Re: State of Play Confirmed for 4th June, 40+ Minutes of PS5 Games

CWill97

Cool cool. I’m hoping some actually big studio showcases something new though instead of everything we already know is coming. Horizon 3 tease maybe for a 2026 release? Something God of War? Insomniac Marvel update with Spidey or Wolverine (or better yet, Ratchet & Clank)? Uncharted remakes, side game or anything Intergalatic from Naughty Dog? Saros gameplay? Ghost of Yotei gameplay? I’ll take anything newish please 😭😭😭

I’m worried companies just push everything back to late 2026+ because of GTA6 only for it to be delayed to late 2026 and beyond.

Re: The Witcher 4 Gameplay Revealed, Running on PS5 at 60fps with Ray Tracing

CWill97

Day 1 buy no matter what. Witcher 3 got me into the Witcher books so I’ll be forever grateful for that tbh. Plus, playing as Ciri is a dynamite decision if we didn’t have the choice to play as Geralt

Did the Cyberpunk 2077 release suck? Yes. But it was amazing later on so I feel like I still got my money’s worth anyways. I get people being hesitant on it but they did a ***** ton to repair that game. Only issue I have with them still is that they screwed people over who platinum’ed it before Update 2.0+. I would’ve loved to platinum it again so I’ll have to create a second account to play 2.0+ on the PS5 Pro

Re: New PS5 Games for June and July 2025

CWill97

I’m holding off on DS2 at launch solely because I want to experience what the online community sets up in terms of zip lines and other stuff in the game. I feel like playing at launch as a person who sucks at setting that stuff up isn’t a good combo. It’s not like I won’t have to set up zip lines but at least having some to pave the way makes it easier :’)))

Re: After Pre-Launch Sellout, Expedition 33 Offers Collector's Edition Content Standalone

CWill97

I just want the Steelbook. I wish they sold those separately because I’d bite on that so damn fast. I pre-ordered the regular edition Day 1 and would’ve paid extra for a steelbook. I might’ve missed it if they did do that but yeah.

I’ve actually only played 5ish hours of the game. But… I decided to hold it off because updates/patches will make this game even smoother and better. I stopped before heading into the area with the Gestral Village. If I had kept going, there was no stopping me. I very rarely have the patience to hold off on games that have me 100000% interested, but I felt that Clair Obscur was absolutely worth waiting for the most optimal experience. I cannot blame anyone for going full force into this game as its story, music, world-building, combat and characters all seem “high level” to me. The art theme is also incredible too which opens up the door for hundreds (over-exaggerating but whatever) of sequels/games with a different art medium in any world

So, I want to experience Clair Obscur: Expeditio 33 when it’s closer to being fully patched. I’d also love if they fixed the lip sync before I started back up. But that won’t ruin my experience tbh

Re: Expedition 33 Dev Working Around the Clock to Re-Stock Boxed PS5 Copies

CWill97

Preordered it on Day One and it still was delayed 5 days. Received it though so I’m stoked. I’m always going to go physical copies and usually hold out on digital only releases or find a way around it. For example, for LAD: Gaiden, I bought a physical copy on PlayAsia. Glad this game will restock soon so more people have the opportunity to buy it physically!

Re: Elden Ring Sells 30 Million Units, and It's Still Not Done Yet

CWill97

I’ve platinum’ed it once. I probably would’ve bought the DLC already if there were trophies. It would’ve been pretty simple just to put trophies in for defeating the new bosses. I get other Dark Souls games didn’t have them but Bloodborne did (give us a PS5 remaster/remake). I’ll get to both the DLC & PS4 platinum run for Elden Ring eventually.

But honestly? I’d rather double platinum Lies of P first. It may not be as great of a game but it’s got that Bloodborne vibe without being a 100% clone

Elden Ring is amazing though and deserves its flowers. No doubt about it! It’d be hard to just jump right back into the DLC after not playing it for years though

Re: Persona-Like JRPG Varlet Announced for Worldwide PS5 Release in August

CWill97

It’s really hard to mimic what Persona does. Its art style with gorgeous UI’s & menus, party members that make you feel like you’re part of the crew, flashy combat that’s both simple yet complex, unique takes on mythology with the stories and demons/shadows, and instantly classic music that you can hum for days is all very difficult to replicate. I wish this project luck but Persona is truly one of a kind for a reason.

