James Bond Is Officially Back as 007 First Light Crosses 4 Million Copies Sold 1

Publisher and developer IO Interactive has confirmed it's sold over 4 million copies of 007 First Light.

It's crossed this impressive milestone in just under three months, having reached 3 million back in June.

The news comes via social media posts celebrating the achievement:

"Thank you for joining us on this journey and being part [of] James Bond's return to gaming," reads the statement.

Indeed, I think we can safely say the title has been a big success, not just in terms of sales but also for breathing new life into a character that's not been around in games for a long time.

It isn't perfect, but there are so many things 007 First Light gets right; the story and characters are all very well done, while it combines sandbox level design with linear sequences in a smooth and satisfying way.

I think a sequel is all but assured at this point. There has been a little bit of uncertainty with regards to Amazon, which now owns the James Bond IP, but IO Interactive has clearly proven itself to be the right studio for the job.
