I can see that objectively, everything in this game seems to make it far more polished than Anthem. I don't deny that. But I'm personnaly sticking with Anthem for its lore, and its gameplay. I'm choosing the high-tech mecha armor over the mercenary with a gun.
Maybe it is also because a lot of gamers don't find themselves in this hating buzz train that we can find here and there on video games websites.
I mean, the game is not perfect, we all know that, but it possess some really, really strong qualities at its core (general design, graphics, gameplay). It's all about perception : do we need to focus on the positive or the negative ?
Sometimes, by reading headnews like "another catastrophy ! Anthem is again blablabla" I'm really questionning myself why do the press seems to make this game a Fallout-76-like ? Because it's not one.
I'm still enjoying the game. I don't particulary like EA, but I'm still enjoying the game. But hey maybe I'm wrong.
@Shellcore you've said it all. I'm playing this game since day one, and with work and family stuff, I can only play a few hours per week, which is fine. I'm currently lvl 20, and I'm really enjoying it. It's funny, cause all this negativity on the web really do not reflect my experience. For me, it's just a fun game. Sure it has some flaws (Fort Tarsis is difficult to defend, and yet I'm enjoying those long conversations), but for god sake you play as IRON MAN ! I think it's important to precise that all those so called scandals only concern very demanding players, who can achieve to become lvl 30 in three days, playing 18 hours a day, and then scream everywhere that there is no content.
For an average player like myself, it is a very good game. The campaign till lvl 30 is simply nicely done, in my opinion. And it takes a lot of hours to complete it.
The game is good, very good, at its core. It's good that Bioware is taking care of fixing things first, to establish a good base for future content. From what I've read so far, there isn't any bricked PS4, just consoles that had to be rebooted in safe mode (with a databse reconstruction). And some users who didn't know how to do it assumed their consoles were bricked, except they were not. Apparently. It's still unaceptable as a situation, this kind of bug should NOT have passed any phase of testing. But it's not as serious as a game bricking a console. I think the OS of the PS4 is safe enough to not be destroyed by a simple game, no matter how buggy it can be.
Oh, and this patch will also integrate the possibility of launching a mission, contrat or whatever, from ANYWHERE IN FORT TARSIS. And that's very good for all the people who can't stand this place. Personnaly, I plan to continue launching my missions from my javelin base, just to see this sweet animation of my character entering the armor. It's so cool.
I'm enjoying the game. Really, I do. I defend the game on every occasion I have. But this... This is beyond words.
I was wondering, during my progression, why I didn't felt particulary stronger, lvl after lvl. The challenge remained the same for me. It's that scaling system : its even concept is a contradiction to the very purpose of the game, which is to become more and more powerfull.
The whole point of the game is anihilated. This need a serious re-thinking, and patching ASAP.
I'm having a really good time with it and I honestly don't understand all this negativity around it. The graphics and the gameplay are so good ! I'm really hooked to this game. I respect everyone's opinion, but it's my sacred right to disagree with the general tone of the reviews involved here. This isn't a mixed bag for me. It's not a "meeeh... Ok, but..." No. It's one the best games I've played in a long time. But, hey, that's just my opinion.
I said it countless times : everyone interested in a good superman game, please take a look at Megaton Rainfall. And if you can, play it on PSVR.
Basically, in this game, you ARE Superman. You can save or destroy entire cities. You can fly in a second out there in space, go take a walk on the surface of the sun (!!!!), fly across the rings of Saturn or even go further than the one and only Milky Way.
And I won't even talk about the final fight of the game, one of the most epic thing I have ever seen. And played. In VR !!!!! That game is so awesome.
Considering it, I'm pretty confident that Rocksteady, if they're doing a Sup' game, have taken a very good look at Megaton mechanics...
There was a censorship for the previous one : the game never made it to the west. That was the censorship. You cannot censor a game more than that.
And this one will have the same treatment, I bet. Because, if I remember correctly, all of this censorship case concerns only the west. Japanese gamers keep playing those games that some western people find so offensive, with no trouble at all.
Only question, here, for the DoA fans : will there be an english / asia version, that they can import ?
@naruball What I wanted to say is : I know PSVR sales are good. They're good within the context of a mergin market. But they can be better with a lot more communication.
