Re: Silent Hill F, Fatal Frame 2 Remake Adding Free Crossover DLC on PS5

CWill97

I still need to play Silent Hill 2 but I heard it wasn’t optimized great for the Pro. Silent Hill F is on my list as well.

Although, I need to slog through RE 8 for RE9 to be reunited with the homie Leon. It just feels like RE8 was a downgrade from RE 2, RE 3, RE 4 and RE 7 (the only ones I’ve played so far) excluding the Lady Dimitrescu section. Tbh, the game should’ve been focused on her from what I’ve played

Re: Big Yakuza Kiwami 3 Demo Beats Down PS5 Tomorrow

CWill97

@johncalmc literally commented this without seeing your comment so my bad! 😂😭😂 I really hope it’s separate. Mainline Yakuza games can be a grind. I don’t mind platinuming Dark Ties because it’ll probably be like the original Gaiden’s length

When I’m not watching the NFL Play-Offs (GOOO PATS!!!!), I’ll be switching between replays of Lies of P (PS4 trophy list) & Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut (PS5). It’s honestly a great balance between the pair. I forgot how amazing Yakuza 0 was.

I wanted to replay Yakuza 0 through 2 before Yakuza 3 Kiwami releases but… I’ve been playing like a snail :’) there’s no way I finish through 0 through 2 before then 😭😭😭 Cabaret Club stole about 10+ hours of my time. It’s addicting, man

Lies of P is just excellent. Got through the cathedral and I’m nearing my favorite parts. I love any good that teaches you that lying is the right way to go 😈😈

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS5 Gets Bonus Switch 2, Xbox Features Next Week

@Oram77 literally my plan as well! Whenever that FF7 Remake Part 3 trailer hits with the name reveal at the end, I feel like a ton will be doing the same.

I only have Hard Mode and the VR fights left for FF7 Rebirth’s platinum. I have everyone’s levels (but not abilities because I need the hard mode manuscripts) maxed out, all materia found & leveled up, all the damn mini-games completed, and all other trophies. Those mini-games were a SLOG. Hate Jules with a passion.

Honestly, I am not looking forward to the Cait Sith or Red XIII solo VR battles. They’re not my favorite characters to fight with tbh.

I even bought an EU copy of FF7 Remake so I can get my third platinum of it. I still think it holds up but Rebirth’s combat is vastly smoother IMO. But I’m very easy to please… so my opinion is bleh 😂😎😂 I also never played the original which probably factors in at least a bit.

Honestly? Nothing. I’ve binged Stranger Things from S1 to the beginning of S5. It’s my first time watching it and… I’m addicted.

I actually rewatched all of S4 so I watched it twice because holy ***** it was great. Still amazing on an immediate rewatch. It’s very, very rare for me to rewatch any show after/during a binge. So props to Stranger Things for drawing that out of me.

This month, I’ve put like ten to twelve hours into Yakuza 0 and eight to ten into Death Stranding 2. Other than that? It’s been all Stranger Things. And… no regrets.

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 Open World Game of 2025

CWill97

I’m only on Chapter 2 of Death Stranding 2 yet I adore it. I’m trying to slowly tackle it so I don’t get burned out.

But Ghost of Yotei was such a blast to play. I even enjoyed riding my horsey around with the excuse of collecting resources just so I can check out the graphics of the environments. I couldn’t put it down

Re: Mini Review: Yakuza 0 Director's Cut (PS5) - A Questionable Cash Grab of a Classic

CWill97

I’m having a blast with it. Playing as Majima is always welcomed. His opening scene is still glorious to me.

These remasters are awesome for new fans and old fans wanting to play it again. But I care more about the actual future of the franchise. (these are all just me thinking out loud— all hypothetical)

Will any addition of Yakuza Kiwami 3, Dark Ties Gaiden or whatever it’s called, have any story or gameplay influence/effect on its future?

Will Yakuza 4 Kiwami whenever it’s revealed have a Gaiden and who will it focus on? Akiyama is preferred.

What is the direction of Yakuza 9? Can we move away from the retreading plot points in the “Great Dissolution”? 1 game was fine, 2 games pushed it, 3 games will be insanely overboard. Are we going back to Hawaii, revisiting an old place, going to a new Japanese city or a new city in a different country?

