Well deserved! It’s the best Yakuza game I’ve played. It’s also the only new game I started a replay of this year. Ichiban should be number 1 though!

This is where it’s at for me. But I haven’t played a lot of heavy hitters like SH2, Astrobot, DD2, etc.

The combat of this game is an absolute blast. A sequel will be incredible with more enemy types, bosses, moves, platforming aspects, weapons, etc. I can only see it improving on an already fantastic gameplay “loop”. Sony should do whatever it takes to make Stellar Blade 2 stay an exclusive because the sequel can only be better.

@LiamCroft awesome news! Yeah the first 20 minutes or so was rough so I put it down. I’m usually not picky but it was bothering my eyes

1A. Infinite Wealth
1B. FF7 Rebirth
3. Metaphor Re:Fantazio
4A. Persona 3 Reload
4B. Stellar Blade

This is one of the best gaming years for me in forever. So many surefire hits

I am happy Rebirth got a lot of love here! I still have to give DD2 a try. It’s on my next wave of games to purchase alongside Alan Wake 2, Dragon Age Veilguard & Astrobot. I wanted to give Warhammer a go but I’ll never have people to play it with that aren’t randoms 😭

This is tied with Infinite Wealth for my GotY. Metaphor, Stellar Blade & Persona 3 Reload round out my top 5.

I’m shocked Rebirth isn’t much higher. I can’t imagine many games other than Astrobot and Black Myth: Wukong maybe having a solid case over Rebirth. But everyone has different tastes! Still hoping Infinite Wealth makes a surprise appearance

Does anyone here know if the game still looks “off” on the PS5 Pro? It had major shimmering and distracting texture issues when I bought it in late November. I really want to play it but don’t want to have the issues negatively affect my experience

Merry Christmas to the Push Square staff and the community! While I may not be the most active member in the comment sections, I feel as if this is the best gaming circle of mostly laid back people out there. We’re all just a pleasant bunch. I’m thankful to have a fun gaming space to post stupid comments to 😂😂😂 Being an American on a mostly British site is also a different experience for me as well. Ahoy mateys!

Thank you Push Square and Happy Holidays!! 💙🎅🏻🎄🎄🎅🏻💙

Ngl I love the conversation format of this. You guys should do this more often alongside reviews. It has made me want to try this game out now. Great work!

I was going to play Rise of the Ronin but… I got another itch to replay Infinite Wealth. I doubt I have much free time but when I do, what uppp Ichiban

Thank you for picking my submission for Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth 😎😎 I hope more people get into it and give Yakuza a chance. Infinite Wealth was the best way for me to start this year off with a bang so it was only right to write about it at its end!

I hope my little blurb convinces at least one person to give it a go.

I had a lot of trouble diving deep into Fallout 4 earlier this year. It was too “open world” with very little direction so I got overwhelmed. I guess I need my hand held a lot 😂😂😂 I like games still having a linear storyline for the most part in the beginning to get players to understand what the heck were doing 😂😂😂 Then it can branch off into a vast open world.

I’m not sure if Elder Scrolls are the same but in a different setting. Yet, I’d like to give this a go eventually if it comes to PS. Maybe it’s a me issue, Fallout 4 issue or both of us have issues 😂😭😂

I hope it releases on the PS5 just so I can get a second trophy list when it inevitably goes to the PS6. I want to double dip on my Witcher platinums with new playthroughs 😎😎

Diablo IV is the game that reassured me that my Internet is a piece of garbage. Thank you, Diablo IV!!!

My plans are a mix of Unicorn Overlord (I’ve completed 3 regions), Rise of the Ronin (after playing Sekiro this year, I feel as if I have to completely remake how I play these games because it doesn’t work the same way 😂😭😂), NCAA Football ‘25 dynasty mode on easy mode (undefeated seasons winning 145-0 each game here I come 😂😂😂) and I’m trying to find a fourth game to cycle in. So I’m pretty happy with my gaming plans when I do have time

I started a PS4 replay before the Pro & HZD Remastered were announced. I paused that playthrough and will be playing HZD Remaster first early January after I start/beat Rise of the Ronin and finish Unicorn Overlord. Then I’ll probably play HFW. PS4 version still looks gorgeous on a PS5 tbh

Why not both?!! Cloud deserves it 😈😏😏😈

@anoyonmus yep, I’m pretty sure. Not the best look for AMC I’d imagine

@danzoEX Metaphor is worth every penny but I can get waiting on it for a lower price

My theater literally temporarily closed because of infestation and there’s none nearby for less than 45 minutes. I haven’t even seen Moana 2 yet 😭😭

Ben Starr was perfect casting as Clive. I have faith he’ll continue being a star in the VA world

…but it’s near impossible to hit Troy Baker’s level. That man is just a legend

Why does almost every video game developer use maverick as their code name?

I honestly couldn’t tell over me being so hyped. She’s going to be excellent anyways

Is Okami on the PS4/PS5 and does it actually hold up? I’m thinking about buying it soon if it is.