I'm a fan of PSVR, since day one. I'm delighted by it, considering myself a VR enthousiast. As a PSVR user, I know, for a fact, that there are lots of games to play on it. So I'm confident for the future, of VR in general, but also of PSVR in particular.
BUT everyday I read here and there, from people who DON'T OWN an headset, that "VR is dead" or that "There is no game on PSVR" or again "Sony dropped it like it dropped the VITA". We can off course quickly qualify these comments as pure trolling, but the truth is that a lot of these people genually DON'T KNOW that PSVR is doing ok, that there are games and that they're good.
I consider ASTROBOT a revolution of the platformer genre. How many people, except the PSVR owners, know that there is a game called ASTROBOT that launched ? I had to go to several stores to buy my copy when it launched. Even some managers of those stores didn't know what this game was.
What is certain is that their attitude is at the extreme opposite of Microsoft's. The X018 event was, in short, just a gamepass commercial (and not necesseraly a good one), but it was an event. It had some energy (too much, I know, yeah... What the hell was this audience... ?), and it was, you know, some form of communication. Phil Spencer just said a few words, but at least he was there, and said something.
It's this kind of stuff that Sony is really lacking right now, and what I don't like is that I can't stop myself of thinking that their silence is just the result of their sales : why should they care ? The ps4 is selling, games are selling, everything is ok, right ? RIGHT ? No, god no. With a little more communication, just a little, they could improve those PSVR sales, for exemple. They're good, I know. Considering context, the PSVR is selling all right. But where are the commercials ? Where are thoses demo stations, those execs talking about how incredible and astonishing Astrobot really is ?
Microsoft is gonna give a really good performance at next E3, I'm sure of it. Why ? Cause Sony is letting them.
It seems cristal clear to me : they simply don't have anything more to show. There's no more new AAA games in preparation for the Ps4 except those that we already know (Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Days Gone).
AND they simply cannot show anythning on the PS5 neither. So they're stuck. My guess is that they want to start big with the PS5 (I'm pretty sure the three games we're talking about will be cross-gen), and since the PS4 is selling itself without the need for them to do anything...
If Microsoft is smart, they'll do anything to give their best E3 conference ever. Sony is giving them a big chance to shine, here.
I'm pretty sure that in GTA, you can go grab a hooker, then have intercourse with her, then take her to a dark street and smash her head with a hammer. Then you can steal a car and drive like a madman to smash some kids that are playing soccer. Don't know about Red Dead, thought.
Look, there will always be a debate like "are we allowed to do this ?" or "can we let THAT pass ?" but the thing is, this kind of crazy-talking about what's right and what's not, where is good and where is evil.. All af this leads us to a world where APU will be deleted from the Simpson's world. Off course it will.
I don't pretend to have the answers here. But I know that I'm not comfortable with this vibe where others tell me what's good for me and what's not. Like I can't think by myself. I predict a tremendous backlash of all this kind of thinking in a decade : people will loose their minds, be so tired of this and go the extreme opposite : comedy will go the trash way again, like never.
As for the games, I don't like the idea of them being alterned, changed by OTHERS people than those who create the game originally. If some suits and ties think that the game is not for us western players, then don't release it. At all.
@Rob_230 "And VR has a strong fanbase who will pick up most releases for it meaning the attach rate is very high for software sold per headset."
THIS. You totally nailed it.
The VR market is a curious thing right now, cause it seems that a lot of people who hasn't joined onboard are not just expecting, but WHISHING for it to DIE. I don't know why, but apparently "VR has to die". It's the same people who will say "oh, cool game. Give it to me without the VR and I'll buy it".
Except those who did that for Resident VII, for exemple, clearly missed one of the best gaming experiences of their lives. REVII is quite good, but REVII in VR is a masterpiece. I never launched this game in 2d and I never will.
"I'm not giving my money, man. VR's gonna die anyway. All the signs are here. VR has to die. Cause I'm not giving my money, man !"
In the other hand, almost every PSVR owner has gone quite religious about it. The PSVR community is one of the strongest I've ever seen in gaming (no comparison with PsVita on this matter) : VR gamers always pass the word, share their experiences, they all turning into VR preachers in front of their friends, family, on work and on the web.
