Re: Sony's E3 2017 Presser Will Be Another Quickfire Affair

Bobobiwan

The beginning of the conference... My gosh. This orchestra, this long piece of epic music, no f.... explanation at all, everyone getting chills... Then this trailer with the boy... i remember, I was like "wait, what... Horizon or what..??" "FEED US. I AM HUNGRY" (crowd is getting nutz, so everyone in front if his computer. The game begins. New angle, new gameplay, god of last of us, everyone "oooooooh..." this kind of surprise are so good.
I kept the entire video of the press conference and I'm still watching parts from time to time, with or without the reactions of the ex-employees of gametrailers...
Oh and the resident eVIL name reveal was so good too. Absolutely epic.

Re: Sony Believes PlayStation Vita Is Still a Viable System

Bobobiwan

The PSVITA became something very strange, which I really like. It has become some kinf of heaven for :
1) Retro gaming. Dude, all this PS1 classics, ready to take the plane with you ! I got all the Final Fantasy on it from I to X-2, just in my pocket !
2) Indy gaming. All these little masterpieces are a thrill.
3) Otaku gaming. If you're into japanese niche game (and I am !), this is a beautifull place to be.
Plus It got Uncharted Golden Abyss, still an incredible looking game to me.

Re: Sony's Jim Ryan Just Said a Stupid Thing About Backwards Compatibility

Bobobiwan

When you have a brand like PLAYSTATION, you NEED to cultivate your own history. So YEAH, you NEED a form of retro-compatibility, even if it's not hardware - I don't say that just to not pay again the games I own on disc, this is not the issue here.
The issue is LEGACY. Come on, why videogames should be different than cinema, of litterature, where you can always find this old masterpiece that was done before you were born and still enjoy it ?
See ? This is why PC emulation cannot be pointed finger at. The history of videogames should not be forgotten, and young gamers should have easy access to these fondations.
On PSVITA, I play a lot (a loooooooot) of PS1 games. Some are Proust madeleines to me, but some are totally new in my eyes. And still good by today's standarts (which are, for me : story, gameplay, art).
I mean... Still no PS1 games on PS4 ? WHAT ? And don't come telling me it's a difficult thing to emulate.
I like what Xbox is doing right now for its brand.

Re: Why Is the New God of War So Different to Its Predecessors?

Bobobiwan

And singstar ? Really ? I mean... For real ? In 2017, are there still people who use their playstation system to sing with buddies ?
Ok, no lie : when Singstar came on PS2, yes we did some great parties with it, totally assuming the dumb fun of this kind of thing (you need beers also, a lot) (but drink with moderation, childs).
But on PS4, who is still singing ?

Re: Summer Lesson Spin-Off Aims to Prove Blondes Have More Fun

Bobobiwan

The game does exist in english : it came out a few weeks ago in ASIA version (with english subs - do not mistake with the one with chinese subs) and as a VR enthousiast, I had preordered the retail version long ago to be sure to get one (out of stock everywhere now, but you could download the digital version out of HK PSstore).
I have played very little - cause I got Farpoint in the same time and that game is so good - but for the few moments I spent with the girl I can say :
1) it is impressive, visually. The "presence" feeling is unbelivable.
2) the game has no real goal. It is very, very japanese in spirit. You just make on or two choices here and there, and then watch the girl like a creepy stalker. I mean like her private teacher.
3) the all thing feels very weird... Like... Your avatar is represented by a blue... Ghosty thing... You look at your feet and you see that there are no shoes. On your feet. In fact, it suggests that you are... I don't know, naked ?
4) the girl fed me. With a piece of cake. And I did the same for her. I guess that this is an excellent cake, cause she really seemed to take an immense pleasure by swalowing it. Wait... How old is she supposed to be, by the way ? O_o
5) So, clearly, this game will never comes out in the West. Anyway, back to Farpoint, now ! XD

Re: Velocity 2X's FuturLab Tackles PlayStation VR with Tiny Trax

Bobobiwan

This trailer is making the job : it represents what we are going to experience (ergo sitting in the middle of a little race track, like a kid in his room !). Concept looks great, althought I'm a little concerned about gameplay, cause... Like in the real world toy, the cars are sticking to a line and are not really driven (means you can accelerate but you can't "go left" or else).

BUT I'm gonna trust the dev team on this one. Velocity is still one my favorite VITA games.

Re: Sony Says Goodbye to the PS3 After 10 Years on the Market

Bobobiwan

Still playing mine very regulary... Between every PS4 game I lauch, in fact. Every time I finish a game from the current gen, I'm looking at my shelf and pick something from the previous one. For exemple, I discovered Arkham City, for the first time, a few months ago, on my PS3. I'm currently redoing the originals Uncharted (not the collection, the real originals) before aptemting A Thief's End on Ps4.
Still so much to do on my good old Ps3. I hope you never die, pal. Stay with me !

