Honestly, I’ve been taking a little break on gaming since I beat ‘Resident Evil: Requiem’. No game has been speaking out to me as of late. I was debating NG+ of ‘Metaphor Re:Fantazio’ but with ‘Persona 4 Revival’ in February, I don’t want ‘Persona Burnout’.
When I next boot the bad boy up, I’m probably next continuing Death Stranding 2 or playing Hard Mode of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Really, Sony should’ve just said: our games will be digital only but 3rd party devs/publishers can still pump out discs. Sony can easily make money from the disc drives. Just such a scummy move completely eliminating that potential avenue for everyone. Sure, there would’ve been extreme backlash regardless. But this just sucks
The phased approach is absolutely dreadful. People every month check out the new games, download what they like, play ‘em and move on. No one wants to constantly waste time going into downloading PS+ games at different times a month
I trust RGG to deliver. I bet the music aspect will be a blast in the game.
But, the most important question is…
Will the song ‘Baka Mitai’ find its way in this game? Will Kiryu sing it from the womb? Will the major plot point be that Kiryu is actually 200 years old and has lived for the sole purpose of spreading karaoke (and ‘Baka Mitai’) around the world? That he only fights people for the love of karaoke?
The only games I’ve played on release were Yakuza 3 (very disappointed in it), Hades 2 (one of the best games I’ve played in years), and 007: First Light (an extremely fun game with a top tier performance by Patrick Gipson). I am excited to play Pragmata & Resident Evil Requiem eventually!
I applaud you guys for being willing to change. Some companies would stand their ground, state it’s tradition, or just not care. But many haven’t dug the “We” because it takes away some accountability from the reviewers. More importantly, it’s awkward to read it like a group wrote it (with the We) rather than an individual (with I)… especially since the reviews are “probably” mainly written by one person.
The ‘PushSquare’ squad is fantastic, devoted to stating their opinions even if the vast majority of outlets say differently, and actually communicates with their followers in the comments’ sections. A lot of reviewers ignore comments from random followers so props to you all. Keep up the great works my guys! 😎😎
I hate how the haptic feedback isn’t utilized more often in games. The DualSense is so friggen cool but the utilization has been underwhelming and lacking. So I’m thrilled to see them saying they will do so here!
Unfortunately, a lot of these September & October games will fail because consumers cannot afford multiple new game releases let alone dozens. There will be a lot of games failing due to oversaturation at one time no matter how great these games end up. Is GTA VI going to be a giant? Yes. But there has to be a line somewhere that competing against all these other games is just as bad
I have faith they’ll deliver here. Spyro was a huge part of my childhood. Besides from Pokémon & NCAA Football ‘07, Spyro: Year of the Dragon was my most played game
I dig it. Some of the stuff was obvious but a heavy-lean into occult could be a lot of fun. Persona 5 is the game that dragged me back into gaming so I’m here Day 1 no matter what.
That’s great news! Having in-game rewards for playing NG+ is great. New Game + is the easiest way to get players to stick in the game well after the fact. Like right now with 007: First Light, I would’ve went straight into NG+ but there’s no option.
A slick yellow and black designed limited edition DualSense controller would be wicked.
FF7: Revelation is my most anticipated game. Witcher 4, Persona 6 (if it ever gets announced. Hoping for today), Yakuza/Like A Dragon 9 (whenever that gets announced) and Ace Attorney 7 (if it even exists 😭😭😭) are close behind. I never have played the original (I plan to once FF7 Part 3 concludes) so it’s surprising this game has topped my list.
I hope we get a limited edition DualSense controller for this massive release despite it being multi-console. They could come up with an absolutely insane design. At bare minimum, I’m buying the steelbook and/or Collector’s Edition if/when it gets announced.
I’m jealous of people who are naturally good at games like Cuphead. The art is downright gorgeous. But the gameplay is absolutely brutal… but absolutely fair. I got through either the first part or second then dropped the game for a new release (can’t remember what. I didn’t start Cuphead years after it released). I’ve watched people online play it and they’re friggen impressively nuts at it. Tip of my cup to them. I’ll probably pick it back up eventually
007: First Light was a ton of fun with a solid story. Nothing crazy complex but it wasn’t a convulted mess which was key. I really hope Amazon just publishes the next game and let’s IOI handle the actual development. IOI is clearly passionate about James Bond. The franchise has so much damn potential with Uncharted buried by Naughty Dog. I cannot wait to see what new gadgets, weapons, vehicles and more IOI comes up with…. and I want more of the homies Wreckie and Q’s car to come back. Both were fun additions that can be built upon
….and we need some more Bond girls. Bring back Noemie playing Isola and some new ones that can keep up with James’s quick wit & banter.