Re: Expedition 33's Sublime Success Sparks Chatter About Final Fantasy's Future

CWill97

Honestly I’d be down for more action like the style in the Remake series. They nailed it with that combat. I think the bigger issue is the mainline series (excluding the MMO) doesn’t feel truly fantasy anymore. Sure, there’s magic to an extent and creatures to fight. But FF is known for having unique party members/characters of many species and extravagant areas that don’t look the same/aren’t generic. Until they go back to that in the direction, it’ll just be another action game that I’ll still buy tbh

Re: Ghost of Yotei Gets PS5 Release Date, Trailer, Pre-Order Details

CWill97

I’m going to purchase this for my mother’s birthday on October 1st. Once she says: “I don’t play video games, CWill97. Worst son ever”, I’ll take the gift (which will just a picture of the receipt without even the game cover on it. I refuse to waste my ink even with a black & white printer) back and keep it for myself. Then boom, October 2nd finally comes. In my typical revenge style, I’ll flaunt the physical game box to her and say: “Betcha wish you didn’t disown me now!!!” Of course that will be followed by a tactical retreat to the basement like every mature adult that lives at home does

Killing two birds with $70 worth of stones at once. Yes, I changed the saying quite a bit but yolo

(Disclaimer #1: I don’t live in the basement. I live in my room. Still at my parent’s house so I’m a badass. | #2: I love my mom but I have my priorities straight here. Gaming comes first | #3: My real name is actually CWill97 on my birth certificate | #4: Stop judging me. I’ll buy her a gift card, damn it!!!!)

Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (PS5) - Daring, Quirky RPG Is an Absolute Must-Play

CWill97

Push Square giving it a 9? Holy *****, game must be amazing. So pumped!!

I’ve had the pre-order set since they opened. I wanted to support the studio because they seem so passionate and looked like they could be the next up-and-coming devs with massive talent. If they delivered such a big yet gorgeous game with a small studio, they’ll keep on getting better as the years go on. Plus, the premise/concept of “The Paintress” and the number written was so damn cool in the first few trailers. So, I have faith in their storytelling, world-building and the actual skills to develop more than one hit game

Even though I bought the game and am keeping it, I’m thinking of waiting until a few patches come. I would like to wait until the lip sync issue gets remedied somewhat. Plus, it’ll be more polished with more time. My Amazon order got delayed to Tuesday which is a blessing in disguise 😂😂😂

I hope everyone has a blast playing it this weekend!!!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 576

CWill97

Ace Attorney Investigations 1. I told myself: “Take a break after the Apollo Justice trilogy. It’ll feel better if you wait on it.” …that wait lasted less than 2 weeks before I caved hard

I played some Lords of the Fallen (PS5). Combat is too easy after playing Sekiro, Bloodborne, Lies of P & Elden Ring. The umbral world with the lamp is pretty dang cool though. Platinum trophy seems like a slog in it with the terrible loot rates/system.

AC Valhalla I’ve been replaying region by region. It’s mindless fun. Story isn’t anything special but I love using my axes to brawl people in it. So I’ve slowly chipped away at another region. Got so overlevelrr so damn fast that I had to increase the difficulty

Debating continuing replays of Hades (second platinum) or Octopath Traveler 2 (same second platinum) on Sunday night

Really need a new game besides AA Investigations to sink my teeth into. More action or turn base focused.

Re: Game of the Month: Assassin's Creed Shadows (March 2025)

CWill97

If I wasn’t downstairs (and away from my OLED) due to surgery protocols, I would’ve bought AC Shadows Day 1. It looks gorgeous and tbh, I love the gameplay loop. It’s mindless fun. Not every game has to be super intense (and still great) like TLOU Part 2. Even if the story could be lacking (I’ll judge that for myself), I know I’ll get my money’s worth roaming around Japan anyways
