helps.

Re: Painterly PS4 Exclusive Concrete Genie Has Not One, But Two PSVR Modes

Dange

Wow this looks pretty cool. Sounds like they could easily have broke this off as its own VR game and sold it separately so it looks like great value for money.

I like this sort of thing. With upcoming Dreams and No Man's Sky etc it's perhaps more incentives for people who don't have a VR headset to pick one up and have a library of VR content ready to play.

Re: Soapbox: Sony's Server Shutdown Strategy Is Making the Publisher a Laughing Stock

Dange

@MinerWilly Agreed. I'm in the save situation. As a dad of two my free gameplay time is limited and i tend to stick to one game at a time. RDR2 took me a little over 3 months to finish. Amazing game. But it doesn't mean I'm done with DriveClub for example.

Gonna re-download and have a go this week actually. All this talk about DC has got me excited to play it again.

Re: Soapbox: Sony's Server Shutdown Strategy Is Making the Publisher a Laughing Stock

Dange

Love this article thanks @get2sammyb.

Genuinely annoyed at DriveClub getting cut off. Such an awesome game, may not have sold as well as GT Sport but I'm pretty sure it still sold a few million or so.

The thing is, it has longer lasting effects on people's trust in Sony. In the same way how people (myself included) were worried about if Sony would support VR after the way they treated the Vita.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for April 2019?

Dange

Not gonna play either game. Neither interest, me which is fine. Cant win them all.

To be honest though unless it changes in the next year I won't be re-subbing my PS Plus. For the most part i rarely play online and the free games are hardly ever of interest to me. If they are decent like the March game I'll probably already own them.

Re: PSVR's Install Base Soars Past 4.2 Million Units Worldwide

Dange

I don't understand people sometimes. VR is not for everyone, it's not cheap but people are surprised its only sold 4.2 million. Over 4m is amazing for a VR device.

Consoles didn't always sell 100 million plus you know. Heck the Original Xbox only sold 24m in it's entire lifetime and thats a sixth gen console. This is the first Gen of VR. It's still finding a market. Even the developers are still getting to grips with VR. People just need to get some perspective.

Re: PSVR's Install Base Soars Past 4.2 Million Units Worldwide

Dange

It a tad annoying when people compare the total sales of VR to the PS4, even Vita. VR is a completely new market. Gen 1. just getting started.

Also when people compare sales of VR headsets to game sales. As though VR is in the same price bracket as a game or as assessable etc.

Re: PSVR's Install Base Soars Past 4.2 Million Units Worldwide

Dange

Awesome should comfortably pass 5 million this year.

My jaw legit dropped when i saw NMS was getting VR support. And its full support too not just a specific mode.

2019 is looking like another great year for VR content. Besides NMS the games i'm most looking forward to are Blood and Truth, Iron Man VR, Dreams, Jupiter and Mars, Ghost Giant and Everybody's Golf VR.

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play Livestream?

Dange

I own a PSVR headset so I'm very happy Sony are showing further commitment to the headset.

Also, I like format. It's snappy and to the point but personally would've liked it to be just a little longer. I get that Sony are spreading these out over the year so i do understand they can only show so much.

Super excited for No Mans Sky VR. If i didn't already have PSVR this would sell me on it alone.

Looking forward to the next State of Play with hopefully more regular PS4 game announcements.

Re: Sony Reveals State of Play, a Series of Live Broadcasts Covering PS4 Announcements

Dange

Awesome. This should keep the people saying Sony are too quiet lately happy.

Im all for it. Several of these a year means they can do them in their own time. Rather than waiting until E3 for any big announcements. They can also react accordingly to changes in the market.

I also like that they specifically say it's PS4 and PSVR announcements at the first State of Play. I think they've been very clever with this.

Re: Google's Stadia Controller Has an Awful Lot In Common with the PS4's DualShock 4

Dange

Sticks are in the right place but not sure if i like the look of the sticks themselves. I love the rounded ones on the DS4. Won't judge until I've tried it though.

I'm commited to Sony as a platform though. They make the best games and have consistently knocked it out of the park with home consoles even the PS3 still sold 80+ million so i'm sure they will respond. Maybe two versions of the PS5? A streaming device and and a physical one.

Re: PlayStation Could Have Fresh Competition in Stadia, Google's New Game Streaming Platform

Dange

Im really worried about this. If streaming is the future of gaming what happens when my Internet drops? I still have issues with streaming Netflix never mind AAA quality online games. And i have no intention of paying for super fast broadband speeds every single month. I dont mind streaming games as AN option but not my ONLY option. Download needs to be available because the Internet can drop.

Re: There Are All Sorts of Rumours Flying Around About Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Dange

This article is not wrong but i do find it very confusing because of the name of the game.

We already have Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (as part of the ps plus collection this month of course) but this refers to a completely different game in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 which sounds almost exactly the same but refers to a completely different game.

Maybe it's just me but surely its gonna lead to confusion for the general public who will confuse a sequel with an old game.

Re: Does This Sony Patent Suggest It's Working on a Wireless PSVR?

Dange

Less wires in general would be a huge improvement. Far too many of them. I love PSVR but it is a faff to setup and looks messy. If wireless it needs a decent charge life though and no noticeable lag.

Other improvements id like to see for PSVR2 are a slimmer headset.

Better screen resolution and smaller headset.

Presumably it'll be PS5 compatible so that should sort the graphical upgrades.

New Move controllers with better tracking and analogue sticks.

Oh and backwards compatible with the current PSVR and support for the Aim Controller because that's awesome.

Finally an RRP of no more than £400. Not asking for much eh. 😃

Re: Shenmue III Finally Looks Like a Real Video Game

Dange

@get2sammyb agreed. Totally meets my expectations and more. Heck I'd take the original graphical quality over nothing at all.

I loved Shenmue on the Dreamcast and lost myself playing through both on the PS4 last year. Fully plan on replaying again near Shenmue 3 release date as a refresher. I just love being in that world.