The feeling we have is that all of these people who are saying "VR's gonna die, man !" are to pity. Cause they don't know. They clearly don't know what they're talking about, but they're talking about it anyway. Lile children. And like children, in time, they will learn.
Ps : kudos to Driveclub VR !! Another exemple of this theory : every website clearly underscored this game, but it's been a very strong reference for the VR community from the start, because of its very generous content.
Poor wallet !! That's not fair !!
Astrobot is THE day one game of this year, for me. Like in : I buy it day one, sure, but I also PLAY IT day one (not like all of my others games which are going on the top of my backlog everytime).
I admit it : yes, I'll buy Senran Kagura too. And I'm expecting a Ps4 remaster of Shinovi Versus in order to get the full collection on the big screen.
And maybe Soul Calibur. Cause, you know, Ivy. Rofl.
I'm gonna buy a Switch and SmaBro instead. Yeah, it will cost more than just one game and a season pass, but the developpement perspective of Smash is so opposite to this kind of thing, it's like "if we want you to buy our game, let's make it the ultimate version possible". So refreshing. This Soul Cal ? It's DBFighterZ all over again. But hey, there's always worse. There is DoA 5. I just CAN'T WAIT to see what TN has in stores to milk us with the next one.
I just started Grand Turismo Sport. And the game is amazing, super addictive. They have patched it non-stop since the release, and I find a very different game that the one which was depicted in some reviews. The solo content is here, juste like before, and the sport mode is awesome.
I just started GT Sport recently, and it completly reactivated my love for driving games (maybe it was just ok when it launched, but it's a fact that it's now a frezaking awesome game ! Tons of things to do, to custom, and a really sense of LOVE for driving). Anyway, now I read this review (very well written by the way, kudos to the reviewer !) and I want a F1 game.
But I wonder : if Sony mandated this guy to do the Ps2-theme... Isn't there a real possibility ? For this concept to be released, I mean. It sounds possible !
And honestly, it may be the only theme that can replace my FFVII theme. For a time, at least.
I honestly found the general tone of the movie absolutely perfect. The dialogues are so well written, it really felt like a nathan drake adventure. Kudos to the directing too, with this sequence shot exactly like the game. Nice surprise to tease the fans, even if it's not really relevant (you don't have to make your movie look like a videogame, especially when the videogame you base your movie on is so desperate to... look like a movie !!). No really, it was all in the dialogues and the chemistry between the actors. The ending is so frustrating : we want to see what follows !!
Oh my god this is a complete game changer fort me ! I always thought that this was THE big design mystake of the game ! I originaly discovered this concept of "regenerating health" in the first Halo and was totally seduced by it. It was perfect for me : the game was stil challenging (you were not invincible) but not too much (take cover, think and wait). But in Halo it made sense : you had an energy shield (AND a health metter, in the first episode anyway).
When I found this system again in Uncharted, I was like : "ok, cool, but it doesn't make any sense... Basically, Nathan Drake is Wolverine ?" And in the second one, when Drake is shot (in the story) I instantly thought : " so I can recover from a machine gun assault by taking a 30-sec break, but here, ONE SHOT and I'm gonna die ???"
Now it finally make sense. It gives me the will to do them all again. And makes me think : was I stupid, at the time, for not interpretating the system right ?
Holy sh.... BEST NEWS OF THE MONTH !!! I've never thought this dream could have become real ! For so long I have waited for this ! I mean : I still play the demo from time to time, just to feel again the awesomess of it... And there... A full game... Say what you want, but sometimes, Sony DO listen to its fans... Thank you so much, guys !! I just can't wait to play a full game with this awesome little robot !!!
What worries me is the fact that there's seems to be a pattern, I don't know, some kind of an echo between this game and LoU2. Two Post-apocalyptic-zombies games. It's strange, really.
PSVR 2 is what makes me excited about the PS5. I couldn't care less, without it. The Ps4 games are so impressive right now, I don't care about an ultra super mega resolution or what. Full HD really suits me so... 4k ? 8k ? Sure, if you want, but it won't be a selling point for me. But VR ? What is EXTREMELY EXCITING about PSVR is : 1) How AWESOME the technology is RIGHT NOW (I really love this piece of hardware) 2) How easy it is to see what can be upgraded.
