Re: The Last of Us TV Trailer Revealed, Out Next Year

Bobobiwan

This looks insane. This looks so good. You can already tell there's so much talent, and hard work, in this. From everyone involved.
I just finished to replay Part 1, and this story, these characters... Everything is as strong as I remembered. Stronger, even, with these awesome improvements in models and motion capture, for the cut scenes.

I love this series so much. Can't wait to experience it again, but in a new way, with this TV show and this awesome cast. Call me a fanboy, cause that's what I am !

Re: Poll: Did You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?

Bobobiwan

I bought it, selling back a few games I didn't need anymore. My local store was offering very good deals especially for the occasion (they took my Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu for its original price, for exemple, like it was still sealed and everything).

I've played this game to death on PS3, but never took the time to touch the remaster. Which I had, by the way, but I've been lefting it in my backlog list forever.

So, yeah, I'm glad to replay this masterpiece, now. Hell, I've just received my PS5, it will be my very first game to play on it !

I'm excited !

Re: PS5 Price Increase Confirmed for UK, Europe, Japan, Canada, and More

Bobobiwan

I swear to you : I JUST managed to get mine, for the old price of 499 € ! (got lucky with F5 on the official Playstation website) It litterally was delivered this morning !

Even if I feel blessed on this one, I'm sad for all the people that will have to pay those extra fifty bucks.

I'm wondering : when the situation will finally be in a normal state (as in : you go to a shop, and there are several PS5 systems on shelfs, that you can regulary buy, just like a normal product)... will the price drop at this point ?

And when will this situation will finally occur ? I mean... It's been two years. It's awesome at this point.

Re: Game of the Year: #1 - The Last of Us: Part II

Bobobiwan

@zupertramp Off course I did.
But, in my understanding, the first one was more about survival. It was about kill or be killed, and protecting someone important.

Some could argue that the second game is about the same topic, but here the only reason that motivates this journey is revenge.

Ellie did chose to go on a rampage mission. She could have stayed at home, with her love. And later with her child.

But no, every time, she chose to leave in order to go kill someone.

And the ending kinda make it okay, in my regard. Cause finally, she understands that she can't live like that. But after how many kills ?

But anyway, that's just my understanding of the game, I really, really don't want to spoil people who enjoyed it. I don't pretend to possess the ultimate truth about everything.

I can be all wrong about it, and that's just fine.

And people who enjoyed it, that's also fine.

It's a damn well crafted game, full of qualities (motion capture ! acting ! graphics ! dialogue ! even gameplay !).

It's just the story that didn't click with me.

Re: Game of the Year: #1 - The Last of Us: Part II

Bobobiwan

@NoxAeturnus I have to say you just took the words of my mouth, friend.

I completed TLOU2 something like two weeks ago. I am a HUGE fan of the first one, who really got me with its characters and its story. The ending was pure genius.

But here, everything is so... dumb. People are dumb, in this game. They're dumb, and they're evil.

ND seems to have crafted its game so we can understand that murder is wrong. Guess what ? I already figured that out myself.

In this game, I never felt confortable when attacking ennemies.

There's one sequence... when we chase a woman throught a hospital... we have to press square if we want to beat the sh... out of her.

Well I didn't press anything. I didn't want to kill that woman. I wanted to talk to her. To see if something else was possible.

So I did nothing. And you know what happened ?

Nothing. The game was just stuck on Ellie's face. I HAD TO press square. So it wasn't my choice AT ALL. I understand the need to tell a story, even a dark one, but please ND don't pretend that it's my choice to beat this woman.

Cause it wasn't.

And everything is like this in this game.

Dogs, same story. "See ? You can throw them a ball, they're gentle and all, so you didn't have to kill them before. You feel bad, heh ?"

huh, yeah, I HAD to kill them before, cause you made me to, ND, thanks for that.

And all that story makes no sense.

I'm not talking about Joel and its fate, but Ellie's. So, some guys WHO KNOW WHAT JOEL DID find him again and they don't even think about making him tell where is HUMANITY'S LAST HOPE ?

I thought this all thing was Abby's father own project. So it was natural that his daughter tried to continue in his direction. Even if she wants revenge (she could have found Ellie and THEN get revenge).

