I tried Bloodborne back in 2018 and absolutely hated it. It was my first venture into the Souls genre which wasn’t pleasant. During my few hours of playing, I was very sick as I went to the hospital every other day for (weirdly enough) blood transfusions for a blood disease. So patience wasn’t my forte at the time.

But in 2021, I struggled to find a game that hooked me for a couple months. I kept trying games for a second time or played smaller indie titles. On a whim, I restarted (wasn’t very far obviously on my original file anyways) Bloodborne. I did not stop playing it until I achieved that glorious platinum.

From Bloodborne, I’ve played tons of soulslike such as Demon’s Souls, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Lies of P (best non-From soulslike experience IMO), Wo Long and more. I haven’t tried Dark Souls yet but it’s high on my priority list.

To me, Bloodborne is one of my most influential games as a gamer just behind (in no order) Persona 5, FF7, The Witcher 3, Super Smash Bros, Spyro and Pokémon HeartGold. As an adult, it’s one of two titles that got me into a whole new genre of games (Zero Escape games are the other). So, Bloodborne’s influence is huge on my gamer identity and I’ll always appreciate it.

I’d love a sequel, remaster or remake so that many more new players can enjoy the creepy but bizarrely beautiful world of Yharnam. Remasters/Remakes aren’t necessarily for previous players; it’s to introduce the games/franchises to new players. I hope more people give frustratingly challenging games like Bloodborne a second or third chance. Once it clicks, it’s so satisfying when you defeat a grueling boss. Sony, give us more Bloodborne!!!

I am nearing the end of Ace Attorney 6 with the final case seemingly close to wrapping up. Why the heck isn’t there an Ace Attorney 7 through 197 made yet to play afterwards?!? These games are so addicting to play. I’ll do the special episode after then wait awhile to play Investigations. I’m going to miss Phoenix, Maya & Apollo so much though 😭😭😭

😭😭😭 I am just patiently waiting for that remaster news at any point now 😭😭😭 I completely missed out of GoW 1 & 2 on the PS2 becausd I tried the first as a middle schooler and rage quit so fast. And I never had a PS3 so I didn’t play that whole generation. So a remastered collection would be fantastic 😭😭😭

I want to badly and probably would’ve in normal situations. But I’m on surgery protocols and can’t stay in my room with my OLED because the sitting arrangement would break them. So I’m stuck downstairs just chillin’. Been replaying Valhalla to cope with this though. It’s probably for the best as the game will get a ton of patches and possibly some DLC whenever I get to it

I see Benjamin M. Starr and I click, watch then buy every game he mentions. It’s that simple

I want to buy AC Shadows but it’ll hit a heavy discount super fast and it could be buggy so waiting for patches may make my experience a ton better tbh

Glad I bought the Ace Attorney bundle then separately the prequel and Miles Edgeworth games. It’s an instant favorite franchise for me. I’m actually on AA6 and the 5th case. I bet it’ll be an epic finale for the Apollo Justice trilogy. Capcom- give us more Ace Attorney 😭😭

The only other games here I’d play are RE3 and DBZ Kakarot- both of which I own. Still haven’t played either but I got Kakarot on the used market and RE3 in a bundle with RE2 (so damn good!)

Congrats!! Final Fantasy is a Day 1 purchase no matter the game. I’ve platinum’ed FFI & FFII from the pixel remasters so far. It’s a ton of fun to see how this franchise evolved over the years especially since I joined the bandwagon very late

I really hope it doesn’t take ages for FF17 to get developed/launched. I don’t need a mainline game yearly but every three years would be great. At least I know FF7 Part 3 will come out eventually… and I’ve held out on playing FFIX because of the remake rumors far too long

I still gotta buy then play the first game and chip away at it. Both games look amazing and right up my alley. So glad that this game has been met with critical acclaim AND pretty massive/at least big financial success. A lot of the times, it’s just the former which sucks for great developers. Kinda happy I’m late to the party because I’ll get a more “definitive”/polished version when I do end up playing

I’m assuming Oblivion is pretty similar gameplay wise to Skyrim. I wanted to like Skyrim but I got too overwhelmed with the open world. Same with Fallout 4. These games are fun to watch (watched my ex beat Skyrim and a ton of PlayStation Access streams) but I’ve learnt I need some linearity. It’s a me problem and probably not an Elder Scrolls issue. I had the same issue with Hogwarts Legacy with the school overwhelming throwing everything at me all at once

