Now that all of its episodes are out — and we've had time to actually process AdHoc Studio's interactive superhero show — we want to know what you think of Dispatch.
For those completely out of the loop, Dispatch is a pretty casual, choice-driven adventure based around a superhero dispatch service, and its story is spread across a total of eight episodes.
The first two of these episodes dropped on the 22nd October, with two additional episodes arriving every week after.
And despite concerns that have surrounded the concept of episodic releases for years now — ever since Telltale drove the model into the ground — Dispatch ended up being a major hit, with player numbers exploding week in, week out.
Really, it's the game's characters that have been the driving force behind its success. Fun personalities are carried by sharp writing, and there's plenty of drama to go around.
Again, Dispatch is probably best described as an 'interactive show' — and in that sense, it nails the same compulsion that comes with watching a top-tier Netflix series, or something similar.
"Assuming your tastes align with the game's comedic beats, Dispatch is a damn good time," is what we wrote in our full Dispatch PS5 review.
"While it's very light on meaningful gameplay, it tells a brilliantly paced, consistently entertaining superhero story that touches on some refreshingly adult themes," we concluded, awarding the title a 'great' 8/10.