It's like we're on the first playstation again : we can see how awesome the future will be. Better graphics, better resolution, better tracking, better controlers... PSVR is just so great right now, even with all its infancy limitations, so just to dream about the future...
Just imagine : what VR will looke like in 40 years ? Can you imagine ?
I know this is a debate every generation but I'm really, reallly hoping for a full backward compatibility. I lile the idea of keeping my games library and just update the console. Hell, I'm interested in Xbox one now that the BC option is so well rendered, with all those original Xbox games running, with you very own (and old) disc, running in a glorious HD signal with not a single more purchase from you. This is saling argument for me, so I'm considering it (just to play Kotor 1 and 2 with a beautifull picture). SO. Sony, please. Let me just trade my Ps4 pro for a PS5, and let me keep my games. Like I did with my Ps4, when I traded it for a ps4 pro.
Off course I’ll want all the Yakuzas on my PS4. Plus, even if it's a simple remaster, here's a chance to finally get 5 on disc, in Europe. Bring them on !
What amazes me are the designs of those faces. The way they are drawn, in a way. They really look wrong, and it's not a question of budget. I'm not talking of animations, or lightning, or else. But just the drawing, the 3d model they use. Who approved that and decided that it was ok to show to people ?
Just give me the originals Dreamcast models ! Maybe they would look dated but they would surely look okay. Here ? That's not Ryo.
WTF is going on with that game ?
But, to be serious, it's pretty obvious that the main goal here is to show ON THE SHELFS that the Playstation VR do possess some killer-apps. You know, in order to boost sales, and all.
Personnaly, I'm glad there's a physical release, and I'm glad that I didn't rush myself on the game day one (was planning to get it anyway, but I had others games to finish first. Now I can bring home this lovely box).
Just wanted to add that this video of Barlog crying made me buy the game day one. Just to be clear : I was already convinced that this game would be ACE, and I was about to buy it anyway, but maybe later. My backlog is so huge, and I have so little time to play, trying to be reasonable, etc...
And then I saw this. Proof that this game is not a souless product manufactured by robots from a giga corporation who just want you to buy the newest version of their star IP. This video show that this game was made by people who CARED, who really tried to not f... up, who devoted themselves to give us the best experience possible. God of War is not Call of Duty, nor it's Fifa.
So I bought it, on launch day. And I'm about to play it on a straight line, focusing on it, like I rarely do. Until I've finished it, I'm off the internet, in order to not be spoiled in any way.
Some people say this video is pure communication. Sure it is. The story about the son doesn't justify an upload online (he could have just showed it on its computer). But it is good communication, and in this case, an honnest one.
I've got the game right now, but I'll only be able to play it in a full week (cause I want to play it under the right conditions, first of it is time). But I don't even need to launch it to know that these guys can be proud of their work.
Thanks, M. barlog, for all the joy, and fear, and rage, all the emotions that I'm about to live throught your amazing, fantastic work. Thanks a lot.
Great game in VR with virtually no interest on a flat screen. Reminds me of Eve Valkyrie : one of the best VR experiences avalaible, they made it compatible with flat screen in a recent update and the result was... meh.... Yeah, no. This is not a good move : 1) the game won't gain a million sales by using this kind of strategy. It was developped with VR in mind, so it's potential buyers already got the game. 2) the game won't be judged as positively as before on a flat screen. Bad buzz, or no buzz at all. Valkyrie did not encounter suddent success with its non-Vr update. Because the game, without VR, is simply not as good as with it. 3) this kind of move is bad publicity for VR in general, right at the moment where it seems to finally take its flight (prices are lower, games keep coming). Potential PSVR buyers will just wait, now. Wait to see if, by any chance, the game they're interested in would eventually be patched for non VR players. By exemple : a lot of people think Moss looks really great, but are just waiting for a non VR update. So they don't buy the headset (which you HAVE to buy, just for Resident Evil and Wipeout. And Farpoint. And so other games.)
Even in the second one, I never used (nor wanted to use) time skip. This is the main goal of the game ! And there is so much to do. Arcade games, for example!!