I’m not sure if I’ll buy this on release. I doubt it’s a full-price buy for me. But I’m definitely interested! This was NOT a game I was expecting to be announced this week.
Just finished 007: First Light tonight. This franchise has immense potential. But just when First Light was coming into its own, it was over. Patrick Gibson did a superb job capturing James Bond’s essence and Lennie James was phenomenal as John Greenway. Sad to put this game down but I’ll be back for New Game + hopefully soon.
Debating finally playing ‘Hard Mode’ of FF7: Rebirth or holding off on it until closer to the release of FF7: Revelations. Or I might just start a replay of FF7 Remake.
As long as it releases on Sony consoles, it really doesn’t matter. And the XBox showcases are unlikely to convert Sony buyers to an XBox. So ultimately, I don’t think it matters at all here
I REALLY hope we get the remakes of the original ‘God of War’ trilogy before this game IF they’re reintroducing the Greek gods. I’m a newcomer to the series having only started with ‘God of War (2018)’ 3 weeks before ‘God of War Ragnarok’ released. I got obsessed with it so fast that I ordered the controller and ventured into Walmart to grab a copy of ‘God of War Ragnarok’. So I’ve yet to experience the Greek side of Kratos’s epic journey.
I’ve tried streaming the PS+ versions of the regular ‘God of War’ games but my internet was so bad that it the game refused to accept my button inputs & mashing (when the game asked for it). It resulted in me giving up. This is a “my internet sucks” problem not me dissing the streaming service.
So yeah, I’m stoked for this game but would REALLY, REALLY prefer the remakes first 😭😭😭
‘007: First Light’. I’m having a legit blast with it. I’m mainly a stealth player if given the option in games so I’m loving the stealth-focus.
It shows how games like this and ‘Uncharted’ are so damn fun. An excellently written witty, lovable and quippy main protagonist is a rare breed.
I just hope they don’t overextend the life of this game IF it takes away from a sequel’s development time. DLC is great and all but the focus should be on developing the series long-term.
A sequel still needs to polish the gunplay, driving and more gadget diversity. So I’d rather them spend their time making the second game the best it can be. But they have to do whatever makes the company profit
I just don’t think this was the right person to review this game if they don’t vibe with tough combat/soulslike genre. All I’m getting here was the game wasn’t a cakewalk so I turned on the cheats. That’s cool and all. But, it doesn’t really help people decide if it’s a game for them if the person reviewing it doesn’t care for this type of combat & exploration anyways.
The total review (not the conclusion) comes across more as “the reviewer didn’t like it so yeah” rather than “it’s not the reviewer’s cup of tea but despite that, it’s a quality game with these pros & cons”.
For the MC, my bet is there are hundreds of concept arts that Atlus goes through to determine which style/look/anything is the final one for MC. I doubt this is the actual final design for MC. Maybe they transfer it over to a different character. But I’m doubtful.
‘Pragmata’ has the potential to take off as a franchise and become a ‘Capcom Mainstay’ in a tier or three below ‘Resident Evil’ & ‘Monster Hunter’ (because let’s be realistic— no new Capcom franchise is reaching those heights without many sequels). I’d be floored if ‘Pragmata’ was a one and done.
I’ve been saving a third replay of both DLC for awhile now. Once we get a firm release date, I’m jumping back in. The more Geralt, the better. Although, I’m fully in support of Ciri in TW4
Saturday is a no gaming day with me. I’m going to Fenway Park for the ‘Survivor’ theme day to watch my beloved but mediocre Boston Red Sox team face another mediocre team in the Minnesota Twins. Should be a fun day even if we can’t score more than 2 runs most games 😭😭
The prior two weekends I’ve platinum’ed both ‘Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’ and ‘Stellar Blade’ (NG+ quick play through of Stellar Blade was fun. Less than 5 hours). Great to satisfyingly close the book on two fun adventures!
Now, I’ve begun a fresh second play through with no trophy transfer/autopop for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered on my PS5 Pro. I’ve already platinum’ed the PS4 Complete Edition.
But, if I’m getting a second platinum for a game, I want to play it in its entirety and collect the trophies naturally. I only collect trophies for FUN and to add in clear, additional challenges to a game I like… NOT to STOCKPILE pointless numbers on random trophies and cheap shovelware games. I don’t lock myself out of games if I’m unsure about getting the platinum. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been an utter blast and I doubt I platinum it.
I am debating getting through like 25% of HZD then putting it down until a Horizon 3 revealin a few years (hopefully sooner). It seems very, very doubtful & unlikely Guerilla Games’ Horizon 3 gets teased nor releasd any time soon because of the Multi-player game.
