I just want them to make Pillars 3, but it seems that's not gonna happen, this studio seems destined to keep churning "bethesda-like" RPGS for better or worse
I really liked the combat and I have to say that the artstyle is quite amazing (kinda wish we got a proper JRPG with these looks), but holy crap the story is bad. I'll keep going through it until I get all the trophies and then I'll probably stop. So far the only of these games that managed to keep me going back was Honkai Star Rail.
Just like the thread in Resetera (where this article was pulled from) you missed the whole context of the tweets by leaving out the rest of the message that he posted.
The only one I played constantly was Honkai Star Rail because the story was actually quite fun the first couple of areas, but I'm not much into the gacha aspect. That said, holy crap the art style looks so good on this game.
It's so odd that this is the one game where they drew the line about simultaneous releases. I think it may end up hurting them in the long run, since GTA6 is going to hog most people's attention
@tselliot Larian was always quite transparent on how they develop their games, and it's actually quite refreshing, I wish a lot more studios were like them. The probably is that the people that have gaming as a hobby are generally not the most well adjusted kind of people, and then you get situations like this.
Honest question, does Limited Run Games have dirt on a lot of the CEOs of these companies? How the heck do they keep getting these deals when people keep complaining about their services?!
The episodic release worked because you were getting 2 episodes every week for 4 weeks, you didn't have to wait months or even up to 1 year like you did with old Telltale games and LiS games.
The 2 major things that made me stop playing was the introduction of Eververse and later the "You had to be there" mentality that causes story to disappear basically making you buy those season passes for 10€ due to FOMO.
I'm really looking forward to this one. It's made by ex-Bioware vets, looks a looot like ME and the lore so far has been pretty cool. I read the Archimedes Engine and it was pretty dope.
As a TV show, I would give it a 9. Love the story, the characters and the humor. As a game, it's barely a 6. You can miss all the QTE's, the dispatch minigame, the hacking and not choose any dialog and nothing major will change.
I'm still going through the Cold Steel games (at the 3rd one right now) and I'll only get to Sky after I finish those. Granted I should do it after Reverie and Daybreak as well, but I don't have the mental fortitude to wait.
Not playing the second one. I played and beat the first one, was kinda fun, but it still felt like an offbrand Fallout with worse combat, and the most vanilla companions ever.
Ridiculous article from IGN. 99.9% of humanity has and/or will experience grief, that's just part of life. So having it in stories with human characters or human-like characters is the most natural thing in the world.
@get2sammyb Oh these are getting scalped to high heaven, dude. The crappy part is that instead of making a bundle with the characters they're dividing it into several, probably with cards no one wants, just to stretch the price.
It looks cool, lets see if it's good. If "losing creative minds" makes the game have less of his head up its own ass, I'm all good for that. The first game was a bit pretentious at points, to say the least. I still really liked it though.
Funny that they're asking if you want more info about MGS Collection Vol.2 since they haven't give any info. My sources at the time told me there were 2 volumes, but they said that the games would be divided between Solid Snake games and BB games (which wasn't true), so now I wonder if we'll ever get the volume 2 collection.
There's a camera option at the start of the game where you play a curated experience selected by the devs, this leads me to believe it will swap between first person and third depending of the areas you're in or maybe the characters you play.
This looks ok, but I'm still skeptical. SH2 was great, but they worked with an established game, I cannot forget the half-dozen or so crappy games that they released before. Still, hoping it's cool.
@Propaperpusher It's not really a souls-like. There's no bonfires, no "souls currency". It's just an action game with very deep exploration. The demo was kinda cool, I'm looking forward to it.
Kinda wish they would bring the Ori games over as well, the second one is especially amazing. I bought NRftW's early access when it became available, mainly due to the art style and loving the Ori games, and I have to say that the game isn't that good.

Re: Fatal Frame 2's PS5 Remake Shaping Up to Be a 2026 Horror Standout
Cannot wait for this. The Project Zero games are very cool survival horrors, especially Crimson Butterfly and The Tormented.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Game Awards 2025?
I thought it was very good, but there was a point there where they went basically 1h30m without any awards, and that kinda blows a bit.

Re: 'If You Think It's Just a Remake, You're Hugely Mistaken': Yakuza Kiwami 3 Has 'Major Hints' About Series' Future

Re: Jaw-Dropping PS5 Remake Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Snaps a 12th March Release Date
From the game details in the game's website, it seems it's going to run at 30 FPS in consoles, even on Pro, which is odd.

@Jammer dude 6 could've been great if they just killed Kiryu off
Re: Yakuza Kiwami 3 Seemingly Leaked on Dev Website
Nice for people who haven't played it, but Yakuza 3 has the worst story of the series, or maybe tied with 5 for worst story.
Re: Superhero Adventure Game Dispatch Confirmed for PS5, and It's Releasing Episodically
I played the demo and it was really really funny. I'm looking forward to it, but I'll probably wait for a physical edition or buy it for peanuts on PC

It's ArcSys, so you'll have 12 characters at launch, and then they'll sell you 20 more over 2 years.

It's worth a read, if you like comics.
