@MikeOrator the funny thing is it’s like “normally” 97% just the side content that’s goofy not the main story. The main stories tend to be pretty damn serious IMO. Going from deadly serious to goofy as all can be substories to back to an intense story brawl is what makes Yakuza games so damn fun so I’m 100% with you my man

Laser cannons add to the realism of Majima’s pirate adventure. Back in the day, you couldn’t set sail to find any treasure without a few laser beams heading your direction. It’s kinda underutilized nowadays, but RGG knows what’s up and that’s lasers

They’ll end up upgrading the whole trilogy to PS6 eventually anyways. Still day 1 for me no matter where it launches

I’ll be downloading Ragnarok & Gaiden for replays and Medievil 2.

Still haven’t played the Valhalla DLC, and Gaiden was such a blast. Highly recommend both Ragnarok & Gaiden. Although Gaiden is a terrible starting point, I feel as if the combat is as refined as ever. Played Medievil 1 a few months ago and really enjoyed it

Scarlet Nexus is a lot of fun. Story isn’t anything special but the combat system is fast enough to have a blast with over time. I believe that game was on PS+ Essential

Yeah that change is weird to me. A huge plot point is Strohl battling his own perception on nobility and what it stands for. So by taking out the whole army section, it makes that a little less clear to me. Plus Hulkenberg cutting down the bandits was the “Woah, Atlus isn’t messing around” moment for me right at the start. I thought the beginning while slow in-game could’ve translated well and fast enough in the manga.

Do I replay LAD Gaiden’s PS4 version next week or just be patient for Majima’s game? I bought the PS5 physical version on playasia and have been kinda regretting not grabbing the PS4 one instead. Gaiden is fantastic and a must play. Ragnarok is amazing as well! Awesome month 😎😎

I just hope that the wildfire relief efforts actually make it to the people in need. There are many suffering with home/belonging loss not to mention potential injuries/death(s) in the family. It’s horrific what’s happening so I hope the support gets to the right people

I’ll check it once in awhile but I’m not buying a game just to earn a few extra coins. I check it mainly for the “play this game and get 50 coins” which adds up after awhile

I didn’t bother because I really disliked True Colors. I just thought it was going to be more of the same and I didn’t like that same. It’s a shame because I really enjoyed LIS 1 and Before the Storm

Would’ve been cool if they made special Pro plates just for the employees. All the PS Studios should do that, a controller or both as a bonus tbh. But I assume that’d get pricey eventually. Any extra perks to retain/keep talent happy is cool to me though

@ATaco ND should be calling a studio like Toys For Bob that are now Independent and hiring them to make it. I know they’re working with Microsoft on a game but maybe afterwards. Or at least find a competent indie studio and partner with them. Whether in-house or out, a lot of these ND IPs are too good not to continue in some capacity- Jak & Daxter being up there on the list

Not a PlayStation IP (I don’t believe) but bring back Small Soldiers from the PS1 era. I always watched my older bro play (he controller hogged the jerk 😭😭) and I loved it tbh.

Hi- fi Rush is high on my waitlist. It looks like my type of game so I’m happy Tango can still go on with the IP. I couldn’t imagine how crappy it’d feel if I created an IP and was told I couldn’t make future games of it. Glad they’re able to continue to live on!

I’m kinda down for an unrelated IP to Yakuza. As long as Yakuza still gets the great output of games it has always had, RGG deserves the faith to venture into new projects. They’re a fantastic studio so I’m assuming this will be awesome and an easy Day 1 buy

I don’t mind because I like to double dip on platinums with games I love (not autopop- a full replay. Although, I tried to replay Hitman 3 on the PS4 version for another platinum but all the damn trophies auto popped because I was connected to the IOI account 😭😭😭 painful experience 😭😭). I’m one of the few who wasn’t angry when Persona 5 Royal got reannounced for the PS5 because I got to replay it with trophies again 😂😂

As long as it doesn’t hinder development on games for the PS6 in terms of graphical and performance enhancements, I’m fine with it. A lot of people also wait until the end of life cycles to upgrade their consoles as well. I’m not very knowledgeable on technology so I’ll leave that stuff to the people who actually know what they’re talking about 😂😂😂

Metaphor is amazing. I’m a sucker for anything Atlus/Vanillaware so this was a slam dunk for me. The cast of characters are all lovable in their own way. I’m hoping for a Strikers spin off because this franchise suits it perfectly. Well done, Atlus!

I’ve been waiting for a solo Majima game since I started playing Yakuza… 5 years ago. Yes, that’s not a very long wait but to me it felt like 100 years as the Push Square’s personal and very much their self-anointed strip club Majima profile pic guy.

@GreatAuk if you’re looking for an overweight man as your protagonist, look no further than Dave the Diver. Sure, he doesn’t meet all of the criteria, but he’s also a diver so that’s bonus points I think

Infinite Wealth is my Game of the Year not because it’s the prettiest game or best combat system. It’s my GOTY because the characters make you feel as you’re adventuring alongside them. Ichiban is goofiest and most lovable guy there. These characters are like family as you explore Honolulu and Japan. From the new additions of Tomi & Chitose to the return of Adachi, Saeko & Nanba to playing as Kiryu MAYBE one last time, this cast of diverse personalities makes learning about each fun. It’s the only game this year where I wasn’t burnt out and wanted to replay it immediately. I have a 1 year rule for replaying games, but Infinite Wealth shattered that rule.

Well deserved! It’s the best Yakuza game I’ve played. It’s also the only new game I started a replay of this year. Ichiban should be number 1 though!

This is where it’s at for me. But I haven’t played a lot of heavy hitters like SH2, Astrobot, DD2, etc.

The combat of this game is an absolute blast. A sequel will be incredible with more enemy types, bosses, moves, platforming aspects, weapons, etc. I can only see it improving on an already fantastic gameplay “loop”. Sony should do whatever it takes to make Stellar Blade 2 stay an exclusive because the sequel can only be better.

I’m shocked Rebirth isn’t much higher. I can’t imagine many games other than Astrobot and Black Myth: Wukong maybe having a solid case over Rebirth. But everyone has different tastes! Still hoping Infinite Wealth makes a surprise appearance

Does anyone here know if the game still looks “off” on the PS5 Pro? It had major shimmering and distracting texture issues when I bought it in late November. I really want to play it but don’t want to have the issues negatively affect my experience

I had a lot of trouble diving deep into Fallout 4 earlier this year. It was too “open world” with very little direction so I got overwhelmed. I guess I need my hand held a lot 😂😂😂 I like games still having a linear storyline for the most part in the beginning to get players to understand what the heck were doing 😂😂😂 Then it can branch off into a vast open world.

I’m not sure if Elder Scrolls are the same but in a different setting. Yet, I’d like to give this a go eventually if it comes to PS. Maybe it’s a me issue, Fallout 4 issue or both of us have issues 😂😭😂

I hope it releases on the PS5 just so I can get a second trophy list when it inevitably goes to the PS6. I want to double dip on my Witcher platinums with new playthroughs 😎😎