But no. Even when she figures who Ellie really is. "I don't want to see you again". Say, what ?

So... Joel doomed humanity to SAVE one person. And it's still a intelligent debate (does ONE life value the entire humanity ? Do we have to answer that question as a mathematician or... as a father ?).
But in this game, Abby doomed humanity a second time, and this time just to KILL someone.

And Ellie... she never learns anything.

Not until the very end.

So, at the beach, she finally figure that murder is wrong, that she can not murder Abby.

But to figure this out, she just murdered about two hundred people.

This game really, really desapointed me. I see what ND tried here, and it was ballsy, yeah. But it was also poorly executed. Cause in the end, its story and characters just doesn't make any sense.

Just my two cents on this, anyway. I can be wrong. It's how I felt when playing this.

Re: PS5 Review - The Future of PlayStation

Bobobiwan

@get2sammyb Excellent review, Sammy !

I think it's maybe the first time that I read that we can't transfert PS5 games to an external HDD just for storage purpose... which is a shame, as I think it's a pretty important thing to know !

Now, for the question xD :

1) Did you manage to try some PSVR games ? And if so, how do they feel ?
2) One thing that is very important to me : is the PSVR still capable of playing 3D bluray discs ? That option was a great one on PS4, and I'm very eager to know if it's still avalaible on PS5. Can you try to play one (if you have a 3D movie bluray, off course )

Many thanks ! Keep up the good work !

Re: PS5's Destruction AllStars Free with PS Plus, Delayed to February 2021

Bobobiwan

Definitly a good call. No one was going to buy this game at launch. NO ONE. With Spidey and Dark Souls, it was gonna bomb big time. (for the same reason the UBI games, Assassin's and Watch Dogs are gonna sell more, in my opinion, on Xbox).

This is a PS+ game in its core, we all can see it. And on PS+, it's gonna be a success.

Very clever move.

Re: Marvel's Avengers PS5 Version Delayed to 2021

Bobobiwan

@naruball Thank you for that !

Everybody is saying that this game is trash, etc... but in fact, very few of those people have actually played the game.

If you want to experience a great solo adventure with the Avengers, this is quite a ride.

So i'm really looking for the next-gen versions. And off course I'm disapointed by this delay...

Re: Soapbox: The Week After PS5's Showcase, Sony Told Us Nothing About Its Next-Gen Console

Bobobiwan

Guys. This is a Playstation website. And the editor of this website, who devotes his entire life to this brand, expresses some feelings and frustration.

How much of a fanboy does it takes to not agree with him ? Or, at the very least, to recognize that he's entitled to feel this way ? That he has the right to ?

Speaking for myself and myself only, I could'nt agree more with this article. I've passed the entire previous gen on my Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro. So I ran with Sony. And I know the one thing they do right is games. They just do amazing games. That's a given.

However, I've decided to begin (that word is important) the next gen with a Series X. Microsoft has just convinced me, with its Gamepass subscription, the All Access formula and the horsepower of its machine.

At one point, eventually, I'll also take a PS5 (maybe when a Pro model will come out) to play these awesome games I'm gonna miss the first years (I did exactly the same with the opposite side, at previous gen, when buying an Xbox One X one year ago)

So I get Sammy's frustration and questionning. The fact is Sony's strategy, right now... just lost me. It did. Prices, silence, paying remasters, the lies about cross-gen (let's face it : they just lied about that)... everything.

In my opinion (and I can be wrong), to say that there is no problem at all with how Sony right now is handling its communication is just being blind.

Re: Soapbox: Screw Sony's PS5 Game Pricing, I'll Just Wait for Sales

Bobobiwan

Excellent paper, Sammy !

I'm exactly on your side, on this ! Yes, I find this increase outrageous, but no, we don't have to pay that amount of money.

I'm even not doing it right now. With time, I've learned to be patient. These days, I'm trying to complete my backlog (knowing that I'll never ve able to do that), waiting for the big games to go on sale.
So this is going to be the same for me, on next generation.

But we've got to admit that this price increase news suddenly gave even more attractivity to the competitor's gamepass system...

Point is : players has to be carefull. We are not forced to pay their games 80€. We juste have to be patient.

