As was strongly suggested by last week's leak, Tales of Xillia will be the next Tales of game to get the remaster treatment.
Tales of Xillia Remastered will launch for PS5 on the 31st October, so it'll be here before you know it.
The revival will feature several new quality of life improvements, including objective markers and an enemy encounter toggle. It'll also come with all of the original game's cosmetic DLC (excluding some licensed stuff), and run at 60 frames per second at 4K resolution on PS5.

However, as we and many others (unfortunately) predicted, direct sequel Tales of Xillia 2 is not part of the package. A duology would make so much sense, but Bandai Namco has clearly decided against it.
Still, Xillia has been locked to the PS3 for over a decade now — so it's at least nice to see it finally unchained from Sony's old system.

Not having the second one kinda sucks. Still I'm a big Xillia fan, will get it for sure.
Xillia is still one of my favourite Tales games so I'll definitely play this, but it's a real shame Xillia 2 isn't included. This could have easily been a definitive package.
I'm disappointed that it does not include the second one, but depending on the price I may pick this up. Hopefully they'll release the second one next year.
It's no Tales of Destiny but its fine.
While it sucks that Bandai Namco will make us pay $80 to play both Tales of Xillia 1+2 (assuming 2 actually gets remastered), I'm just glad that this game is finally being freed from its PS3 prison.
The more PS3 exclusives on modern platforms, the better.
My PS3 is still up and running so I'll pass. But if you never played Xillia before and aren't allergic to JRPGs, the just get it, it's really good.
I think this was the last tales game I actually finished......but I'm still disappointed,1 it's just the first and not both xillia 1+2, but mainly it's not tales of the abyss I mean I don't play Jrpg's anymore well any game for that matter just no time lol but I do like reading game news but I would have made an exception with the abyss being my all time favorite tales game
This is one of the oldest games in my backlog, the PS3 original that is. Really should get around to playing it. Loved ToS.
I remember liking this when I played it on PS3, but i also remember thinking the ending wasnt all that great
I'm a big fan of the Tales of -series and I will definitely be picking this up
No Xillia 2 is a bit of a shame, but I'm sure it's next on the list of remasters. I'll take it, Xillia 1 was my first Tales game and I've honestly not spent much time with the other games in the series (mainly just Xillia 2, the Vita game and Symphonia Chronicles, the rest I either didn't play or I didn't get far), this might be a great way to get fully into the series.
@Questionable_Duck I'm sure we will get 2. It's not exactly like Symphonia's sequel in terms of reception.
Why bundle it when you can sell the sequel separately next year. Then bundle them both later!
I could never get into the tales games but it’s been a long time since I tried. I used to be very old school with my JRPGs and preferred turn based. But since then I’ve expanded a lot more into action RPGs so maybe I’ll give them another try. I do have tales of arise so maybe I should actually give that another go. I just remember the enemies being sponges and taking forever to kill.
I'm OK with this since I don't like the sequel especially the mc and his story or that Jude and milla's romance was never definitive which really irked me since I like a good romance in my jrpg's
Yeah... it's a pass from me. They need to remaster the games that actually haven't released in the west yet.
I'm waiting on combat gameplay. With the exception of Tales of Arise i never liked their combat system..
Last remaster i tried had a weird 2D combat system instead of just free walking/fighting. You could only move horizontal??
Xillia is one of my favorites in the series! And Xillia 2, sucks to not have them both in one package, but $40 is also pretty damn cheap, so I guess it kind of justifies having just the first game (though I'm going to need to find all those cats soon!)
Also looking forward to Legendia's remake, whenever that comes along (I feel like that'll benefit most from a lot of QOL stuff and encounter changes)
I like Xilia but this is a pass from me due to censorship.