I have some other games I may start back up: Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 2 (haven’t decided if I’m platinum’ing it yet), Death Stranding 2 chapter 2, Final Fantasy XVI “hard mode” post-time skip, some Hades 2 runs with higher fear, or replay The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC for fun. My backlog is loaded 😂😂 Or maybe I’ll finally be tempted to splurge on Pragmata 😈😈
I don’t recall them ever announcing this much in advance before. Maybe they’re hoping some surprise studio calls and says they have something? Highly doubtful Sony hasn’t done its due diligence but maybe they’re leaving the door open for last minute surprises (reasonably last minute not a day before) additions. But I’m sure it’s probably all finalized. 60+ minutes is a lot of content already!
I desperately want a Pokémon-esque game to succeed on PlayStation but the cons like “tedious backtracking at times” are a major turn off. I may give it a shot eventually though
@4fold I’m playing both Clair Obscur & Hades 2 right now as well. I restarted Clair Obscur because I paused (I was mid-way through Act 2 I’m assuming) last May due to a family death to cancer. But it’s such a great game with an amazing OST and set of characters.
Hades 2… is my game of the year. It takes everything good from Hades and makes it so much better. Supergiant Games never miss
I know a lot of people hate remakes but I think FFX & Square Enix would benefit from it here if they’re truly not doing FFIX (yes, there’s been leaks but nothing confirmed) nor FFVIII. FFVII Remake trilogy has been fantastic. But for FFX, we don’t need three games but one to two at max to flesh out FFX and make it up to date with TURN BASE combat still intact and sweet graphical enhancements would be great. Plus, who wouldn’t want to play a more polished version of blitzball?
Ultimately though, I think they’re going to just do a sequel/continuation to the FFVII trilogy once Part 3 ends. They have the world already created; it’s easy money to just make a sequel or spin-offs there. The characters, world, magic system and combat system are way too beloved for them not to just keep going IMO.
Gotten through 3 regions in the “below” path so far. Absolutely loving this game. I’ve only done nine runs but the amount of content and versatility this has over Hades is insane. They literally hit all the right notes.
Going to do my first surface run tonight.
I truly hope Supergiant Games creates Hades 3. They could easily reuse all twelve regions (4 in Hades 1 and 8 in Hades 2) and make it random like the new mode in they added. Greek mythology is so damn rich.
Chaos would be the perfect final villain as well… or just make a game called ‘Chaos’. They could definitely introduce different mythologies (they hint at them with the hidden aspects) in a ‘Chaos’ themed game and add like Egyptian and/or Norse alongside Greek. Imagine one final boss being Greek mythology Chaos, another being Norse mythology Loki, and the third being Egyptian mythology Apep (I’m not well-versed in Egyptian mythology)? It could be incredible.
Hopefully this succeeds and makes MLB The Show have to implement major changes to its game on a yearly basis. But I doubt this eats at its target market too much outside of Japan.
Backyard Baseball though? That’s the real competitor here
Played 4 runs last night. Beat the first boss all four tries which tbh I was proud of. The first boss in Hades 2 is MUCH easier than the first in Hades. Got to the second boss on my third boss and had about 25% health left. Then, in my 4th run, got walloped in the 2nd area by….Tiny ***** Vermin. King ***** Vermin… Dude hits so damn hard in both games. He’s already traumatized me
Honestly, I haven’t played it so I’m not sure. But, I’m positive buyers of the game mostly appreciate them improving Crimson Desert’s quality. It seems like the studio is really looking at, absorbing and then utilizing fan/gamer feedback. I’m sure some of these fixes were already in the works though. I’m not a game developer so I don’t know how long it actually takes to even implement the small of changes.
Long winded but yes: it’s great to see a studio pride itself in a game and try to make it even better for gamers. Some developers don’t really go back to their games once it’s released nowadays.
Crimson Desert is on my wish list. It feels like a perfect “I’m staying in the air conditioned room and I refuse to leave it” type of summer game

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 629
Hades 2 for the next month. It’s so damn good
Re: Hades 2 (PS5) - Godlike Sequel Is Pure Power Fantasy
Re: MLB The Show Creators Are Eyeing a New PS5 Rival
Hopefully this succeeds and makes MLB The Show have to implement major changes to its game on a yearly basis. But I doubt this eats at its target market too much outside of Japan.
Backyard Baseball though? That’s the real competitor here
Re: Hades 2 Gets Game-Changing Free Update Following PS5 Launch, Available to Download Now
Played 4 runs last night. He’s already traumatized me
Re: Poll: Do Crimson Desert's PS5 Patches Put Other Devs to Shame, or Is the Game Simply Unfinished?
Re: Silent Hill Dev Bloober Team Is the Busiest Horror Studio in the Business Right Now
Still need to play SH2 on my PS5 Pro. Glad they’re doing so well!