Perfect pricing point. The last thing we need is a game too expensive to tempt the curious buyers. The more people discover these games, the more possible an hypothetical Shenmue 4 (yes, 4) can be.
What I'm expecting now is an annoucement from Yu Suzuki himself telling us that his future Shenmue 3 will let you continue your save from 1 & 2 HD. How awesome would it be !! And I know, differents publishers and developpers, I know... But maybe they can work together just a little, for this kind of extra bonus.
@get2sammyb Excellent article, I can only applause to this intelligent initiative ! "Shenmue" is so often refered as an absolutely cult title that many gamers from today could be disapointed when trying to see if the legend is true. It's all a matter of context. Personnally, I grew tired, something like three or four years ago, of this waiting for a remaster that would never come. So I decided, at the time, to buy a Dreamcast (which I never had before) in order to finally play these titles. I beat the first Shenmue in a straight line (something I never do), I just couldn't drop the controller. Everything was so brillant. I suprised myself in finding that I was commited to do properly my job, my in-game-job, to earn proper money. And to spend this money in figurines and arcade games. I was hooked ! The game litterally absorbed me.
Then I played the second one, on xbox 360, cause I wanted to continue the game in english and to be able to enjoy it with the better quality possible (on 360, the Xbox version of Shenmue II really looks like an HD port already). And boy, this masterpiece. Shenmue II is incredible. Its story, its scale, the way it takes every good idea of the first one to another level... Proper genius.
Anyway, I'm loosing myself again. Point is : great article !! And I just CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY THOSE GAMES AGAIN ! (Btw I'm thinking : let's hope some trophies will be very difficult, like making a perfect score to some old arcade classic games !)
To those who wish to discover this saga in order to be ready for Shenmue III, an important note : do not judge these games by today standarts. Yeah, seems pretty obvious, I know, but I can see coming all the "but that's crap ! So THAT 's what all the fuzz was about ? Really ?" The gameplay is pretty wierd (I can't wait to play again those titles with a regular dual stick control sheme !), but Shenmue is all about the ambiance, the world it describe and the story. The fact that an amazing vengeance story manages to takes place in a regular environnment, where you have to find a job and a place to crash, etc...
The first one was a masterpiece, but the second one was litterally genius. Proper genius.
It's Shenmue, there's no doubt about it. The dialogue on the Sega Europe Twitter account is cristal clear. Plus the timing is ideal : if they don't announce it now, the "collection" will never be out before the third installment. And it has to.
The only question that remains is : will it be a full remake (Ã la Shadow of the Colossus) or a simple HD port ? The odds seem definitly in favor of the second option, which is fine by me.
Wooot ! You dared to put Drive Club #1, that's a very nice surprise ! I'm so tired to explain to people that this game is the real deal, that you cannot stand today on the reviews made for the launch, the game has SO improved till then. But for bow, I just can't stop playing Wipeout in VR !! Such a great job !!
I admit it : I didn't get the joke until the part on God of War. I was like: "Mmmkay... Dices, huh ? So, what's the catch ? How are they... Huh ? Roll the dice ? Ooooooooh okay ! April's fool, right !" I must be really tired xD
@get2sammyb You forgot Pixel Ripped 1989 (which is my most anticipated game right now !!) and the adaptation of CREED, which can surprisingly be an excellent boxing game !
Wow ! I just bought the game LAST WEEK just to be ready for this update !! I was checking everyday if it had gone live, and now I read that... This is huge. Sony has to advertise this, maybe with a bundle, or something. Wipeout in freaking VR ! How cool is that ??!! See you on tracks, dudes !
For me, it's simple : I consider "interesting" an offer to play nowadays, on my HD set, games that were released before the HD era. So, regarding the Sony library, I'm interested to play any Psone or Ps2 game on my actual devices, cause the original consoles don't match anymore with the screens we use. I have waited for FFXII so long ! The original looks like crap on my HD set, when the remaster is beauty of every instant.
BUT for any Ps3 game that is released again on PS4, I just look away. I still own my PS3, it is still plugged on my TV, side by side with my PS4 pro. And I still play it, like, a lot. So, for The Last of Us, or the Uncharted saga, I stick with the originals.
