Re: Housemarque's Future Games Under Sony May Be 'Even Bigger' Than Returnal

vict0RGM

@johncalmc It is not that hard to imagine "something bigger than Returnal" as their next project could be more elaborated in multiple aspects of a game. For example: multiple characters design, consistent open world/setting design instead of random generated levels, main quest and side quests design, a good and large narrative that uses the characters and make the player feel part of that world. Think of The Witcher 3 or Horizon Zero Dawn, they are bigger games than Returnal, at least in those aspects.

Re: Sony Confirms Acquisition of Returnal Dev Housemarque

vict0RGM

@AdamNovice a Doctor Strange game by Housemarque does sound exciting. Actually, even a game for a brand new franchise based on the superhero theme sounds equally, or even more exciting. Practically all gameplay mechanics created for Returnal could be used in a superhero game. Combine that with SIE expertise in creating great narratives for games and you have all the ingredients for another blockbuster for PlayStation.

Whatever they choose to go for, the next game by Housemarque+PlayStation looks very promising.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Stability 'Satisfactory', Says CDPR, More 'General' Improvements in Development

vict0RGM

CDPR should release an expansion, or a DLC, or something to bring players back to Cyberpunk 2077 since it lost a massive amount of its initial players. It just feels odd and, frankly, a bit sad to play it now. I think someone from CDPR said one time that Cyberpunk will not be like GTA V and he couldn't be more correct, since GTA V was released ages ago and still maintains a huge player base. The game never seems to get old.

Plus, I would have to uninstall Final Fantasy VII Remake to reinstall Cyberpunk, which makes it extra-sad.

Re: PS Vita Messages Wiped and Functionality Disabled

vict0RGM

Hey Sony. Why not create a android cellphone for gaming called Sony Vita? Make it shipped from the factory with a built in solution to connect with PlayStation controllers and a easy way to send the video/audio output to TV. I think it is a million dollars idea.

Re: Why Ubisoft's Avatar Game Couldn't Work on PS4

vict0RGM

I am more interested in the Star Wars game that Massive Entertainment is developing. However, it is great that they are getting to know the current gen consoles with the Avatar game. It will be nice to see what they will be able to achieve with PS5 and what to expect for the Star Wars game.

Re: Bethesda Apologises to PS5, PS4 Fans 'P*ssed' at Exclusivity

vict0RGM

I liked the E3 trailer for Starfield. I also liked the video on YouTube showcasing the creative process in the making of it. It is false and unfair to say that there is not creative passion behind Bethesda's games just because of the Microsoft acquisition. I am, off course, sad that I will not be able to play Starfield on PS5.

It would be great if Sony have a nice space exploration RPG game running on PS5 as a response to Starfield, but unless there is already one in the oven, it is almost impossible to have one ready by the time Starfield launches.

Maybe Sony should go explore the industry to find out who is making the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake (Aspyr?) and have a chat with them.

Re: Game of the Show: Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games from E3 2021

vict0RGM

It will be great for the video game industry if they manage to release a excellent game based on a Marvel IP. I hope the Guardians of the Galaxy game do for Marvel what Jedi Fallen Order did for Star Wars.

By the way, it is just sad that Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin didn't even made to the top 10. Square Enix really did a number in that announcement trailer.

Re: Chaos! Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin's Exclusive PS5 Demo Is Broken

vict0RGM

Oh, no.. Not like that.. This day was a win for Xbox.

How could they get a souls-like Final Fantasy I remake wrong? How? It looked so good in my head. It just felt nothing like Final Fantasy. It looked like just another your usual indie/fan made souls-like game.

That game, in my head, was supposed to be some kind of response to today's Xbox presentation. It just made what Xbox is going for even more stark: top-notch, unparallel quality games.

I was here expecting this demo to prove me wrong. And now this..

Playstation took a hit today. You can hate me for saying this, dislike my post, but it is the plain, hard truth. It is not a fatal wound, far from it. But it should be a wake up call. Or else, today is going to be a prelude to a turning point for the video game industry.

Re: Splinter Cell, The Division, Ghost Recon Crossover Game Leaks Ahead of Ubisoft Forward

vict0RGM

I believe there is a market space for a single player tactical espionage game like Splinter Cell. The Hitman games sale numbers is an indication of that. Maybe the new 007 game being developed also by IO interactive will fill the space (that is a big maybe).

But yeah.. asking for a tactical espionage single player game based on a classic franchise does feel more and more like screaming into the void.

Re: Aloy Trends As Fans Discuss Horizon Forbidden West Hero

vict0RGM

Speaking candidly, the difference in Aloy's face did bugged me. And the difference not only from the first game, but from the last year's announcement trailler as well.

But that is okay. What really annoys me though is those arguments that games and their protagonists should be more "real". The real reality is that most of women (and men!) would much prefer to have a leaner and more defined face, instead of a more chubby one.

You want real? Ok. Create a mechanic in HFW where if Aloy eats a lot she gets chubby, becomes slower and gets tired faster. And if she, instead, exercise more and eats healthier she gets leaner, becomes faster and gets more stamina. How do you like reality now?

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Mesmerises in 14 Minute Gameplay Sequence

vict0RGM

It was a feast to the eyes. At some moment I thought the velociraptor machine was going to pop right out of the TV! I really liked the new gameplay mechanics too.

Also important: I believe that Guerrilla Games didn't show anything that they can't deliver when the game is released.

The game is looking like a winner to me!

Re: Soapbox: Why I'm Not Expecting a PS5, PS4 Press Conference from PlayStation Next Month

vict0RGM

Sony knows that this E3 will be Xbox's chance to make it or break it and I think they will let Microsoft have their moment to show their cards.

On the other hand, the way I see it, Square Enix will be pretty much a PlayStation presentation.

So, combining Horizon Forbidden West State of Play and the Square Enix presentation, Sony (maybe) will end up having the first and last word in this Summer gaming presentations season.

A full blown PlayStation presentation like last year's "The Future of Play" sounds overkill, which is not Sony's style nowadays. So I will be very surprised if something like that happens in June.

Re: Returnal Team Out to Prove It's More Than Just the 'Resogun Studio'

vict0RGM

I understand that a lot of people at comments think $70 is a fair price for Returnal. But, at the end of day, it all comes down to 'how many people agrees that the price is right and buys the game'.
What I am most concerned about Returnal is not its price thought (that is fixable with eventual sales) but with the game longevity.
I think Housemarque was spot on in terms of gameplay and progression for Returnal, but the game's narrative is not on the same level. They should have worked in that area more. If you compare it with Hades for example, there is a difference there.
Regardless of that, there is absolutely no doubt that Housemarque should work on another big project like Returnal. That game definitely brought them to the big leagues. I believe a more mainstream game would give Housemarque a better chance to compete there though.

Re: Roblox PS5, PS4 Versions 'Make Perfect Sense', Says CEO

vict0RGM

Basically, Roblox is a Dreams where creators have a way to monetize their work. It is more of a gaming platform then a closed product. It makes perfect sense that it is not on the PlayStation if creators from Roblox don't have a way to profit from their creations. I don't know how it works in that area with Xbox though.