Re: Fans Expect Final Fantasy 16 to Be Announced for PS5 Next Week

Bobobiwan

If this FFXVI rumor is true, the game will be only timed exclusive, that's a given.

Therefore, the "timed-exclusivity" of FFVII Re really looks like a pure and simple exclusivity. Tha game has launched since an eternity, and still no news of others supports.

So this FFXVI story can be big for Sony, even if it's "timed"...

Re: PS5 Moneyhat Speculation Rumbles On

Bobobiwan

@Haruki_NLI "So as far as Xbox is concerned, unless this is an anti Game Pass measure, it's probably more a waste of money than anything."

Now that you say it... I didn't think it that way but... maybe this is EXACTLY what this is.

For example, look at Dragon Quest XI S. The game will be like... what ? 40 dollars on Playstation, I don't know ? And in the same time, ON THE GAMEPASS. Giving the sensation that "it's free" on the other side (which is not, cause you're not buying the game, and you're paying a subscription, but the feeling is there anyway).

So maybe that's it : a move to prevent third party games from going too fast on the Microsoft services.

Makes sense, in a way.

Re: PS5 Moneyhat Speculation Rumbles On

Bobobiwan

"Hey, I've got something that I cannot say... so DON'T ASK ! But if you KNEW what I KNOW..."
Gosh, looks like a five year old kid completly unable to keep a secret. You want to tell us ? So please, do. But if not, why are you talking ? Are you so desperate to get some attention ? Is it for just being able to say, when it will eventually comes to reality, something like "Ah ! Told you...". Sincerely ?

Anyway... What I'm not sure to even get in all this gibberish was : are we talking TIMED exclusive ? Or DEFINITIVE exclusive ?

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think of the Latest State of Play Livestream?

Bobobiwan

It was okay for what it was, but I'm not sure that what is was... was what we needed at this time.

Showing "The Pathless" and "Bugsmax" as PLAYSTATION FIVE titles, knowing that we're still eager to get what a proper PS5 title LOOK... I don't know what to think about it.

You show something as beautifull as Crash 4 and say "it's on PS4, the console you already own, right now" and then you show something as average (graphically speaking) as those two titles, and say "it's on PS5, and that's why you want to buy this new console". It just doesn't work.

Godfall was the real deal, thought. But I didn't find the appeal, unfortunately.

Re: Sony Slogan Change Gives Weight to Massive PS5 Leak

Bobobiwan

Everything in this seems clearly possible.
The only question for me is if they will reveal, or at least tease, the PSVR 2 at the same time. But I'm doubting they will. I'm guessing they will focuss on the main platform, first.

But maybe, just a tease, Sony ? That would be so cool !

Re: Rumour: The Order: 1886 Will Make a Triumphant Comeback with PS5 Sequel

Bobobiwan

I absolutely LOVED this game. Ok, sorry, my bad, this "experience". Frankly, I don't really care about the "it's not a real game" debate.

The story, the visuals, the set-up, the art direction, the acting.... everything, and I mean EVERYTHING delighted me in this.

I'm so on board for a sequel.

PS : oh, and I also love Gears of War on the other side, so please don't come at my throat xD

Re: Deal: You Can Get PlayStation Classic Mini Console for Just £30 in UK

Bobobiwan

My good old PS VITA is my real "Playstation Classic Mini", thanks.

The PSone games never looked better than on its screen. Plus, being able to play Final Fantasy VII, VIII or IX on the go is an undeniable advantage of being alive in 2019. Oh, and Chrono Cross. And Final Fantasy Tactics. And Metal Gear Solid. And Resident Evil 1, 2, 3. And Silent Hill. And the Crash Bandicoot games. And Oddworld. And...

Ok, you see the point. All of this in my pocket. I would never have imagined something like that fifteen years ago.

Re: Sonic Movie Director Pledges to Improve Character's Design Following Fan Reaction

Bobobiwan

@IanDavid At last, I'm not alone !!
I totally dig the performance of Jim Carrey here. Thought I would never see him again in this type of comedy ! He's so good in it. Plus, is it me, or does he looks younger than what we saw of him this past years ? Could he be really back, top of his shape and all ?

Oh, and btw, for those who says "he doesn't look like Robotnik", please look the final frame of the trailer.