Same thing for any "remaster of remaster" (really ?) : the Devil May Cry collection, or Zone of The Enders. I already got them on Ps3, so, no thanks.
If I recall it right, MGS V uses also this technique. Except that, in Kojima's latest Snake adventure, the game has a mission structure that breaks the "one move" dynamic. But when we were in a mission, everything was single framed, from the gameplay to the cinematics, really giving you the feeling of playing in a movie. If God of War does apply this technique to the all game, it sure will be fantastic. Can't wait !
@KALofKRYPTON Yeah, I think I was misguided by the visuals. Maybe I was expecting a revolution like when we went from III to IV (which is impossible, cause we went from 2D to 3D). But I've read here and there that the gameplay in V is really well thought. Now that the game seems to be complete (arcade mode and all of that), maybe I'll purchase it with the collection. I think it's time, now ! ;D
It's very clever from Capcom. The Ps4 port of SFIV is brillant, despite a bad launch (how ironic) : it IS now the ultimate version of this great game. However, that's part of the problem : it is so great that I never felt the urge to buy SFV, especially with this chaotic launch. It just looks so similar to IV from where I stand, but with less characters and polish. I don't know.
I'm among the three people on earth who actually LOVED every second of the Order. The design, the graphics, the story, the acting, everything in this game pleased me to the highest point. Sure, the gameplay in itself wasn't very strong, but I was totally okay with the focus on the narrative that they tried. I loved The Order 1886. I still do.
@get2sammyb Hey I was thinking : a great article would be a list of top titles where the Push Team has effectively found a real difference on a 1080p screen when the supersampling option is enabled.
Off course we can try ourselves with our own titles, but I think a list like that can push us to dig out some old title and play it again with a better picture would be nice ! What do you think ?

Basically, in this game, you ARE Superman. You can save or destroy entire cities. You can fly in a second out there in space, go take a walk on the surface of the sun (!!!!), fly across the rings of Saturn or even go further than the one and only Milky Way.
And I won't even talk about the final fight of the game, one of the most epic thing I have ever seen. And played. In VR !!!!! That game is so awesome.
Considering it, I'm pretty confident that Rocksteady, if they're doing a Sup' game, have taken a very good look at Megaton mechanics...
Re: Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet Announced Amid Sony Censorship Row
There was a censorship for the previous one : the game never made it to the west. That was the censorship. You cannot censor a game more than that.
And this one will have the same treatment, I bet. Because, if I remember correctly, all of this censorship case concerns only the west. Japanese gamers keep playing those games that some western people find so offensive, with no trouble at all.
Only question, here, for the DoA fans : will there be an english / asia version, that they can import ?
Re: Soapbox: Fans Think PlayStation's Losing Momentum, And Sony's to Blame
Re: Soapbox: Fans Think PlayStation's Losing Momentum, And Sony's to Blame
Re: Reaction: Sony's Decision to Skip E3 2019 Is Confounding, But One We Can't Judge Yet
Re: Sony Underfire in Renewed PS4 Censorship Row
At all.
Re: NPD Reveals PSVR's Best Sellers in the US So Far
Re: Guide: New PS4 Games Releasing in October 2018
Poor wallet !! That's not fair !!
Astrobot is THE day one game of this year, for me. Like in : I buy it day one, sure, but I also PLAY IT day one (not like all of my others games which are going on the top of my backlog everytime).
I admit it : yes, I'll buy Senran Kagura too. And I'm expecting a Ps4 remaster of Shinovi Versus in order to get the full collection on the big screen.
And maybe Soul Calibur. Cause, you know, Ivy. Rofl.
Re: Gamescom 2018: Bandai Namco Defends Decision to Add Tira as DLC in SoulCalibur VI
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 233
I just started Grand Turismo Sport. And the game is amazing, super addictive. They have patched it non-stop since the release, and I find a very different game that the one which was depicted in some reviews. The solo content is here, juste like before, and the sport mode is awesome.
Re: Review: F1 2018 (PS4)
I just started GT Sport recently, and it completly reactivated my love for driving games (maybe it was just ok when it launched, but it's a fact that it's now a frezaking awesome game ! Tons of things to do, to custom, and a really sense of LOVE for driving). Anyway, now I read this review (very well written by the way, kudos to the reviewer !) and I want a F1 game.