My top game was Witcher 4 but I’m stoked for Intergalatic, Project Century, and Dispatch. Witcher 4 was hands down the best announcement. Idc about the Internet discourse; Ciri taking the mantle is perfect. People will find a way to complain about the sky being blue

Literally no class. Keep that stuff in-house if that’s how you feel. This only invites lunatics to give Astrobot’s devs hell. Totally not what the gaming space should be. They won the popular vote and should’ve been happy with that

I voted Infinite Wealth first even tho it’s a virtual tie with Rebirth because I want to give it a tiny boost that Rebirth will obviously get more of. Top 10 for IW please 😭😭😭 Metaphor was a very close third tho

I thought this was a new game 😭😭

Going to be honest: it was one of the top highlights of many for me last night. Seems right up my alley

Witcher 4 made it amazing. I’ve waited a Ciri solo game for so long 😭😭😭 so damn happy

I have faith Naughty Dog will deliver but I hope it’s not edgy to be edgy. Not every game has to be super dark & heavy now from them. I’m sure it’s going to be fantastic. I’m hoping it stays linear too

I’ll never play in one but I don’t see the downside here. It gives games like Astrobot more of a shelf life which is awesome. As long as tourneys don’t become a staple in trophy lists, I say go for it a x have fun

The only Pro enhanced games I’ve played was TLOU Part 1 (it was top notch) and NCAA Football ‘25 (it was pretty great looking for a sports title). The only other titles I’ve played were Metaphor and AC Mirage. Oh I did try Silent Hill 2 but it was pretty bad with the shimmering and such. So I’m waiting on that title for a bit now

My top 5 should be in no order:

Sekiro | FF7 Rebirth | LAD: Infinite Wealth | Metaphor Re:Fantazio | Persona 3 Reload

With shout outs to Ace Attorney & Stellar Blade

Just beat Metaphor Re:Fantazio and what a game it was! I’m thinking of taking it easy and starting up my first Black Friday game: NCAA Football ‘25. I used to play NCAA Football on my PS2 every day 😂😂

@get2sammyb there’s nothing wrong with wanting to play more Infinite Weskth after the main story. Its side content is a blast. Enjoy your time with Ichiban & Kiryu but please use sunscreen if you’re in Hawaii 😎😎😎

I had 13/14 right but the site refreshed outta nowhere :’))) happens way too often

This will either be the funniest game ever or the most frustrating. I’m hoping for funny

I’m going to end up caving and buying this digitally eventually 😭😭😭 I want to purchase it from Larian physically but the damn shipping makes it unreasonable. I don’t need any extra goodies (can’t remember if it comes with any). I’m fine with just the base game physically 😭😭😭 On the plus side, whenever I do play it the game will be at its peak for quality/almost or fully complete with patches. I guess that’s a plus :’)))))

Haven’t bought it yet because I know I’ll get addicted. I’m a sucker for card games

It could be cool/good. But it depends on who they partner up with. It’d probably be pretty damn expensive to recreate Night City in live action IMO

I’ll probably give Temtem a try

Sent mine in last night. Hope it reached the right place 😎😎 I had a tie for my #1 so I just went with the lesser popular one of two popular games 😂😂 I figured enough people will be writing about FF7 Rebirth 😂😂😂

I never played the originals but I’ll be there for the remakes. A lot of people complain about remakes, but it lets players who missed out on the original games give it a go. Are some remakes/remasters absolutely unnecessary? Yes. But I’m down to play this

@riceNpea to Sony, it’s a “feature” they believe is a selling point/another appeal that, in all honesty, should just be readily available for everyone. So I agree with you 100%. I don’t know a soul who upgraded to PS+ Premium for demos 😂😂

Demos let people who are on the fence play it to figure out if it’s for them so it should only help sales. But maybe Sony is at the viewpoint that people who’d normally buy the game may change their mind in the opposite direction. I don’t agree with this if that’s their line of thinking. Most likely, they want to justify the price of PS+ Premium

If it was Cait Sith DLC versus an earlier release for Part 3, I’d take Part 3 all day. Now, if it was Vincent DLC, that’s a different story…

It’s pretty clear that Sony execs are just big Danganronpa fans and wanted to ensure it stays on PS for years to come

I’m just hoping they go straight into Metaphor 2 instead of milking it with 8 spin offs. A Strikers-esque spin off would be wicked though. Atlus is killing it with Persona/Metaphor/SMT/Vanillaware

How hard would it have been to make a DLC expansion category? If there aren’t enough good ones for one year, make it a biannual award. Boom, bam, done. Makes everyone happy

Shame Infinite Wealth wasn’t nominated for GOTY. They probably won’t win anything, but it’s in my Top 3 alongside Rebirth & Metaphor. I’m probably going with Rebirth as my GOTY though. Briana White is my pick for best performance. She portrayed Aerith brilliantly. My most anticipated game is between Persona 6, Yakuza 9 and Hades 2- where two of them haven’t even been formally announced 😂😂

At this point, they just need to have a DLC, Remaster/Remake, etc category. I’m sure Elden Ring DLC is amazing, but it shouldn’t be nominated for GOTY IMO

Metaphor Re:Fantazio. Absolutely amazing game. Most years it’d be my GOTY but Rebirth and Infinite Wealth are some of my favorite titles in the past 5 years. But, it could still catch up! Maybe haha