Is Judgment just dead? No continuation even with a different protagonist? Is Stranger Than Heaven going to fill in that void? Are we going to get a Majima Pirate sequel? Or a different Majima themed game? I loved Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and both Judgment games so I’d love a continuation or something in the future.

Love that these remasters will get more people into the franchise. But the actual direction of where it goes from here is key.

Re: Talking Point: The Game Awards 2025 Nominations Announced: Who Are Your Winners?

CWill97

E33 will realistically sweep most of these nominations. If Hades 2 was on PS, maybe I’d vote for it. But I have to wait for it.

There needs to be a category for best supporting performance & best remake/remaster. Performance award should be broken up into: Lead Performance & Supporting. There isn’t enough emphasis on the great voices behind these games. Seems like very simple and easy additions

Re: Don't Expect Any PS5 Exclusives from Square Enix in the Future

CWill97

I’ll always play Square games on my PS console. FF, DQ, KH, & Octopath Traveler are some of my favorite franchises. I just hope games don’t suffer if they have to sacrifice power for it to run on a Switch 2. I want Part 3 to be the epic finale FF7R deserves…

I say that fully believing that even after FF7R Part 3, my gut tells me they’ll make another FF7-universe game relatively soon. Whether that follows Cloud & gang or is something new is up to them. Business-wise, Square has invested so much into recreating the world of FF7 for them not to milk it IMO

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 605

I finished Ghost of Yotei up last night and got everything- all vanity items, all Ainu collectibles, all side quests, etc even though they weren’t necessary for the platinum. I literally spent an hour grabbing bamboo and flowers for future DLC as an excuse to play and roam the open world more. The flower fields and mountains are legit so damn gorgeous. My major gripe is that Oshima Coast felt very rushed like they just wanted to get the game out ASAP. It’s felt like that with the last region in Tsushima (but more so here).

I know people complain about remasters but… I’d be so down for a PS6 remaster of Ghost of Yotei. Atsu is a slow burn type of protagonist. I don’t think you’re supposed to love her at the start like you are with Jin Sakai.

By the end, I was fully invested and disappointed our time was up. I think potential DLC expansion is a lock focusing on flashbacks of Atsu’s time in the south and her current timeline return to the south (if they have her return). Sequel-wise? I think her story is should be over in that department.

I now begin my sp00ky season with RE3 Remake. I’ve never played it before so I’m pumped 😎😎😎

Re: Yakuza 3 Remake Backlash Blows Up Again as Actor Guilty of Sexual Harassment Stars in New Trailer

CWill97

As someone who knows almost nothing about making games, is it even possible for Sega/RGG to remove him without causing a massive delay? Said massive delay may cause them to lose an insane amount more money than by keeping him in it and losing the boycotters’ purchases. I just don’t think the logistics business-wise are there.

@Oram77 your stance isn’t wrong IMO. A lot of people who have joined this boycott don’t care about Yakuza. But that’s just how social media is. Is there probably a decent amount of Yakuza fans who boycott it? Yes, no doubt. But there’s also no doubt a lot of people jumping in just because it’s the new trend or whatever.

Do I condone Kagawa’s actions? Absolutely not. But Sega/RGG would’ve put a stop to his hiring way back if they cared. There’s no way they did not do a thorough background check even if it’s a rehire. People are allowed to boycott it, but yeah. I don’t think anything major will change. Maybe they won’t rehire him on future projects because of the boycotts but I doubt anything will be done to Yakuza Kiwami 3.

Re: PS5 Has Been 'Special' Thanks to SSD, DualSense Features Rather Than Visuals

CWill97

I’ve been preaching that this generation was a massive success for the short to non-existent load times alone. Heck, Ghost of Yotei immediately brings you into the game when loading it up. Imagine going back to the base PS4 and playing a huge game like The Witcher 3? It’s one of my all time favorites yet I couldn’t imagine wasting time away with those load screens. For soulslike as the article mentioned, it’s a game changer.

Visuals are important but damn is the speed so sweet. I like to actually play my games more than agonize on how I stupidly killed myself this time for a minute