I think I'll preorder the damn thing !
Re: This PSone Theme for PS4 Deserves a Commercial Release
But I wonder : if Sony mandated this guy to do the Ps2-theme... Isn't there a real possibility ? For this concept to be released, I mean. It sounds possible !
And honestly, it may be the only theme that can replace my FFVII theme. For a time, at least.
Re: Uncharted Fan Film Sparks Digital Series Discussions
I honestly found the general tone of the movie absolutely perfect. The dialogues are so well written, it really felt like a nathan drake adventure. Kudos to the directing too, with this sequence shot exactly like the game. Nice surprise to tease the fans, even if it's not really relevant (you don't have to make your movie look like a videogame, especially when the videogame you base your movie on is so desperate to... look like a movie !!).
No really, it was all in the dialogues and the chemistry between the actors. The ending is so frustrating : we want to see what follows !!
Re: Nathan Drake's Regenerative Health Was Actually His 'Luck Running Out'
Oh my god this is a complete game changer fort me !
Basically, Nathan Drake is Wolverine ?"
And in the second one, when Drake is shot (in the story) I instantly thought : " so I can recover from a machine gun assault by taking a 30-sec break, but here, ONE SHOT and I'm gonna die ???"
Now it finally make sense. It gives me the will to do them all again. And makes me think : was I stupid, at the time, for not interpretating the system right ?
Re: Japan Studio Announces Stunning PSVR Exclusive Platformer
Re: Days Gone Pushing PS4 to Its Limits, Says Sony Bend
What worries me is the fact that there's seems to be a pattern, I don't know, some kind of an echo between this game and LoU2. Two Post-apocalyptic-zombies games. It's strange, really.
Re: PlayStation VR Is Growing, But Virtual Reality Is Stumbling
PSVR 2 is what makes me excited about the PS5. I couldn't care less, without it. The Ps4 games are so impressive right now, I don't care about an ultra super mega resolution or what. Full HD really suits me so... 4k ? 8k ? Sure, if you want, but it won't be a selling point for me.
But VR ? What is EXTREMELY EXCITING about PSVR is :
1) How AWESOME the technology is RIGHT NOW (I really love this piece of hardware)
2) How easy it is to see what can be upgraded.
Re: Sony Commits Support to PS4 Through 2021
I know this is a debate every generation but I'm really, reallly hoping for a full backward compatibility.
Re: Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 Remasters Heading to PS4
Off course I’ll want all the Yakuzas on my PS4. Plus, even if it's a simple remaster, here's a chance to finally get 5 on disc, in Europe. Bring them on !
Re: Shenmue III Looks Like It's Going to Need Every Minute of That Delay
What amazes me are the designs of those faces. The way they are drawn, in a way. They really look wrong, and it's not a question of budget. I'm not talking of animations, or lightning, or else. But just the drawing, the 3d model they use. Who approved that and decided that it was ok to show to people ?
Just give me the originals Dreamcast models ! Maybe they would look dated but they would surely look okay. Here ? That's not Ryo.
WTF is going on with that game ?
Re: Moss Is Getting a Physical Release, But Its Boxart Leaves a Lot to Be Desired
@Savino HOW DARE YOU... ? XD
Re: God of War Director Reacts to Gushing Reviews
Re: Battlezone Gold Edition Announced for PS4, VR no Longer Required from May
Great game in VR with virtually no interest on a flat screen. Reminds me of Eve Valkyrie : one of the best VR experiences avalaible, they made it compatible with flat screen in a recent update and the result was... meh.... Yeah, no.
This is not a good move :
1) the game won't gain a million sales by using this kind of strategy.
Re: ANTHEM Will Be 'Distinctly BioWare', But 'Unlike Anything You've Played'
Looks like something that will require a connexion, to me. An so, I will pass.
Re: Shenmue I & II Will Not Add Time Skip to the First Game
Even in the second one, I never used (nor wanted to use) time skip. This is the main goal of the game ! And there is so much to do. Arcade games, for example!!
Re: You Won't Need to Win Many Games of Lucky Hit to Afford Shenmue I & II
Perfect pricing point. The last thing we need is a game too expensive to tempt the curious buyers. The more people discover these games, the more possible an hypothetical Shenmue 4 (yes, 4) can be.