That’s it, I’m buying them all. This may be my only chance

Honestly, if this game is anything like the first entry, it’s probably best to hold off on it until people set up a crazy amount of zip lines and other stuff. Haven’t watched any trailers tho so I’m assuming we’re still delivering da packages like in the first game

Sucks that I can’t play this on modern consoles because I skipped over PS3 when college/attempting to date (failed tho whadduppp)/sports/family/life got in the way. Would love a remaster or anything really so I can have my own opinion about it tbh

If I’m already going to buy it Day 1, do I even bother watching the ten minute trailer? Will it spoil a ton like Yakuza 8’s did about Kiryu? That trailer spoiler reveal was so brutal and kill any impact that reveal made in-game tbh. I have PTSD from it 😭😭

On the finale chapter of Pirate Yakuza so I’m going to do some ship battles before starting the last chapter. But damn, I have had an absolute blast with it. RGG had something here they could work into a stable side franchise like Judgment if they desired to. Majima always delivers. Always.

Wonder Woman could’ve been a really cool and fun game. But I didn’t have a lot of faith in it tbh. Sad for the people working hard on these games to be cut off. Feels like such a waste but businesses have to business I guess

Haven’t started yet but I will tonight. It’s my little treat to myself after a hip replacement (no, I’m not 80. I’m 79). Majima with his own game is going to be amazing no matter what

@get2sammyb yeah I was definitely agreeing with that take. It just seems like a no brainer to let previous owners/players upgrade it for $10 and get something for it. Instead, I think a lot will just wait for it to hit PS+ or avoid it altogether which is a shame. I really enjoyed Days Gone and would’ve been pumped to replay it on the Pro tbh

Ehh, I probably would’ve done the $10 upgrade if they allowed the PS+ copies. But I’m not buying a secondhand copy (despite preferring physical) just to upgrade it to play a second time. It would’ve been cool but I’ll wait until it eventually hits PS+ Extra

Ngl I didn’t play any new releases this month. All I played was Apollo Justice, Stanley Parable, replay of Tales of Arise (still working through) and some random NCAA Football dynasty games

This is wild to me. Although I think the plot could be perfect for a movie, this seems like a big risk. My bet is they just wanted to purchase the rights very early before it potentially booms into a bigger money investment. Still, I’m down for this even if the game hasn’t been released.

Pretty underwhelming for me. I’ll claim all three of them, but I doubt I ever touch one of them. Oh well

@MikeOrator the funny thing is it’s like “normally” 97% just the side content that’s goofy not the main story. The main stories tend to be pretty damn serious IMO. Going from deadly serious to goofy as all can be substories to back to an intense story brawl is what makes Yakuza games so damn fun so I’m 100% with you my man

Laser cannons add to the realism of Majima’s pirate adventure. Back in the day, you couldn’t set sail to find any treasure without a few laser beams heading your direction. It’s kinda underutilized nowadays, but RGG knows what’s up and that’s lasers

They’ll end up upgrading the whole trilogy to PS6 eventually anyways. Still day 1 for me no matter where it launches

I’ll be downloading Ragnarok & Gaiden for replays and Medievil 2.

Still haven’t played the Valhalla DLC, and Gaiden was such a blast. Highly recommend both Ragnarok & Gaiden. Although Gaiden is a terrible starting point, I feel as if the combat is as refined as ever. Played Medievil 1 a few months ago and really enjoyed it

Damn it, I thought Tales of Arise was a PS+ Essential title. Now I’m gonna have to pull out my disc when I replay it 😭😭😭 Yes, it’s a lazy man problem but… I’m lazy.

Scarlet Nexus is a lot of fun. Story isn’t anything special but the combat system is fast enough to have a blast with over time. I believe that game was on PS+ Essential

Yeah that change is weird to me. A huge plot point is Strohl battling his own perception on nobility and what it stands for. So by taking out the whole army section, it makes that a little less clear to me. Plus Hulkenberg cutting down the bandits was the “Woah, Atlus isn’t messing around” moment for me right at the start. I thought the beginning while slow in-game could’ve translated well and fast enough in the manga.