Just fix Sonic and it can be a fun comedy to see with friends and / or family....

Re: Devs Give Update Following ANTHEM Patch, Key Features Are Delayed

Bobobiwan

I've sold my copy and bought The Division 2. Yes I wrote that elsewhere but I wanted to write it again.
Cause I believed in Anthem. I defended it. And then, one day... I realised that I wasn't paid by EA to do their com'. That my empathy for the developpers had completly obstructed my judgement as a player, clouded the fact that I was in right to expect some quality gaming. Cause, you know, I PAID for this game.
The Division 2 gives you immediatly the exact opposite feeling. There's just too much stuff here for your money / time.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 268

Bobobiwan

The Star Wars IX trailer gave me goosebumps, so now that I'm hyped again, I managed to find time for launching Star Wars Battlefront 2.
And even if I well know all the problems it had at launch (basically EA's suits fault), I have to admit it is NOW a very good game.
The tremendous bad buzz made EA change everything in the progression system - for exemple all the characters are now unlocked right from the start, when you had originally to play hours and hours just to unlock, say, Vador.
What's done is done, and EA did not managed to get the players back in their game. Or not everyone, at least. But for the people who are late in the party, like me, it has now become an excellent title for any Star Wars fan. The campaign itself is very good - intersting story, cool flight sequences...

I like it

Re: PlayStation Store Sales Charts: The Division 2 Shoots to the Top

Bobobiwan

I defended and played Anthem for a moment. Then I realized that despite its graphics and basic gameplay (which are awesome) they were too many things going wrong in that soft to keep me playing it.
So I sold my copy and bought instead The Division 2, despite the fact that the lore was not as much attractive, to me, as Anthem's.

But those games are day and night. I don't exactly know what a "shooter / looter" is, but if The Division 2 is one of them, then Anthem is not.

In Anthem, despite all the loot problems, you have to go back everytime to your hub, talk, select mission, then go venturing yoursel to your next objective. The feeling of freedom seems to have gone, somewhere...

But in The Division 2, you're on a big map, completly free of your progression, and you can go explore and find sonmany things, so many secrets, activities... You just can't be bored with this game !!

Re: The Division 2 Update 1.05 Patch Notes Reveal Changes to Weapons, Skills, Loot, and Enemy Damage

Bobobiwan

I' ve sold my copy of ANTHEM to get The Division 2. I was under the impression that it would'nt be able to get me as ANTHEM did, cause I really like sci-fi and all.
But I've got to admit it : this game is a gem. And yeah, it IS so much more enjoyable than the Bioware soft. You've got a billion things to do right from the start. You're hooked immediately.
Those two game definitely don't play in the same category.

Re: Shocker: Royal Family Out of Touch as Prince Harry Says Fortnite Should Be Banned

Bobobiwan

I do agree with the Prince. I know a bunch of kids who don't play videogames. They play FORTNITE. They know nothing about videogames. They know FORTNITE.
They've never heard of, let's say, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Fumito Ueda, Jenova Chen, Mario Odissey or The Legend of Zelda. Even HALO. THEY JUST KNOW AND ONLY PLAY FORTNITE.

This is it. Like the Wii in its age, which was only used for Wii Sports by a real large number of people, FORTNITE has replaced, for many, many users, the very concept of videogames.

So I do agree with Prince Harry. Kinda.

Re: Soapbox: Sony's Server Shutdown Strategy Is Making the Publisher a Laughing Stock

Bobobiwan

I actually am a Driveclub player, even if I also own GT Sport (and Forza 7 for the record). Still, Driveclub remain an excellent arcade racer. It really evolved into something really special (bikes ! VR ! What ?!) and it is still visually astonishing.

I'm becoming really, really tired of this attitude from a brand that I truly love. Zero communication in months (I know they're working on PS5 but come on, no reason to remain THAT silent), and a succession of decisions that I cannot agree with.
Of I recall, for me, it all started with Gravity Rush 2. I own the game SINCE DAY ONE, but like many others games, it's in my backlog, waiting for me to find the time to give it a go. And Sony decided to cut come content (yes, content : it seems that the online fonctionality gave access to costumes. And now ?)
The only thing that makes me stay with Sony, honestly, is my PSVR.
I hope they won't stop supporting it soon.