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 170

Bobobiwan

I play a little MURAMASA on my VITA, when I only got a few minutes to spare... But as soon as I can play an entire hour (or more) (I can dream, hey ?), I plug my beloved PSVR and get lost in the reality of FARPOINT. I have no words to describe this incredible experience, it is so huge, so revolutionnary. It really feels like the beginning of an extraordinary franchise, like Killzone or Uncharted (really good -but perfectible- games which became legendary with their second installment). Everything is elegant, brillant. I can sense some Halo or Metroid here and there... But with this gameplay, man... This is the future of videogames, surely. I just cannot play a regular FPS now, it would feel like playing the first Resident Evil, you know, the one with the humans moving like robots ?
Anyway. FARPOINT. What a surprise. If Sony juste teases a sequel at E3, I'll become nuts.
Oh, and I played Summer Lesson, too. Still trying to figure the goal of the game, but I did feed the girl with a piece of cake. And she did it to me. Interesting.

Re: Review: Farpoint (PS4)

Bobobiwan

My wallet is not thanking you, guys... Just ordered the pack game + gun... How could I resist ? In a few days I'll be blowing some VR spiders and stuff.

Re: May Sale Plunges PS4 Prices on EU PlayStation Store

Bobobiwan

@FullbringIchigo and it's clearly one of the best !! Don't believe the bullsh*** you can read here and there, like "blabla konami evil so it's not a finished game where is this final level we saw on youtube ?"
Kojima clearly had the final cut on this one, and you have to stick to it for the real ending... What a way to conclude his saga.
Kojima san, thank you for everything !

Re: The Order: 1886 Can Be Yours for Thruppence on PS4

Bobobiwan

I LOVED The Order, seriously. Yes, maybe it's more a "cinematic experience" than an actual GAME, but I don't care. I like movies too. I like TV Shows. And that what it felt like : I was watching the first season of a damn good show. Setting was great, characters too, the storytelling was great - classical, but still -
No really, I love this game. I would sign anytime for a sequel.

Re: Review: StarBlood Arena (PS4)

Bobobiwan

I say it again : if you're looking for a thrill in multiplayer VR experience, go the EVE VALKYRIE way. The game improved again with another free update, the gameplay is awesome, the graphics are impressive, and there's a REAL community, cause it's cross platform (with VIVE and OCULUS). That game is, in my opinion, the overlooked jewel of the PSVR.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Time for Sony to Take PS4 Pro Seriously?

Bobobiwan

I'perfectly fin with Microsoft launching his project Scorpio. Competition is always good for the market and if anything, I really hope that Spny will finally take his own console seriously and show shome KICK ASS games on E3, running with everything the Pro can give.
I personnaly just switched recently. In fact, I returned my good old PS4 for a Pro The very same day that Microsoft gave the specs of his Scorpio project.

I personnaly own a regular tv (big screen, but just HD) so I wasn't in a hurry to upgrade. What finally decided me was the PSVR. I really, really LOVE this headset and I wanted the best configuration possible to enjoy Eve Valkyrie, Residen Evil, etc...

Which brings me back to my point : I had to struggle to find on the internet, thanks to youtube and to regulars USERS, what can bring concretly the PS4 Pro to the PSVR games. There is no official information other than "it's better". I mean, it's a serious question. So, thanks to the FANS (and not Sony) I learned that Rez Infinite is supersampled before by the console before going to the headset (for the Area X, it seems), that Playroom VR gains an actualnbetter resolution (which is huge for a VR game) and that Rush of blood gains...erf... News shadows. So this information is IMPORTANT, and Sony did not sell me correctly his machine. The playstation fans of the internet did.
Sony, please. Embrace the PRO. Thanks.

Re: Hands On: StarBlood Arena Brings Loot Boxes to PlayStation VR

Bobobiwan

I'm staying on Eve Valkyrie. This is THE ultimate shooter-online-only of the PSVR. A unique experience, impossible to create on a screen (you have to lock missiles on your adversaries by turning your head, and you fire by regulary aim with the controler - so you have to practice and then you can truly become an ACE pilot, like "I'm turning to the right WHILE I'm firing missiles to that ship on my left and - oh, a looping, just for the fun")
Add to that incredible gameplay a truly solid community (the game is cross-platform, god damn it ! You fight Vive and Oculus players ! There's even a war of the platforms going on underneath xD ) AND the fact that the developpers are constantly adding new maps, options, combats modes.... For FREE.

Yeah, sorry Starblood. But EVE makes me happy. From my point of view, the killer app of the PSVR.

Re: Final Fantasy XV's Story Was Purposefully Left Incomplete

Bobobiwan

I always took this particular narrative as this : an artistic choice, a will to focus on a character who is underwhelmed by what's going on around him. Telling the story this way make you miss a lot of the whole plot, but it also make you really care about Noct and his friends.
It's really different of what we're used to, FFXV is a puzzle, really. We have to earn his story. You have to play the platinum demo, the arcade game A king's Tale, but also watching the movie Kingsglaive (which is the introduction cinematic, in a way) and THEN you have to read one or two other things.
Hell, there's even a TRAILER that count in the narrative ("Dawn", showing Regis crying while he's holding Noctis in his arms) and not a single frame of this trailer is in the game.
I really think that they tried something new. They intended to tell a story by pieces, to create a grand ensemble of something... But a lot of people are missing the point (and they have the right to).
I'm pretty sure that XVI will be more traditionnal in its way of telling a story.

