Re: E3 2019: Hear Ryo Hazuki Speak in New Shenmue III Trailer

Love it. Voice work is spot on. Very impressed considering the amount of time between this one and the last.

Gonna re-play 1 and 2 again in preparation. Playing Shenmue for me is like putting on some comfy slippers and going back in time to my childhood.

Shenmue VR next please.

Re: Hands On: Blood & Truth Elevates PSVR to the Next Level

Wow sounds like it's gonna be my next VR game. Was thinking it's a toss up between this and Everybody's Golf VR, but probably gonna get both to be honest.

So many VR games I've yet to play. I still really wanna get Tetris Effect And Beat Saber. Then soon No Man's Sky VR patch. Can't keep up. It's great.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Days Gone Is Number One for Third Week Running

Someone pointed out on another site that COD isn't even in the top 20, which in previous years was pretty much a permanent fixture in the top 5.

Maybe being a free game people are Playing Apex Legends Battle Royale instead of buying COD. Also the lack of single player seems to have had more of an effect than first thought.

Re: Guide: Best PS4 Graphics

@JoeBlogs fair enough, I get that.

I think saying "It may have been a dud" is very different to saying for example "I think It's a dud"

I pointed it out in the first place because as I said originally, Push Square posted a feature the day before about how a 7 out of 10 being referred to as bad is ridiculous.

Re: Guide: Best PS4 Graphics

Dange

@JoeBlogs Just to be clear, I personally love Pushsquare. It's my favourite and first stop for PlayStation news features and reviews and I simply point this out in a purely constructive way.

A 6 out of 10 and a dud are two completely different things. Regardless of who reviewed the game, the Push Square verdict is a six for the review. So it should be treated as such. I could be wrong but I think an element of consistency needs to be applied to each website.

Re: Official PS Plus May 2019 Videos Battered by Dislikes and Comments Section Outrage

I was fully expecting to get free VR games every month after Sony stopped the Vita and PS3 games. Maybe even an extra PS4 game. How foolish of me.

To be honest I've hardly played any of the free Plus games this gen. PS+ was at it's best during the PS3 era. I feel like I've constantly been waiting for it to improve and with the exception of a few decent months it's never really reached the heights it did last gen.

Back when Plus was still good and during a few good sales i stacked many years of the service. So I think mine runs out some time around 2021 or 2022. Oops.

Re: Guide: Best PS4 Graphics

@doctommaso No, it says "It may have been a dud" not it sold like a dud.

And i don't think you understood my point. Articles mentioning things like this promotes the idea that a 6 or a 7 is essentially a dud even if a review was positive in the first place.

Like I said originally i get that it's a throwaway comment but I thought I'd just point out the irony considering the article posted on this site just one day before stating how ridiculous it is that games getting 7 are considered bad by some.

Re: Guide: Best PS4 Graphics

Dange

Regarding this feature, it says The Order 1886 "It may have been a dud" was it though? This site gave it 6 out of 10. And I wouldn't consider 6 a dud.

This site literally posted a feature yesterday that a 7 out of 10 being referred to as bad is ridiculous.

I know it's just a throwaway comment but this is one of the reasons games getting 6 and 7's are panned so much.

Re: Soapbox: 7/10 Is a Bad Review Score? The World's Gone Mad

Dange

Somewhat agree with this article. However games journalists don't help with this. Not referring to this site but when popular sites and podcasts like Kinda Funny ( for example Games Daily 26/04/2019, 16mins and 5 seconds in) refer to Day's Gone as a "dud" It's promoting the perception that a 72 metacritic score is not only below average but that it's a "review dud". So that anything less than amazing is bad.

I will happily buy a 7/10 game day 1 under the right circumstances (the subject interests me, I'm looking for a new game and can afford it at the time, also if it's made by a developer I trust Naughty Dog etc). So many variables go into it.

I do plan on getting Days Gone but at this point I'll be picking it up when it's in a heavy sale.

Re: Sony Financials Suggest the PS5 Won't Release Before April 2020

Dange

I was thinking Easter 2020 would be a good time to get stock in order before the Christmas rush so thats a bit of a shame. I'll fine with waiting mind. Not in any rush.

Probably be October next year then. Although early September would be better for me personally. That's my Birthday month 😁

Re: PS4 Is Closing in on 100 Million Units Sold, and It's Inline with the All-Conquering PS2

Dange

@mightyquin I agree 100%

I'm so happy the PS5 will have backwards compatible. I've come to terms with the PS4 not having PS3 BC due to all the remasters of the best PS3 games but I'm definitely done with re-buy my games every new gen.

I think current consoles will stand the test of time much better than previous one's. Graphics are getting less important as the standard is already so high.

Re: PS4 Is Closing in on 100 Million Units Sold, and It's Inline with the All-Conquering PS2

Great to see Sony rebound so well after the PS3, which was still a brilliant console that a I feel is underappreciated. For me the PS4 had a bit of a slow start for content, but once it got going it's not stopped. It's an absolute beast.

I've definitely enjoyed this generation more than any since around the Dreamcast gen. And that is a huge surprise to me being in my mid 30's with 2 young kids. I thought my gaming days would be slowing down, not increasing.

Hopefully the PS5 can get somewhere close to these numbers or more.

Re: PS5's Price Will Be 'Appealing to Gamers', Says Cerny

Dange

Super impressed by what's been announced, seemingly out of nowhere. Very strange Sony didn't save all this for a conference or State of Play. Been hoping BC would be included so much but totally wasn't expecting an SSD due to the cost.

Considering the PS4 launched at £349, the announced specs of the PS5 (SSD in particular) and the features (backwards compatible) also, taking into account inflation in the last 5 years I'd be totally fine with paying £449 which is presuming it'd be $499 USD, thats my guess anyways. I would go up to £500 tops but no more.

Would be even happier if it was £400 of course but i think that's unlikely.