What I'm expecting now is an annoucement from Yu Suzuki himself telling us that his future Shenmue 3 will let you continue your save from 1 & 2 HD. How awesome would it be !! And I know, differents publishers and developpers, I know... But maybe they can work together just a little, for this kind of extra bonus.
Re: Soapbox: Why You Should Play Shenmue I & II on PS4
Re: Shenmue I & II Searching for Sailors on PS4 in 2018
To those who wish to discover this saga in order to be ready for Shenmue III, an important note : do not judge these games by today standarts. Yeah, seems pretty obvious, I know, but I can see coming all the "but that's crap ! So THAT 's what all the fuzz was about ? Really ?"
The gameplay is pretty wierd (I can't wait to play again those titles with a regular dual stick control sheme !), but Shenmue is all about the ambiance, the world it describe and the story. The fact that an amazing vengeance story manages to takes place in a regular environnment, where you have to find a job and a place to crash, etc...
The first one was a masterpiece, but the second one was litterally genius. Proper genius.
Re: SEGA Teases a 'Huge' Announcement for Tomorrow
It's Shenmue, there's no doubt about it. The dialogue on the Sega Europe Twitter account is cristal clear. Plus the timing is ideal : if they don't announce it now, the "collection" will never be out before the third installment. And it has to.
The only question that remains is : will it be a full remake (Ã la Shadow of the Colossus) or a simple HD port ? The odds seem definitly in favor of the second option, which is fine by me.
Ryo Hazuki is back, guys !
Re: Guide: The Best PS4 Racing Games
Re: Site News: Introducing Our Brand New Review Scoring System
I admit it : I didn't get the joke until the part on God of War. I was like: "Mmmkay... Dices, huh ? So, what's the catch ? How are they... Huh ? Roll the dice ? Ooooooooh okay ! April's fool, right !"
I must be really tired xD
Anyway, good joke !
Re: Guide: Upcoming PSVR Games in 2018
@get2sammyb You forgot Pixel Ripped 1989 (which is my most anticipated game right now !!) and the adaptation of CREED, which can surprisingly be an excellent boxing game !
Re: First Dragon Ball FighterZ DLC Characters Broly and Bardock Are Out Now on PS4
KAKARRROTTOOOOOOooooo !!!!
Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
Re: Hands On: WipEout PSVR Will Absolutely Melt Your Mind
Re: Poll: What Do You Think About Remasters?
Re: Cory Barlog Wanted Tomb Raider to Be a Single Shot
If I recall it right, MGS V uses also this technique. Except that, in Kojima's latest Snake adventure, the game has a mission structure that breaks the "one move" dynamic. But when we were in a mission, everything was single framed, from the gameplay to the cinematics, really giving you the feeling of playing in a movie.
If God of War does apply this technique to the all game, it sure will be fantastic. Can't wait !
Re: Pre-Order Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection for Ultra Street Fighter IV
I think it's time, now ! ;D
Re: Pre-Order Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection for Ultra Street Fighter IV
Re: Superb Narrative Experiment The Invisible Hours Sheds PSVR Requirement
The problem of this title has always been the price tag. Everybody is waiting for a sale, now.
Re: The Order: 1886's Ready at Dawn Prepping New Third-Person Action Game
I'm among the three people on earth who actually LOVED every second of the Order. The design, the graphics, the story, the acting, everything in this game pleased me to the highest point. Sure, the gameplay in itself wasn't very strong, but I was totally okay with the focus on the narrative that they tried.
I loved The Order 1886. I still do.
Re: Feature: 6 PS4 Firmware Update 5.50 Features You Need to Know About
@get2sammyb Hey I was thinking : a great article would be a list of top titles where the Push Team has effectively found a real difference on a 1080p screen when the supersampling option is enabled.
Off course we can try ourselves with our own titles, but I think a list like that can push us to dig out some old title and play it again with a better picture would be nice ! What do you think ?
Re: PS4 Firmware Update 5.50 Available for Download Now
I'm more than happy to get new options to organize the dashboard. Really great news here. Will download it, first thing in the morning !
