Zero Parades - For Dead Spies is the next game from ZA/UM, the studio behind the beloved Disco Elysium — and it's now been confirmed for a PS5 release in 2026.

However, Zero Parades, and indeed ZA/UM itself, are fighting an uphill battle, and have been for quite some time now.

After the release of Disco Elysium, several key members of the game's development team, including lead designer and writer Robert Kurvitz, were removed from the company.

Numerous reports have painted a somewhat murky picture of the situation ever since, but the bottom line is that ZA/UM lost some of its most creative minds.

In the years that have followed, many Disco Elysium fans have criticised the developer's management for their role in supposedly ousting the aforementioned employees.

As a result, Zero Parades has fallen under much scrutiny, with some suggesting that it's looking to capitalise on the runaway success of Disco Elysium.

The RPG has been marketed as a successor to Disco Elysium from the creators of said title, and many feel as though the whole thing's very disingenuous, considering the talent that was separated from the studio.

From where we're sitting, there's no doubt that Zero Parades is the work of a talented group of people, but there's also no denying just how messy the whole situation looks from the outside.

What's your take on Zero Parades? Will it ever come close to Disco Elysium, or is this project too hard of a sell? Carry out an investigation in the comments section below.