Re: PS4 Firmware Update 4.50 Massively Improves PlayStation Move

Bobobiwan

I just bought again Gravity (I had it in 2D) to be blown away with a REAL 3D movie... Took Mad Max and Doctor Strange, too. And... her... I confess : Transformer 4. Don't look at me like that ! I've read everywhere that this is THE top of the mountain in terms of 3D treatment... As for the movie itself, well... we'll see.
By the way, question to those wo watch movies on PSVR now : which screen size do you use ?
I just can't make up my mind between medium and big. And the update says that medium and small (but no big) had their fps upgraded from 90hz to 120hz...
So ?

Re: PS4 Firmware Update 4.50 Massively Improves PlayStation Move

Bobobiwan

I noticed it yesterday, playing until dawn rush of blood (and screaming again like a little girl) : no need to recalibrate the move every five minutes like it used to be.
I'd even say that it's not only the move, but the headset tracking system too (seems logical, it's kinda the same system - light + motion sensors, etc.).

I'm really super hyped by this update. The PsVr is the winner, here. Before, the cinematic mode was ok, like "I watched one or two scenes of my favorites movies" ok. But now, I really want to watch entire movies on that virtual screen. Hell, I just started a blu-ray 3D collection, for the occasion ! Doctor Strange, here I am !

Re: A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV Slashes onto PS4 For Free in March

Bobobiwan

Aaaaah ! And thinking that I bought a code (yes : bought !) from an evil seller on EBay who abused my fanboy attitude ! I paid 30 euros, months ago, just for this game ! o_O
The reason was that I wanted the complete FFXV experience, and since the code didn't came with my version of the game... I COULD HAVE WAIT, SQUARE-ENIX, IF ONLY YOU TOLD ME TO. But no, nothing, you kept your fans in the dark and let some evil sellers speculate on this "rare, never coming again" game.
Board. At least, the game is good. Damn good, if you are nostalgic of the 16 bits era. And I am.

Re: Feature: Is Resident Evil 7 Any Good with PlayStation VR?

Bobobiwan

I played the démo and while I found it very impressive (and awesome) I was a little bit disturbed by those guys on the video. Something felt... wrong. Like they were dwarfs, or something. And then I realised that it was my brain telling me that something didn't work out : those guys were standing, and at my size while I was sitting.
So I got up (and felt like a giant to them), pressed "option" for two secondes to recalibrate... et voilà ! Things felt finally right, and the guys were litterally walking with me (the "presence" feeling is unbelivable).
So I know that I'll HAVE TO play the game STANDING, like I did with Batman (which is awesome) and that's fine, cause I usually turn my head in all directions, trying to never use the right stick (the system didn't make me sick but I think that it breaks the immersion)
Try to play it while standing

Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PlayStation Game of 2016?

Bobobiwan

I just finished my best game of 2016, and for me, it's clearly BATMAN : ARKHAM VR.

Ok, maybe I'm extatic, cause I'm discovering just now the magic of the VR (and honestly... what a thrill !!) but still. I've played a lot of VR games/experiences (same thing, for me) this days, putting my beloved FFXV in pause to play with the brand new headset...
And oh boy. This Batman. Everything is perfect in this game. It's designed FOR the virtual reality, it looks absolutely gorgeous, it takes your mind and dive it in another world.
And it's still one of the best Batman tale that I've been told. Perfect continuation of Arkham City. The Rocksteady guys are geniuses, really.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This... Christmas? - Issue 5

Bobobiwan

Merry Christmas to all ! Can't wait to open my PSVR and get to finally try this new world of gaming... Meanwhile, I'm devoting myself to FFXV, which is astonishing, in my opinion. I completely disagree with all the critics I read. This game is a blast, pure-joy gaming.
No disrespect to those who don't love it (it's their god damn right) but me... I just love it.

Re: Hardware Review: PS4 Pro - 4King Amazing?

Bobobiwan

@get2sammyb Hey Sammy, thanks for the review !
I don't post very often but I'm a long-time reader and I want to thank all the team here for your good hard work. For example, you're the ones that convince me (and my brother) to launch ourselves on the adventure of the Playstation VR, and that's been a thrill so far.
Anyway, my question is : is there any chance that you, or someone of the team, can prepare a list of decent 4K / HDR TVs - at different prices and sizes - that you can recommand for playing with this new baby ?

I'm interested in changing my TV right now, but I feel that this is a real jungle. One second I think I found a good model, with reasonnable price and decent specs, the other, I find out that "meh the response of the screen is no good for playing" etc, etc...
I' m interested in PS4 Pro (so my brother, and some friends), but only if we get the right screen to see the real change.
Any advice ?
